    For someone planning on keeping this motorcycle for awhile, I find the fact that valve clearance inspections, from a maintenance point of view, are only required ever 26,000 miles or 42,000 kilometers. That's a big plus!

      You’re right, it is good. One downside though, when valves do eventually need adjustment it will be more expensive because cams have to come out to replace under bucket shims.

    Just had the rear fender eliminator kit done and it makes it look much better! Not that it looked bad as i get more compliments than any other bike I've ever had! Even more than my old ZX-12 Ninja!✌

    This is a great bike for recreational riders like myself and most people who ride bikes. I love my 2021 MT07. I've own an 09 Street Triple and this reminds me of that bike with more comfort.

    I'm an avowed Kawboy, but I'm SO glad that there are lots of fun & cool bikes out there from all the manufacturers for us to choose from. It's a good time to be a rider. Now we just need to get more people riding to take advantage of all these amazing machines.

    Great vid. Absolutely love mine. Me being only 70 kg the power to weight is more than enuff. Twisty roads are a real hoot too. You can fling it around with ease and it doesn't disappoint. The ignition key position and inaccuracy of the fuel gauge are the only detractions I have. Overall a great bike.

    Nice first big bike. In the UK, you can’t just rock up without any motorcycle experience and get one of these. I did a couple of thousand miles on a 125cc and then passed my full test on a hired MT07. I thought the progression was a good one from 125, and I’ll certainly consider buying it as a first big bike. Good review.

    • @timsmotorcyclediary
      @timsmotorcyclediary Před 6 lety +2

      Richard Collins - the MT-07 is the only big bike you'll ever need. I've been riding super sport bikes for most of the past 22 years. I sold my Yamaha R1 in 2016 and purchased an FZ-07 in 2017. Most reviewers (and most of my friends) would say that's a huge step down. In terms of performance, absolutely! However, in terms of fun, hell no! The MT-07 is cheaper on gas. Insurance is cheaper. It's extremely comfortable. Oil changes are easy to do. And I get lots of compliments on the bike. I have the gray one with hi-viz wheels. You can save yourself a lot of money buying and riding an MT-07 long-term.

      timsmotorcyclediary thanks for the advice 😊👍. At the recent bike show in London I sat on the naked Suzuki GSX-S750, I liked that a lot as well. Little bit more expensive than the MT07 though and bit more power.

    I have the MT03 as my fourth bike in 3.5 years and love it. I ride in Thailand and will get the MT07 after I move north in a couple years. I must comment that I think it is un-responsible to recommend this as a first bike. WAY too much bike for a beginner! I am 54yrs, 5'10" and 154 lbs. I started riding 3.5 yrs ago. I've ridden bicycles and can still wheelie and used to do stupid things like jumping ramps and such. What I'm saying is get a little 125-150 dirt bike and play around on that first for god's sake! Good luck and look every way you can!

    I can see popping a set of Ohlins NIX-22 cartridges in the forks and S46DR1 on this bike and voila. A corner carving monster.

    • @ritaamorim5455
      @ritaamorim5455 Před 6 lety

      Lifted_Above If you’re willing to spend that much on suspension upgrades why not buy a 765 Street Triple R or an MT-09 SP in the first place?

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket Před 6 lety

      Because the STR/RS is a high strung peaky engine without the same strong grunt of the Yamaha. The Triumph ergonomics will fold me up too much and suspension is already going to be too harsh. Because the Yamaha SP version isn't sold in the USA, unfortunately (not for the -09 or -10).

  • @turbo311
    @turbo311 Před 6 lety

    Love the MT-07, nice to see some updates. My 2015 FZ-07 was good but I replaced the suspension completely. Versys 650 next? Maybe as a best of used bikes episode? Or what makes it unique in its three generations?

  • @slingshot8721
    @slingshot8721 Před 6 lety

    Excellent job on your videos. I really like the looks and the performance of the MT07. You said you felt a little cramped on the bike at 6 ft tall. I'm 6 ft tall also and have sat on an mt09 and I felt good on it. My local dealer doesnt have a mt 07 right now. Is there a noticeable difference in leg room between the 2 bikes? If the mt07 is much more cramped, I'll just get the MT09 instead.

      @travissearles23 Před 4 lety

      I had a ZX-6 Ninja and i loved it but honestly my 2019 MT-07 is a much more fun bike and definitely a better daily commute bike as you sit more straight up and the compliments are never ending!

    Love your review, but it would be nice for you to include how tall you are. There are tons of videos criticizing the FZ07 for being too cramped, but that's not really fair to state. Tall people have many liter bikes made for taller people to choose from. I never hear people complaining that liter bikes are too big? Why do manufacturers make liter bikes for giants who are basketball height people? Sounds absurd, right? Otherwise, I dig your review :-)

      @danny12threes6 Před 5 lety

      Sv650 is a bit more refined, but the Mt engine is more playful. Wheelies are better on the Mt. Suspension is squishy on both and brakes. It comes down to refinement vs fun whichever fits your needs more.

    as an old school rider I wish you wouldn't wheelie and play on a bike so much as there are bucket loads of vids on tube with nubes splitting lanes like crazy in heavy traffic and tossing wheelies down the suburban streets ... If we want people to respect riders we need to respect other road users and respect road rules ...

  • @aluisious
    @aluisious Před 6 lety

    I don't know why it takes Yamaha years to figure out damping. It literally costs nothing to make the damping right, you don't use more expensive parts, you just DEVELOP THE BIKE PROPERLY. Yamaha can pound sand, I am not interested in bikes they take years to make properly, when for a few K more I can buy a Ducati that has been designed well the first time.
