Cute dog. My little fella reacts the same when I ask him if he wants to go in the car - he loves going for a drive. He just plonks on the passenger seat and falls asleep. One of my Shepherds loves playing with tyres, big plastic drums and tree trunks. She drags 5ft logs around the yard 😂. Her brother prefers squeaky toys. Those beds should be much deeper if you have poor soil. Mine are a foot tall, some even taller. Loads of horse manure, rotting silage and seaweed does the trick for my plants, though this year the weather is so messed up many things fail.

That's one hell of a garden you've got,i would make sure your raised bed has got some stakes hit into the ground and screwed into the sides for reinforcing as the walls might move when things are growing in it and when its watered, it's a beauty and spud makes a good tiller 😆😂🤣😭,put a ring of compost all around the courgettes,it all takes time and effort, it's all looking good tbh,love the song for the all new you & spud show 👍

@@StrivingforSelfSufficiencyit's good that you've got a few courgette plants as they can pollinate each other,just keep an eye on the leaves for powdery mildew, keep your brassicas covered as the cabbage white will soon be around, just make your own slug repellent from coffee grounds and egg shells and some sand, just mash it all up in a bucket and put a barrier of it around the inside of the planters/raised beds.
That's looking really good (from a non gardeners view 🙂). On that long bed, it might be worth scooping the compost off from one end and using it to increase the depth elsewhere, then laying down come cardboard to stop the weeds in the now bare patch and lay the other compost bags on the cardboard and grow the tomato's in the bags. At the end of the season just add the bags contents to the other compost - This was how my Dad built up his raised beds, took 3 years to get the beds filled up with decent soil. I do like Spuds song 🙂
@@Lee_Proffit thanks Lee - I think I’ll do some experimenting with the tomatoes this year as I have so many of them. I like planting them in deep pots normally but could try lying them horizontally in grow bags too 🤔 The song is very catchy! 😊
@@StrivingforSelfSufficiency No, you put the bag on the ground and cut the holes (3" x 3" - to let the water in) in the upper face of the bag, then stick the plants in the holes, stick a cane right through the bottom of the bag to tie them up to. There were 3 or 4 holes in each bag. Must have taken ages to find a song with "Spud" in, or are you a secret Country and Western song lover 🙂
