    Hello Belinda, i've seen other formulator using the water phase and oil phase separated in water bath, here you put the water phase directly to the fire and then added the oil phase to it. I wanna kknow if there is a difrence between doing both methods. Does it need to be water bath or directo to fire and does it needs to be separated both phases. Thank you.

      Although not the sole difference, it’s an important point. Most cationic ingredients can be irritating at higher levels. In rinse off products, as products won’t stay on for long, they are less likely to irritate. But for leave on products, the capacity for irritation drastically increases by virtue of the time it stays on.
      By way of example, cetrimonium chloride, commonly used in conditioners may be used at levels of up to 10% in rinse out products. However the Cosmetic Ingredient Review has stated that levels of >0.25% in leave on products will be irritating.
      Hope this helps!

    Does that mean that in terms of conditioning , there is no difference between a hair mask and a hair conditioner

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  Před 2 lety

      There is a big difference! It depends on the amount of cationic emulsifier as well as other cationic agents used. In terms of restructuring/strengthening, it also depends on the protein and other actives used.
