I always wondered why 22 of Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurants closed up but after watching this video, I think I now know why.
😂 Couldn't agree more
Vincenzo said that
I am not even Italian but still offended.
On point.
Make it before you put the boot in; I have, and it's delicious.
This is not a Lasagne this is a complete insult to Italy and and all Italians Jamie should be ashamed of himself for calling this dish a Lasagne.
Chef Vincenzo from Vincenzo's plate didn't have too much enthusiasm for this recipe.
That video made me search out the original just so I could comment on the abomination
Too bad it's delicious
@@user-hp6jt9zm7kthat’s how i just got here!! I had to see the full rating reaction. Cenzo had me dying
@@gavincunningham2010 Even if that was the case, it still isn't a lasagna or anything close to it. Also, he burned the top.
i dont think many would, it looks horrible and i expect better.
Jamie shouldn't be allowed to set foot in Italy ever again after callling this abomination a lasagna. 😂
Hail Vincenzo 😊
@@fussyrenovator7551finally!! You can't call this a lasagna just because you used a lasagna sheet 😅 bum receipe
I’m sure it’s good, but that’s no lasagna.
@@Robohead-z6z It's definitely not a Lasanga. And I'm quite confident it must taste pretty bad too.
@@Robohead-z6ztoo many ingredients. It would taste like the colour grey. It’s an offensive gluey vegetable soup.
"This will serve 6 people"
What are the other 5 eating then??😂
This man is Italian enemy No1
Jamie Oliver is good food's enemy #1...by far the WORST celebrity chef EVER.
some people in the West still think he's the best chef.
I now understand why his restaurants went out of business
That's one way to make noodle soup! 😮
Nah man, it's bean and leek casserole.
Disturbing. This is the most faraway lasagna recipe I've ever seen
“You can get fresh lasagna sheets in all the supermarkets”
No, you can’t, I live about 10 minutes away from 5 different supermarkets and I’ve never seen any of them sell those types of lasagna sheets
When I have time, which is not that often, I make lasagna sheets from scratch. It takes everything to another level.
Dried sheets work well too if you can't find the fresh ones. But make a proper lasagna, or make this, but don't call it a lasagna.
so get dry and deal with it
@@lesleyrenouf5986 I don’t mind getting dry, my complaint is that Jamie is lying
The Usian Bolt of f**king up
This is something a drunk vegetarian would come up with
😂😂😂😂
Couldn’t agree more
@@bprocrast are you offended ❄️
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
thats not exactly casserole neither is it a truly a pie, its definitely not a lasagna(not even in the same universe in which a lasagne would exist), i admire his confidence with this recipe of whatever he just made...
Leek soup with lasagna sheets does not a lasagna make.
Look at the comments before and after Vincenzo's video 😂😂
Jamie Oliver - Fifty ingredients i'm throwing together and calling it lasagna
Jamie made whole italy cry 😢
This is what you would call the "Last Supper" ,because after eating this you won't live to eat anything else.
When you're a true masterchef of making a dish with 50 ingredients tasteless
I love this meal!
Vincenzo brought me here 😫
Whoever's reading this, i pray that whatever you're going through gets better and whatever you're struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day! Amen-
Does anyone know where to get that pan he is using?
What kind of pan is that
Oh God
Yes j agree it needed more punch in flavour .
I have to try this!!! Yummy
Oooh that looks so good….😊
Hi again Jamie, have you put the butter or not?
How long to cook the sheets?
Yey.. ya...!!!
Goodafternoon Jamie from Hellas
Looks great
I note a number of rather snide comments on this and other recipe films on this channel.. The point is, these ideas are not aimed at chefs, they are basic technique for people who want to cook and enjoy delicious food. It's the person who finds lasagne complicated, or doesn't have too much time who is the target audience.
Lovely recipe as ever, full of essential practise and wonderful ingredients. Tasty! Nice one Jamie. ⭐👍
There's nothing complicated about authentic lasagna, you just build layers and then put it in the oven.
There is no basic technique here, just bad technique. You won't learn anything about cooking by watching this video, almost everything is bad, and the result is a disgusting looking lushy-mush of vegetables that you would be ashamed to call a lasagna. Barely a soup.
This is literally more complicated than just making an actual lasagne though. This is literally harder to make.
If he named his dishes something original it would be OK. But he calls things by a name people know and then makes something unrecognizable and offensive. Consider if you watched a non English cook make a meat pie without using ANY of the ingredients or techniques of a meat pie. It's ridiculous. I think he's just rage baiting.
You mean like his Thai green and red curries that weren't even green or red or Thai?
Judging by the comments I'd say this guy can get away with anything. This is not a Lasagne & I say that as someone who hates it when people ride chefs about changing an ingredient or 2 that is not "authentic". And honestly, I just doubt I'd like what seems like a train wreck of flavors.
Looks amazing, must give this ago
wow
I think this would be good with fresh tortellini instead of flat noodles. I'm going to try that.
The flat sheets makes it a lasagne.
@@jgooner894he may have put in the sheets but that's not lasagne😂 if i put lasagne sheets in soup, would you call it lasagne?
@@jgooner894Haha funny joke 😐
🤡🤡🤡@@jgooner894 no, it's not a lasagna no matter what pasta shape you put in. Don't be a clown like Jamie here.
don't kill the poor tortellini...what have they done to you?
Didn't even watch full video yet and I could assume Jamie gonna use his signature oil
Spoiler: 5:31
at least the olive oil belongs in the recipe this time
@@lachouette_et_le_phoque yep

Leeks, asparagus, salt, pepper
Bechamel: flour, english mustard, 800ml milk
Mint
Cheddar, parmesan
Fresh lasagna
Almonds, olive oil, lemon zest, pesto
nice
What is a good substitute for fresh lasagna sheets? I can’t find any nearby.
Just not making this recipe at all you can be glad
Pre cook the sheets first and it'll work
Jamie Oliver...👌👍🙏
I finally know how they make bad dog food. Someone find a culinary school and enroll this guy.
Omg amazing twist, this is one for the weekend
For the dogs...
How many lasagne sheets did you use? It's hard to tell!
How many people are you feeding? Add more lasagna sheets if you’re feeding a family if 6. Only add a couple of sheets if it’s just for you.
Any changes if I use dry pasta?
I wouldn't -- there is not enough liquid to cook the pasta as this recipe is written. Maybe cook it partially first and then add it.
Or just add more moisture?
I declared the Djihad, when he started with mint 🤣👍
This is a burnt veggie soup not a lasagna 🤢😅
I love this
Looked more like guacamole dip for my chips.
I was wondering why were you cutting it with your spoon when it was so soupy.
Very nice! 😋🍽 love it
Easy to follow recipes
I tried this, and while I like the technique with the ‘quick bechamel’ and stir-in lasagne, the flavors were pretty flat. I’m going to try it with some spicy crumbled sausage and some tomato-based sauce stirred through. That might make it a two-pan meal, but I think it’ll be worth it.
If you are experiencing a loss of taste or difficulty distinguishing flavors, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional. This can be caused by a number of factors such as a cold, sinus infection, or a more serious condition such as anemia or nerve damage. They can determine the cause and recommend appropriate treatment. In the meantime, you can try experimenting with different seasonings and spices to add flavor to your food. Additionally, you can try eating foods that are naturally strong in flavor such as garlic and ginger.
Up until I saw this recipe I'd never attempted to make a lasagne. The simple method encouraged me to have a go. As Jamie says, you can add different bits to suit your own taste. I've since made it in a "semi scruffy" way, which involves layering the pasta sheets conventionally and giving it 45 mins in the oven to ensure it's cooked through. I still use the basic quick Béchamel sauce as before. I put in the mustard with added garlic and plenty of black pepper. It's one of my favourite dishes now ☺
why bother go make something else using a proper recipe
Looks delicious
Mint, milk, mustard, lime, leeks, with cheddar? Discusting...
"Easily serve 6 people ... " Are you nuts ... that is just enough for me.
This is absolutely NOT lasagna let alone anything resembling Italian quisine...Jamie, you used to actually have respect for food and it's history, but this and many other recent videos shows you are straying from that path of respect

Some people don't have time to be doing it the bloody traditional way which is going to take hours. Jamie is teaching people to cook delicious food without much effort and it's easy to follow . Do you think he will serve this in his restaurant?... This is for home cooks for god sakes.
Dude, not even my dog would eat that mess.
Pesto with mustard. Joke.
You have seriously got to be joking, what is this?
Made this yesterday and it was delicious! 👍
🤣
This is chaotic good and i'm here for it
ripping fresh lasagna sheets and mixing them into this soup is chaotic evil, if anything D:
Looks good
But its not lasagna tho
@@HoryzonPlaysTM to me its lasagna, and to me thats enough
@@goosemontv but no its not lasagna, its good and tasty, yes why not, but not lasagna, if you put lasagna sheets in your chicken soup instead of noodles its not lasagna either.. enjoy it but dont call it wrong names, its more like veggie casserole with cheese. I wonder how the texture of pasta sheets is, because just from looking at video I can clearly tell it won't be cooked evenly because the top will dry out.
