My first pvp I defeated 5/6 of my opponents pokemon after losing 2 in a row in the beginning. I learned alot from it
Just started PokeMMO this weekend after wanting to replay gens 1-5 and I was looking for some goals, so this was PERFECT

Pat can you make a guide on how to hunt for rare shinys like starters? I wanted to catch treckos in wild and breed the ones i catched with dittos. So it would be a nonexpensive but timeconsuming hunt which i was fine with. The only expences were time and pokeballs so yeah. But now having lure and still hunting on a different nonrare shiny i dont know how to tackle it. Now hunting starters is a moneyinvestment since its not possible to find them in wild without a lure :S

Im 1200 encounters into shuckle i will get it its very time consuming i can usually get around 200-300 encounters a day if im efficient ive even stopped doing my gym reruns because i dont wanna waste my steps in the safari LOL
Damm thats a hard shiny to hunt , i think you could wait for johto , it could have some spot for shuckle

I play specifically pvp in pokeMMO but what is annoying how much you have to farm to build a new team ton experiment that is why sometimes i just leave the game for months to go play on Pokemonshowdown and come back… those ev training too 😢

Hey, just a quick question. When youre talking about hunting the Charizard for example, you mention spending 150m pokeyen. But why would it cost money? Wouldnt it just cost time to run back and forth checking for shinies?
The optimal way of hunting charizard isnt running back and forth is why, its egg hunting which requires 30,000 Dittos + pokeballs and more. Running back and forth for a 5% encounter Shiny chance would take you soooooo many hours, way more than egg hunting which is already brutal + youd have to spend money on lures which is MUCH cheaper than eggs but still worth noting, at 300 encounters/hr with swarm and lures, it would take u around 2k hours to get + 30m spent in lures. Its up to you if u want to hunt via singles but most people dont.

i feel like saying "rare shinies are reserved for *dedicated* players" comes off less agressive/gate keepy. experienced players wasn't a bad way of saying it but something about dedicated just feels more fitting IMO. like in your example about you spending 13 months and over 100m pokeyen on your egg hunt. just because you've done all that doesn't make you "better" than someone who hasn't, it just means you're more dedicated to the hunt and have the perseverance to not give up on it.

Thankfully in pokemmo theres a nice sound effect, animation and the shiny pokemon will say SHINY in its name in all caps, also theres an alert if u try to run from a shiny! They are hard to miss nowadays but being color blind definitely makes it harder haha
That guy at the beginning of the video recognized you and wanted to talk to you, but you didn't consider him because of the tutorial maybe, and finally even flew away
At least look back for him (you've got his nickname now from this video) and send him a greeting within the game

I get many many messages from viewers everyday and im honored by every one and appreciate every one, but i never OWE anyone my time, I don't remember if i just missed him or chose to ignore him to focus on what i was doing, neither of which is incorrect, no one is ENTITLED to a response from me. I do my best, but i am human and what you are expecting is inhuman. If you are HURT by someone not responding to you, then that is the fault of the person. I will always do my best to respond to every person i can and show that love and appreciation for viewers are what allow me to do what i do. But it is a 50/50 relationship, i provide people with entertaining and helpful content (hopefully) and people provide their time to watch. If i ever stop making good content, people will stop watching and that's ok, no one should owe anything to anyone in a viewer-content creator relationship, it should be 50/50.
