Just love the Jam,what a band, what sound, play it louder and angrier? Nah you can't top that. Fu""cking Awesome, there will never be another band to outplay them on stage.
" we killed and robbed the f*ckin lot...but it was done under the flag of Democracy!" Paul Weller We Friggin Lov ya mate!!...These lyrics are as pertinent, factual, truthful NOw as ever!!!!!!!!!!
My first ever gig was the Jam. It was their last ever tour, I was 12, dragged along by my big sister, I remember her saying "one day you will thank me for this...." I remember standing down the front of Liverpool royal court & then they came on, it went mental, left an impression. Sometimes I feel Weller has written an ongoing soundtrack to my life.
got totally bummed out seeing Paul Weller at The Apollo last night.and he didn't do his old catalog! THAT HAPPENED 2 FIRE THAT WAS PUNK ROCK? RELIGHT THE FIRE! THE JAM STILL RULES!!
If anyone tries to get near this sort of musical intensity, all the critics & punters all go "well ther was The Jam before, and they were this and that..." you got to let the new sound happen. Can't ever tell when or where and what it's gonna sound like.

little boy soldiers is a bit dodgy here - love the studio version but set the house ablaze is one of those tunes that gets overlooked- dark great lyrics and great both live and the studio version
THis is what Uncomprommising Hard Driving THOUGHT Provoking Lyrics Music is all about....but the question remains...When is Paul Weller gonna convert to islam like Dave Chapeele ("I´m James Brown..B*itch!) , Cat stevens and Jimmy Cliff?????

"Find enclosed one son one medal and a note to say he won" - pure genius!
Amazing performance. Along with the Clash, the only bands that really mattered from the late-70's to early-80's.
