    My first ever gig was the Jam. It was their last ever tour, I was 12, dragged along by my big sister, I remember her saying "one day you will thank me for this...." I remember standing down the front of Liverpool royal court & then they came on, it went mental, left an impression. Sometimes I feel Weller has written an ongoing soundtrack to my life.

    got totally bummed out seeing Paul Weller at The Apollo last night.and he didn't do his old catalog! THAT HAPPENED 2 FIRE THAT WAS PUNK ROCK?
    RELIGHT THE FIRE! THE JAM STILL RULES!!

    If anyone tries to get near this sort of musical intensity, all the critics & punters all go "well ther was The Jam before, and they were this and that..." you got to let the new sound happen. Can't ever tell when or where and what it's gonna sound like.

    little boy soldiers is a bit dodgy here - love the studio version but set the house ablaze is one of those tunes that gets overlooked- dark great lyrics and great both live and the studio version
