  • Hello and welcome to Train Simulator Classic!
Well this is something a little bit different isn't it?! Today we're taking a trip on the "Clockwork Orange" or the Glasgow Subway as it's also known, on an inner circle route! This addon is new and will cost you the grand old price of £19.99, which is a little bit cheaper than the usual route addons, normally priced at £24.99.
Despite it being cheaper it does still seem quite a lot of money for what is a rather small route, and with most of it being underground there's very little of it that's actually requiring a great deal of scenery other than the depot areas.
So join me as we delve into the deepest, darkest depths of the Glasgow Subway system!

This route is modelled to how it was in the 80s and the trains' acceleration is much better in reality

I've got to admit, I've not got the biggest interest in subway systems but having enjoyed the Virtual District Line a lot lately I decided to give this a go. Really glad I did as despite it being an underground loop I've enjoyed driving around and seeing the detail that's been included on not just the trains, but the stations too. Superb little route, and a great addition to Train Simulator Classic!

Looks good doesn't it! Opened in 1896! just incredible engineering when you consider it was probably dug by hand. Operated by a cable system originally. (Good old Wikipedia 😁)Blows me away. Thanks Joe, good video. It's downloading now.....😀

Having a quick look, it looks like those original trains were used all the way up until these ones were introduced

I still can't help but feel the whole thing has a bit of a "BVE" feel to it, but then I guess there's only so much you can do with an underground system haha! Glad i've inspired you to get it Nick! :D

32:48. That opening area was the location of the original Merkland Street Station. That closed permanently in 1977 when the 3 year modernisation project on the system began and was moved to the location where Partick Station is. Props to the simulator actually putting that little detail in.

Nice recreation. The stations are pre-refurbishment (no more cream and brown tiling, for example, and there are now glass partitions at stations like Buchanan St. and Hillhead) but some of the decoration, like the maps and information posters inside the train, are more current with the white and orange colour scheme.

When the subway was refurbished from 1977 - 1980 the new trains originally typically ran as 2 car sets. Intermediate trailers were constructed later but seeing a 3 car set formed of 3 cab cars isn't uncommon at all even today.
