I've always wondered why I liked Spanish music so much but listening to this made me realize it. Spanish music is a beautiful blend of classic western European and eastern Arabic/Moorish influences. I always was curious as to why it sounded a bit different than traditional European music but I couldn't put my finger on it exactly. Thanks Civ!

I started with Isabella as a one City challenge and no Wonders in sight. Ended up with an empire spanning all of Europe except the british islands. Certainly one of the best theme songs in the game.
How interesting. In my last game, Isabella was my faithful ally for 2000 years. We fought several wars together and emerged jointly victorious for the better of both of our empires.
In one campaign where I played as Spain I started about 7 tiles away from Lake Victoria. 500 gold right at the start of the game and my second city had a 12 food tile!.

Spain is probably my most played Civ. Their unique ability is entirely dependent on luck, but if you do get lucky you just get to swim in gold early game.

Wasn't she only the Queen of Castile? Her and Ferdinand who ruled Aragon united and became the joint monarchs of a united Spain, later capturing the region of Granada, which makes sense for the Moorish influence. And Portugal was a separate entity during her rule, so it wasn't the entirety of Iberia. Lol sorry if I'm a stickler, just wondering if I got my history wrong. D:

Apperently the Scandinavians were trading with the Incans before the Roman era, until the Incan ports were washed away and forgotten to them. Inca were also trading with Polynesians, until said ports were destroyed by the returning sea.

Was the problem you had that, if you tried to open a game (new or old), a ton of error messages popped up saying they couldn't open a load of things, and then the game crashed? Because that's my problem right now.

Spain is probably my most played Civ. Their unique ability is entirely dependent on luck, but if you do get lucky you just get to swim in gold early game.
@SnareOfTheWest You are mistaken... Fernando II, husband to Isabel I of Castilla, was King of Aragón. The Crown of León had fused with that of Castille over 200 hundred years before! That in the person of Fernando III of Castilla. Then upon the marraige of Isabel I and Fernando II their kingdoms fused. Yet as you said she was no Iberian Queen... and not even Queen of Spain, she styled herself as Queen of Aragón & Castilla, it was not until Felipe II that the title of King of Spain came into use

Augustus is correct. Spain at the time was understood as the whole peninsula. When Philip II - already King of Castile, Aragon, Navarra, and Granada - conquered Portugal, he became the first King of Spain. Portugal regained its independence during the reign of Philip IV, but Philip IV and his successors continued to hold the title of King of Spain. It was only in 1812 that Spain officially referred to as a nation within Iberia and separate from Portugal.

Same in my game mate, I'm playing as England and the French invaded Spain back in 950BC, I liberated the Spanish from France and the British/Spanish Alliance has ladted up to 1990's (where I am right now)
