We just saw an adult male chipmunk friend taking care of a baby (2 month old) chipmunk; cleaning its face and tail, and the baby was following the male. i usually see the mothers do that so it was surprising.
Now you need to make a list of names for the Blue Jays and Chipmunks for their kids. They'll be coming to your house for food.😆

As babies get older and more mobile, mama Chipmunks and also 13 Stripes Ground Squirrels seem to leave a designated baby to keep the others in their nest. I've spent hours, especially for the ground squirrels which have many babies, watching the delegated baby sticking their siblings back down the burrow hole as they pop up to look around. It is like a frantic popcorn popper as they pop up and are shoved back in burrows. Ground squirrels are much more timid than chipmunks.
I'm sure mama bobby is awfully hungry feeding the babies and herself! ❤🐿

Thank you. By providing a high protein food source for the mum to be and then mum delivered there were few scavenging trips for food exposing her to predators, and a healthy milk supply for the babies.
She's so cute,and I hope the babies come out of the Chipmunk home soon.👍🥰

저넓은 밖으로 나왔다가 쪼끄만한 구멍을 용케들 찾아들어가는것도 너무 신기하고 대단해요
Oh my! They are healthy chipmunks, year after year because of all the good food you feed them. They have dirt baths and plenty of water. They don't have to search long hours for food, then for water. Each generation is stronger and stronger. More babies! And since they know right where to go for food, they don't spend time out while hawks see them. They get weak hunting for food, slow for hawks. And they have to leave babies alone- much stress. And of course The Royal Forest Police- the Blue Jays to signal the alarm of predators...although with babies, they may signal alarm for chipmunks..worried they will take Bay Jay's food. 😅 I think you are going to need more seed, nuts and mealworms. (Little friends like expensive food.) Thank you Choo Choo and Tom, for all you do!!
