Tip for the hands smelling like chum, use toothpaste and wash your hands with it. Works every time . Also you can use it to remove any smell left on your hands ! Hope this helps
That big trap is really a crab trap and not a fish trap, its made so that smaller fish can swim out to reduce bicatch. Awesome video tho

When you have chum/fishy smelling hands, take some soft liquid soap in your hands, add a good amount of baking soda and scrub your hands with it. Then rinse. It will remove the smell plus make your hands baby soft afterwards. 😘 Love these fish trap videos in your channel.

To help with the after scent of the chum and the sardines, try lemon juice! It helped me through some of my marine biology field classes!!

If you cover the round holes on the sides of the trap with egg crate or something and tie pieces of thin mesh to the end of the entrance holes that big trap would be the daddy of all traps 😁the mantis shrimp made up for the poor catch and you got food for some fish. Still I loved the video as always. Can't wait to you catch that shaak 🦈

To get fish smell off hands put a spoon in hand then add dish soap and rub your hands with spoon. Smell gone! Works for onions and garlic smell also
A lil helpful trick... Spray your bait with WD-40.. It's oil based and will carry the scent further bringing in more fish

Wish I could see the mantis better to get an id on it! Not all of them hit people. Some like to inspect fingers/hands and are very curious about people. I have a peacock mantis right now and she is very interested in me but backs away from my finger. Hoping she will get braver soon

Definitely do it again but next time you need to get some plastic mesh from home Depot or Lowe's to cover the big holes up so the fish don't fall out also for the collapsible traps get a pair of panty hoes for the bait slows down the fish from eating faster aka lack of bait all night
