  • This video will show what it takes to setup N1MM, or just about any other software that supports CW / Morse Code keying of your Yaesu FTdx101MP or Yaesu FTdx101D.
    I go into a little more detail on N1MM and what you need to do to setup CW Keying, but as mentioned, many of the same principles still apply.

    Thank you so much for this very clear video. I have an FTdx10, but these instructions were perfect. I got it working in no time with your help. With computer interfaces, the details really matter!

    Thank you for a FB tutorial for computer CW control of the FTdx101mp. Very easy to follow. I did find that N1MM needs to be set to RTS to work and that the radio setting for CW could be either RTS or DTR and still work just fine. N1MM set to DTR CW did not work at all. Strange to me! I am using the latest firmware. It would be great if you did an MMTTY/N1MM/FTdx101MP video and show us how to add RTTY control. It seems there may be some conflicts between CW and RTTY setups. I'd be looking for a seamless setup so all I would need to do I click on digital interface on the N1MM Windows tab and be up and running in RTTY.

      Very interesting - I will see if I can give it a try - I havent done much RTTY lately and just tried to do some decoding on my Icom 705 radio. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching!

    Been messing with setting up N1MM on my FTDX-101D and my TS-890S and IC-9700. Found a few things in your video I am doing wrong. I already use HRD log so not sure if I even need the N1MM but I would like to try some contesting. Working on my CW but it still sucks. I could send everything, but I don't think it is possible to send slow enough for me to copy. Thanks. AB9QU.

    I'm sorry, nothing about wiring in this video. Do you use just one USB/USB cable for both virtual ports or 2 cables including RS232/USB? To have both CAT and CW options. 73, Roman, 5B4AQN

      Sorry about that. There is only one USB cable connecting the radio and computers. That single cable is able to handle everything.

    Hi its me again, sorry to bother you. Eventually I got N1MM to load on my pc and followed your setting up with my FTDX10. So far so good even got the cw to key by the F keys. Now I have my cw speed set to 20 wpm but using the f key its sending above 25wpm.. How can I match NIMM to my radio cw speed ? Thanks

    • @k9kj
      @k9kj  Před 8 měsíci +1

      From what I understand, the CW speed that is controlled by the software will always be independent of the keyer speed on your radio. You would have to match both of them up in order for them to match. I don't know that there is a way for the software to control the yaesu

      @@k9kj I have found that out now but, I am old fashioned, to me the art is sending not using the logbook keyboard to send. I have not spent my money on a Begali dual paddle to do that. Thanks for your reply looking forward to video on N1MM uploading the CWT log.
