It’s a tough lint free paper towel I use cleaning engine parts in the garage, but anything could work as long as the door is smooth and it doesn’t leave fluffy deposits on the door. Old t-shirts are a firm contender. It’s been on there for over 2 years now with no issues and I’ve got to re-apply it soon so keep your eyes peeled for an update to the doors.
Just curious, one year on how the doors are? I'm about to osmo oil 17 of these doors - and when I looked into it, it said Polyx isn't suitable for veneer doors, and to use the specific Osmo door oil. So wanted to see if you had any issues with it
This video was done in April 2022. As of January 2024, No issues at all. I am considering giving them a light rub down this year and another coat of the oil.
I’ve hung doors before but the finish I wanted was a bit out of my league. The carpenter I used was of the same skill level as robin clevit. It was fascinating to watch him work and to see how accurate he was with my wonky door frames. They all look square but they’re def not.
Giving you some love for this… best interpretation of how it should be done, but is not always said
Thank you very much. It’s a lot of work but so worth it. The results speak for themselves.
Are they oak veneer doors or solid oak? Have some xl Suffolk veneer doors and undecided what to use. Thanks
They are oak veneer doors with a chipboard core. They came from benchmarx I believe. The name Suffolk rings a bell so they could be the same.
Is that just blue paper towel roll your using to apply this with?

@@NickThornhill Cheers, thanks for the info.
Nice one. So you dont have to sand down again after the second coat of Osmo? Cheers.
Fast forward to 18 minutes. I definitely sand them down. I was going to use wire wool but osmo suggest this is a bad idea.
Yea once I hung my doors they wernt coming off again lol to heavy I did my doors hung also with no issue's.
