What is the Lowest Possible High Score in New Super Luigi U? (Normal Levels)

- What is the lowest amount of score points, required for a playthrough of New Super Luigi U? As it turns out, this question is hard to answer. There are so many different things that grant evil points in Super Mario games, that routing a Mario game with the lowest score possible is a huge challenge. Every enemy we defeat grants points, every coin we collect is forbidden, every second left on the end of a super mario level scores points, and ever power up that lives in New Super Luigi U hands out points as well. In short there is so much to keep in mind, that we will do this in two videos. Today we will take a look at the routing of the game, and at all the problems that await us in the normal levels, on our journey to beat New Super Luigi U with the lowest score possible!

This is the most overwhelming challenge run I've ever seen of any game. And of course, you pick to do it in Luigi U, the game where Luigi is barely even controllable.

Oh, he did plenty. Just... almost nothing that _matters,_ as far as the game is concerned.
I assume you're not using the Wii U Gamepad 's Boost Mode in this run? By tapping a flying squirrel in 1-1, it's possible to obtain a Super Acorn _without_ killing the enemy.
He used it in the boss episode, so I guess he is using it. Would save a fair amount of points, probably through more than just that one level.
I think he can also use the Boost Mode to stop the bullet bills in "Para Beetle Parade". Im not sure, but I think he can skip the part or stop the bullet bills.
I think he can also block the fire balls in 8- secret

Every time I see one of these, I think: "That's super cool, I wanna try doing that!" then I pick up my nearest Mario game and then stop playing at the first level. It's way harder than it looks. Kudos!

I tried doing the same thing with Sonic 1 and I gave up after less than 1/3 of Green Hill zone act 1.

You could beat the first 3 levels of the list as small luigi and then collect the acorn suit. Doing this would save 50 points!
But the third level can't be reached if you don't have the acorn suit...and the boss level is a minimum of 8050 points.

Tunnel tower i have a solution multiplayer for the coin A makes you a bubble but you'll still keep acorn (I think I might of messed something cause I haven't played it in a while and the first level you can tap the acorn squirrel with the game pad so I hope this come in handy)

@@itsfruit The problem isn't not getting hit, it's that big Luigi's hitbox makes it required to get a coin at the start and nabbit has the same hitbox as big Luigi so that wouldn't help

With the boss fights, try ground pounding. This allows you to defeat the boss in two hits, and ground pounding hits score the same as regular hits, so you can reduce the boss points by 2000.

While it may be nightmarish and require a full reroute, could you use the fact that with 4 people you could carry and throw each other in ways where the acorn suit's 1,200 points could be reduced?

Using boost mode, it's actually possible to beat the 1-2 secret exit without using the acorn suit. Go through 1-1 as normal, and then use Nabbit in 1-2 so that you can ground pound through the block to reach the secret exit. Using boost mode, you can make it to the secret exit and dodge all of the coins in the cave. Boost mode in general just covers a world of hurt in this game.

you should also be able to save 200 points in 1-1, as you can touch the super acorn without killing an enemy, making the toll only 1050 points
In Para-Beetle Parade, if you go fast enough to make it so the blocks aren't rendered, you won't get the 40 added points. I'm not an expert, so I might be wrong.
