The 1st time I used mine for productivity, and had all the info I needed in a 180 degree circle around me in a standing workstation position. No windows covered by other windows. No limitations of only having 2 screens for all those windows.. It was just so helpful and fun! Dragging files around through the air to move them.. The whole experience was like another new 1st iPhone experience. 😁. In that I knew there was no way I ever wanted to go back to the way things were before.
I just purchased mine yesterday and I can tell you this. The last time I had this feeling is the day of the iPhone original launch. I just finished watching Blade Runner 2049 and what an amazing experience. Especially in the middle of the desert.
Very cool. Glad to hear you have had that experience. It is a whole new experience. Like you said it is like the iPhone when it came out. thanks for sharing.
I love my Vision Pros. Have had it nearly a couple of months. The media function is the absolutely best aspect about it. And it's only going to get better. Highly recommend. This technology is game changing.
Very nice video!, I personally love mine the more I own it and it’s definitely a device unlike any other. It’s definitely a device that the more you own it the more you understand it. And then you honestly don’t wanna go back to just a regular MacBook or desktop.(or Tv)
"Personas are 92% there and slightly freaky...." LOL
When I first heard of it, I couldn’t wait to buy one. I waited though for the reviews, and I think the cost is just too high to justify it right now. The only thing I’ve heard that might make it worth it is that recording video with the Vision Pro is better than trying to record video on the iPhone to watch on the Vision Pro later for the immersive effect.
That's because the 3D depth is weaker on the iPhone 15 Pro vs the Apple Vision Pro while recording 3D videos.
One of my fav Vision pro videos (I’ve watched them all lol). Can’t wait for this to become available in my country. Please more videos like this.
I watched this on my Meta Quest 3 headset while laying on my back doing my morning stretches. Hopefully in the future Quest will get a lot better, or Vision Pro will get a lot cheaper.
I appreciate your use cases. and positivity I use my AVP daily. Oh, and I too have accidentally recorded without audio :) A couple of notes: Disney+ has Hulu in the app. It's one now. You can also watch media like a movie with another AVP user. iPhone 5 spatial recordings are not recommended compared to just using the AVP or the rumored next gen iPhone.
As always, I appreciate your thoughts on the thing. For myself, I plan on waiting a few generations, but I’m guessing that they end up EVENTUALLY becoming as widespread as iPhones.
I did the demo when it launched. Very nice but I don’t think I’d use it enough for that price tag lol
I use mine daily and that included sometimes going outside with it to record a video of chasing my kids or playing a movie while walking back and forth doing light yard duties.
Immersishare is a daily go-to, as well.
Thank you Craig. 👍🏻
Because I don’t have any room free or big enough for my own home theatre, I‘ll definitely will buy one, when it becomes available in Europe. It is even cheaper than the whole home theatre stuff. And using it for Safari, Mail, other Apps and as a display for my Macs are welcome additional benefits.
And about the price for the Vision Pro: my Apple][ costed around 10000 DM (German Marks) in 1982, that would equal 5000 Euro today, and I haven’t added the inflation rate of the 42 years since then.
My IBM PS/2 Computer was even more expensive in 1988.
So now that I’m retired I won’t think twice about buying it, not knowing how much time I have left to live in peace in the EU, I’m going to order the Vision Pro as soon as possible.
Love your style! Your candid thoughts have really opened my mind. Thanks.
great review!!!!!
Good job. Too expensive for now but the possibilities are endless.
Wait in the next 5 years, there will be a cheaper version. I love my AVP. When I get of work every day I watch 3 hours of contents before going to bed at 9:30 pm. It is worth the money.
Hey Craig, like always a great informative video. Really enjoyed it and yes, I do agree with you as a replacement or an addition to a MacBook or an iPad the Vision Pro is a great addition to your workflow set up.
Thank you very much William. I hope you are doing well. I think that is the best way to look at the Vision Pro. If people look at it as just a VR or AR headset, it looks very expensive with no use.
The quest 3 can do all those movie watching features you mentioned the difference is you can inv others to watch unlike the AVP…. Quest 3 is way better and $3000 cheaper….
I'm excited for the uk release next month. I just wish there was a way to use it as external display for iPad. I don't have a macbook.
I wish you could do the iPad too. It would be such a great feature. Glad to hear the UK will be seeing it soon.
More pros than cons. Two cons only. 1. A little too heavy. 2. Cost. However, how much would it cost me to build a theater room in my home? More than 3.5k. I think when the new IOS for Vision drops, it will be more worth it. The movie experience is insane!
Thanks for sharing your experience. If you look at it as a TV it looks so overpriced. But if like you said, it is compared to a theater, it is hard to beat at the price. My brother in law spent far more for his home theater. The Vision Pro is still more immersive. Glad to hear you are enjoying yours.
The best reason for you to keep your AVP is so I can see that I do not currently need one. As I would buy it via my company, most likely, it needs to do something unique for my work environment. It does some things better, but most are just “different”.
I will be curious to see what they create for the new VP OS 2.0. Better still, I’ll look forward to you reviewing it so I can make informed decisions. Thanks, Craig.
🤣 I love it. I get to help keep that money in your wallet. You are right there is more "different" than new. Like you I am curious what VP OS 2.0 brings. Hopefully good announcements at WWDC next month. I appreciate you watching the video and for all your support. 🙏 I hope I can bring you some good content on this. Have a great day Dr. Cole.
Use my AVP everyday, loooooooove it. Great video
Thank you. 🙏 I am glad to hear you are loving yours. Thanks for sharing and for watching
Looks awesome but too many things that suggest it’s an entry level trial. Too expensive for me but perhaps in the future I’ll be tempted.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It is expensive and feels like a gen 1 product. The tough part is when will Apple update to a 2nd gen? Thanks for watching.
I love mine! I have not used my MacBook Sense. I highly recommend anyone watching this video. If you haven’t gone into Apple go to the demo before you make any decisions. None of these videos on CZcams give you the immersion experience. It’s something that you have to try first. It blows everything on the market out of the water. And yes, it’s worth every penny.
Entrainment & productivity uses are the key to the potential success of Vision Pro, both of which are going to require that battery life to significantly improve in future generation’s of the device
You are right on about that. It really needs to nail more of the productivity so people see it does more than just movies. The worse thing about the Vision Pro is the battery pack. It doesn’t last long enough and is annoying. The slippery battery and slightly too short cord is what keeps me from picking up the Vision Pro. With a built in battery, I think I would use it more.
How can you see the physical keyboard when wearing the Vision Pro?
You simply turn down the environment a little bit if it’s on. But for mine, like everything else you get used to it, and I rarely have to turn it down that much.
I am a writer and I like to write in different places, but I am always looking down. I am looking at it for this use mainly. When you are working on a manuscript for a few hours at a time the looking down can be a bit straining. I have actually noticed it is affecting my walking posture. I think this would solve many problems. At this time the main application I use doesn’t have a Vision Pro app, but can be run via a web browser, so is useable. I will need a keyboard, but everything else seems perfect.
I think this is a device you definitely have to try. There are so many variables. Do you enjoy the feel of the device? The viewing experience? Portability? This is a device I would not feel guilty using the return period. A small demo at the Apple Store is not enough. Lets us know if you get one and your experience. Thanks for watching.
The Ulysses testflight on AVP works wonderfully for long-form writing, IMHO.
So, no to my 75" Sony micro-LED TV and yes to the Vision Pro?
Still not sure I want to wait or buy it now. Cuz the battery pack ain’t it 😅
Nothing about AVP interests me. I have a Quest 2 and that's all I need for some VR fun.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for watching.
I can see how that could be useful and fun, but I'm not sure it worth the price.
wait for another year or two before better tech and price align.
Mine makes an amazing doorstop! 😃
Sounds good but almost everything you said it can do quest dose movie games use it for work. It’s going to have to be alot better in the future.
Theatre:
This will be replacing my 27" 4k 60Hz monitor that I used as both a gaming monitor and a TV, using the in-built speakers.
For gaming, I will be using screen mirroring with my MacBook, usually but not always paired with PS Remote Play.
I anticipate that my £800 monitor set-up will be upgraded to something much more fitting of a £3'500 device.
Native Gaming:
I do not have an iPad, but if I had one, I would use it primarily for gaming. Instead of an iPad, I will be getting a Vision Pro for games that used to be most optimal on iPad.
By not buying a 256GB M2 iPad, I am saving a starting price of £700.
Productivity:
This will be replacing my 13" M3 MacBook Air for that use case.
The MacBook cost me £1'200.
Programming:
This will be enhancing my M3 MacBook Air for that use case (I bought the MacBook specifically for this pairing. My old Windows 10 laptop was unable to keep up with my programming needs).
Browsing/Social Media/General Use:
This will replace my iPhone 11 and M3 MacBook in some cases. When I am in bed (both morning and night), my MacBook will probably be more comfortable. When I am mobile, my iPhone will be more convenient. But the rest of the time, I am hoping that the Apple Vision Pro will merge my MacBook and iPhone into one device.
The iPhone cost me £600.
Cost:
By purchasing the Apple Vision Pro, I am hoping to (almost) replace £2'500 worth of tech with superior, current generation versions, For £3'500. £2'500 to replace the old tech, and £1'400 to improve my current tech solutions. I will get the 1TB version (for absolutely no real reason), bumping the price up to £3'900.
If my use-cases are significantly inferior to what I expect from them, I will probably consider returning it. I am just waiting for a UK release.
Just wait. An always on multimodal AI will be there to give you superhuman, sight, knowledge, sound, advice etc. it will be awesome. Nothing to be seen right now, but very soon.
Amazed that there isn’t substantial mixed reality content or support for for robust 3D integration with this device. At first I thought Zuckerberg’s video from just after the release was just him trolling, but having compared the devices, his assessment was right.Resizable screens are available on the quest and even on the 2014 HoloLens. That said, if Siri ends up leveraging the new multimodal open AI model, there may be some value in having the product with that level of assistant, but at this point it’s not useful.
You said “limited” 3500 (dollars) times in this video. I feel like it needs to pair with a typewriter…
can’t afford to buy
Honestly there isn’t any reason that would me make even thinking about investing this massive amount of money to get these benefits. May be in the future, who knows…
sounds like a weaker version of the Meta Quest
Wait are you Elon Musk's brother? 🤔
If those are the "practical" uses, there's no future for it, we'd better focus on industrial or medical uses
The only thing I would use this is solely to fly a drone other than that it's pretty useless.
It would be cool for drone flying. I would love to see an immersive drone experience
@@CraigsTechTalk You know it would be fantastic if Apple would consider either making its own drones or partnering with the dozens of drone makers in the US. But I would really would like to see them partnering with NASA to send one to Mars, imagine watching a view of Mars in real time as it flies around the terrain! Keeping my fingers crossed.
It's very meh, and so expensive it makes no sense other than for those "philes" that think they need Apple. The battery pack is a joke.
Gimme a break, my relatives spend more on jewelry 🙄
@@Tonabillity was the most pointless comment ever...however.... they spend more, so do they have more money than you? So, you can't afford this Apple thingy?
@@saintuk70 My point is that everyone is complaining about how expensive AVP is, when people frequently spend much more on much less
I even sell paintings for more than $3500, and they do nothing but hang on walls
I think that it’s futile to dictate how people should spend their OWN money 🧐
It’s OK if you see it as pointless.
It’s just ONE opinion from some random guy on the net.
I’m not asking anyone to agree agree with me.
Is that clear enough for you? 🤷🏾
@@Tonabillity Totally agree people are concerned on how others spend their money...this device could be 10k and its no ones business if you choose to spend that much .. 🤷🏾♂
@@Symbiotix_Gamer Exactly.
Besides, why are fandroids on Apple threads in the first place??
That is so weird
It wouldn’t even occur to me to go out of my way to lurk on android threads, to complain about products that I don’t even use.
That never made ANY sense to me 🤷🏾
