  • Im learning to Endo 180, Stoppie 180, Nose 180, Endo Pivot, or whatever you want to call it! It's time to finally start progressing as a Mountain Biker. So this is the trick Im starting with.
    I think everyone has a fear of going over the bars so I felt like this was a great trick to start with in order to get comfortable on the tipping point. And you'll definitely get comfortable hanging out on the nose of your bike if you try to learn this trick!

The heartland of the two most dangerous snakes on earth, crocodiles, cassowaries, wild giant pythons to go along with it and wildboars, mad goats, heat exhausted farm stock like bulls and deadly spiders but you will rarely ever find yourself come across one.

      Manuals take ages to learn and even longer to get good at, from experience it's kind of something that you keep doing with really small improvements each time. To make it into a video would take serious effort to make decent progression. If you're interested a guy called Mike Boyde from learn quick has a really good video on his progression.

      @svenpixa Před 4 lety

      Exactly, looking where you want to turn to plus getting your body (not the back wheel) as exactly as possible over your front hub are the keys for endo 180s - no matter whether you're doing this on a short dirt jumper or a long, low and slack 29er enduro

    Not sure if anyone commented it before, but what really helped me learning this skill. Turn your head and focus the way you want to go. You are easily fixed on the one spot your front wheel stop. This will cause all sort of problems, only focus on the stop then turn body to get momentum and then head to find your exit :) You did it a couple of times and it looked so much smoother.

    What helped my friend a lot: use the front wheel. You are very likely to quickly get into a position where you can't move further. Turn the front wheel slightly towards the direction which you want to turn in, while beeing in the air, turn it slowly in the other direction it helps to cross the unmovable position.
    As you can see, he figured it out without knowing throughout the training sessions.

    A quick way to recover Hydraulic soft 'brake handles to the bar' 4:01 (other than the obvious needed bleed) is to pull them on tight and tap the tube to loosen any air bubbles. (sometimes holding the bike on its rear wheel with the rear brake handle upper most for rear brakes).
    Holding the brake on will shrink the bubble allowing it to move more freely up the line.
    Sometimes pulling them tight followed by a quick release (rinse repeat) easiest using one finger then let the lever flick free.
    You can put a zip tie or bit of wire on the handle to hold it while you tap air to the handle.
    For the front you may need to lean the bike over so the front brake handle is uppermost.Internationally, motorbike front brake levers are on the right... confusing why some countries chose bikes on the left when your right wrist is generally the strongest (I'm ambidextrous but wouldn't ride left front as it would stand a chance of killing me if I went back to the motorbike!)

    You’ll do it easier if you fully commit and turn into it, also lower your seat, and learn to turn bars and keep weight central over your bike so you stay upright, it’ll lead to other cool stuff though! You can lock back break when you land and rotate 180 again on the back wheel after to go forwards, I even learned to do a full 360 on my back wheel after the 180 endo. Keep going your bike looks very nice too and your home set up! 🤘🏻👍🏻

    :} and that's a fast learning curve... for most ppl it takes a bit longer to get the same results..
    one thing though, the more 'tricks' one learns, the faster new ones click (up to a point).
    in this particular example, if one already can ride backwards for more than a couple of feet, keeping balance after landing the Endo 180 is obviously much easier.. if one can wheelie, lateral balance is much easier when learning to manual... etc.. things are way more difficult at first, like WAY more, but it's just a matter of time, it really is.

    With the Sram Guide brakes you have , there are 2 knobs , 1 to adjust the bite point and 1 to adjust the reach so if you test which one , you’re brakes won’t pull to the handlebars . It could also be a bad brake bleed causing them to pull to the bars

    You definitely landed it Seth! You don't have to go a FULL 180 degrees, 179 is fine ;)

    Great edit..! It's going to take practice and time to polish the move up. But the progress you've made is awesome. If you were on a trail and needed to endo turn. You have the move consistent enough to execute it. Good luck with the practice and I'm looking forward to more progression edits

    Nice to see you got it pretty good. I'm leaning the mtb essentials too and getting better at what I already know.

    For trail riding, 150 degree pivoes does the trick on tight downhill switchbacks.

    Some great tips for endos keeping wheel pressure high running tires with less tread and practicing on road helps as its easier to allow your front wheel to pivot

    For me getting closer to mastering this trick what helped was if you come in leaning to the opposite direction of we're my rear tire is going, I don't fall off when my rear tire touches the ground. (Does that makes sense to any one) kinda shown at 3:31

    It would definitely help if you preloaded the suspension to pop you into the endo, also a bit more speed would help you carry momentum into the endo. Hope this helps.

    very cool to see progression.. i learned my 180 endos from trackstand so it is interesting to see learning from movement.. i feel like it is harder to be consistent because of variations in approaching speed.. but it is easier to get rear wheel up and rotation going.. maybe you should try one from trackstand also..
    doing another 180 after landing rear wheel is also lots of fun.. just lock back brake upon landing, weight shift back a bit, pop front up and continue rotation.. it comes very natural after endo 180..

    4:07 one hexa screw driver and you can re index it properly, but keep in mind to change the worn brake pad when needed

    To be able to do it 100% ya gotta try it on a trail to reverse the direction without going off trail. Nice work! I'd say 95% of the way...👍

    Try to squeeze both your brakes so when your back wheel comes down you can pivot on you back wheel

  • @xxxUPGRAYEDDxxx
    @xxxUPGRAYEDDxxx Před 4 lety

    the key to this.. .is after the 180.. you need to be able to roll backward, and 180 out... essentially a 360 in total.. I recommend practicing the rolling back and 180 out first, as it is actually easier, but getting used to rolling backwards is the more difficult part
    also, you need to work on rotating the bars with the bike durring the endo 180, it will make it feel much smoother, although it will be more difficult on the grass as the wheel will stick.

    You did really well now starting out. Try pivoting on your tire rather than swinging the bike frame.
