  • Daikin H9 fault, faulty $15.00 sensor, but another repair company said “the inverter pc board is faulty and not worth repairing” tried to sell them a new 3.5K-4K system 😳

Good on you, my 94 year old mother got a guy from OBrians in Adelaide he just cleaned it and charged $340 mentioned that a new unit was likely. The symptoms are the inverter compressor is not "ramping either up of down" . I myself found that one could use the remote to get the error code. Rang my mum up got her to use the remote and got the H9 code. Obvuoisly the guy really did not understand how the inverter split works. Also got my Mum to ring a Daiken specialist. Many thanks tahnks for this. As you said it takes a fair while to understand how these highly complex units really work.

H9 fault outdoor air sensor, so many electricians who have done a 2 day course with no ideal working in this field, the end user ends up paying.

    Thanks mate 👍
My parents Daikin Inverter went out on error code a couple of days ago. And the bloody warranty only expired last month, like it was planned.
I don't know what the error code is as yet, but should Daikin honour the warranty for the part as the warranty period has only expired 1 month ago? Or will they just say sorry bad luck mate ?

Daikin are pretty good with that, I think they would, did you get it from a Daikin dealer, talk to them 1st and ask them if it will be, if they say no, call daikin ask to talk the the services warranty team. Daikin know when the unit was sold / delivered to the daikin dealer, but that unit could sit in stock for a year or more before it gets installed. If it’s close to the date it was sold to the dealer they probably wouldn’t ask for a receipt, if it’s a long time past this date they will. Go through and use my fault finding video (daikin green flashing light) to work out what fault it is, it could be a very simple resettable fault.

      Hi mate,
I have an update for you.
I found the error code on my parents Daikin inverter to be L5 (Output Overcurrent). What does this exactly mean and what part needs to be replaced to fix this and can it be done ourselves if we buy the part?
      Thanks mate 👍

@@2theCore777 I copped this from the repair manual:
      Description
      Inverter compressor motor shorted.
      Faulty power transistor/ inverter
      PCB/ compressor.
      Abnormal supply voltage.
      Recommended Actions
      For Model Type All
Excessive DC current flow in the DC section of the inverter. This is usually associated with a transistor issue such as a shorted transistor within the inverter, or the DC current sensing circuitry may be faulty. Note: this fault would normally become apparent prior to a compressor or fan motor startup.
Not a good fault have and not an easy fix. I would say from experience a faulty pc inverter board 99%. Possibly a faulty compressor or fan motor that has taken out the pc board, less likely but possible. You will need to call your local Daikin Dealer, hopefully you get this done under warranty.

I checked if the fan was seized & it spins freely, so hopefully it's the PC Board & not the compressor. We will start making some calls tomorrow & take it from there. Thanks again for all your help and advice and I'll keep you updated on the situation lol

    Hi @FullyAirconditioned,
I have a strange problem with my Daikin Perfera 2.5kw inside unit.... It doesn't heat up.... I wait 15 min. After that the vents are just open but is no coming got air or cold air and it doesn't trigger a fault code... Help me with it!!

    • @FullyAirconditioned
      @FullyAirconditioned  Před rokem +2

Are you running it in heating or cooling ? If in heating it won’t blow any air until the coil hears up, about 2-5 min, in coiling it blows straight away. If it’s in heating then it could be trying to start up but a fault is detected and it shuts down again, then try’s to restart. With some faults it will come up straight away like a open circuit sensor. But other faults it will try and restart like e7, fan fault. It will try and restart 16 times, each time the restart process takes about 5 - 7min, so it could take 1-5 hours or so to come up with a fault. Turn it on, set for heating, set temp to its maximum and let it go for at least 1.5 - 2 hours. If still no fault and not heating, you will need to call your local Daikin authorised repairer.

      @@FullyAirconditioned Thanks for your reply!
Yes its in heating mode. the first 5 min is blowing normal air while its being on Heating mode 30c.
Then after 10 min. it stops blowing air, but the vents are open, no code error or fault code yet. After 1 hour still nothing...
I will let it go for couple hours as you said. And tomorrow I will call the Daikin support phone to maby look from remote or something.
What do you think what is wrong? Its brand new.
Let you further know what are the developend on this case.

If it’s a split type or VRV it’s a adapter card faulty, if it’s a package unit it’s a general fault with the system.

I had one of those systems terrible. The cleaning process is ridiculous. I had it professionally cleaned twice in one year . squirrel Cage fan have to take it out.and it’s a process..I took the whole system out and replaced it….👎

Are talking about the indoor unit ? The indoor one needs cleaning like every 6 weeks say. Outdoor unit should Hardley need any maintenance. The outdoor unit has a circular Fan blade, not a squirrel cage. I would hate to get at the fan in the indoor unit.
