In this video I provide a detailed review of the Hohem Mic-01 wireless microphone and discuss several features of the Hohem Mic-01. About 90% of the audio in this video was filmed using this wireless mic. In addition, I provide several comparisons of the audio from this mic vs the audio of the microphone on other devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro, iPad Pro, GoPro Hero 12, Insta360 Ace Pro, and the DJI Osmo Action 4.

90% of this video was filmed using the Hohem Mic-01 for the audio. What do you think about the audio quality of the Hohem Mic-01?
One big drawback with the 2-channel implementation, is that both channels are panned centrally- so you can't access the channel recordings separately to gate or mix them. (You CAN do this by retrieving the files from the transmitters, but it is a little cumbersome to do that every time)
Other than that they aren't bad for the price, considering the on-device recording feature and lav mic inputs.

This a great video, those comparisons with the most used camera and action cam really shows the difference of the qualities of each mic. Thank you for this, I was thinking of buying the DJI but, I'm not a vlogger, just for family use. I'm sold with the Hohem though, really good quality.
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, I am happy with the quality of the Hohem Mic-01 and for the price I like the value this kit provides. Even if the quality isn’t quite as good as some more costly options the consideration then needs to be how good is good enough? For family use and vlogging use I think this mic kit is excellent.
By the way- if you are not using the wireless receiver to actually record from your action cams, you can use it as a convenient wireless monitor to check the audio- plug in headphones, and provide it some USB power (from a USB battery pack, or the USB C port on a computer or iPhone) and just pop it in your pocket

Impressive. I have a Fulaim X5 which I use with my iphone12pm. Though the Hohem is cheaper, I think the Hohem audio gives a richer sound.

Windslayer makes a foam that wraps around the whole GoPro but it can be a bit clunky to use. If you want muffs that are more precise to the mics on the GoPro I recommend trying these out. They aren’t perfect but they do help: amzn.to/3RQXZq0
It seems there’s a mismatch between the video movement of your lips and sound sometimes when using this mic. Is that and edit problem or a mic problem?
Good catch. There are a few scenes near the middle where I was using some scenes of b-roll from a different segment I filmed where it isn’t intended to have the same audio but there is also a scene where the audio should match but on my timeline it looks like I inadvertently adjusted that clip in a way that bumped the audio off by a fraction.
So, an edit problem and not a mic problem 😂
So it works plugged into the pocket 3, but not the Action 4 or Ace Pro? Does it just not physically line up with the USB-C ports on those cameras?
So here is what I found.
Yes, it works plugged into the Pocket 3.
The GoPro Hero 12 it cannot physically plug in all the way via the camera USB port, even with the door off. Media Mod or TRS cable and adapter it will work with.
The DJI Osmo Action 4 it can just barely plug into the USB-C port enough to power the receiver but it is at an angle and not really secure. So a TRS cable with adapter would be the best option to physically secure it to the Osmo Action 4 as well.
The Insta360 Ace Pro it will not fit into the USB-C port due to the design of the camera. I do own the Mic adapter for the Ace Pro but the USB-C port on the mic adapter does not power the receiver. It seems like this USB-C port on the adapter is only for incoming charging power. The 3.5mm port on the mic adapter may work but I did not confirm this aspect of it.

Mainly wanted to interface it with Insta360 X2 USB-C for 'real-time' recording. You mentioned it won't work, will use its adapter for TRS 3.5mm.
Honestly torn between Neewer CM28 and this one..
