The notion of a "history geek" or a "history buff" is irritating. All people, I mean all, regardless of their professional preferences should have a fundamental appreciation and knowledge of history. It tells us how we got here and very often where we are going. It arms us, like all knowledge arms us, against the lairs and scallywags that pervades our politics and power centers.
You got a sponsor! Congratulations.
“Just a history geek that wants to drive the Bismarck”
Yeah I'm definitely in the camp that's happy to see you got a sponsor.
The Spaniards are heroes!
The guys on the RC Hudson showed great courage. They epitomized the saying "you have to go out but you don't have to come back."
Fun fact: In the Battle of Manila Bay the US squadron fired thousands of shells yet scored only a few dozen hits on a handful of ships. From memory, the hit rate was something like 2%. The main reason Dewey's sailors prevailed was because the Spaniards were even worse shots. I can't remember where I learned this and am too lazy to track it down, maybe someone else can fill in the details.
'Odd little snippets of forgotten history.' Best motto ever, congratulations on sponsor'ship'.....
Customize a ship to fit your style? Well, if I see a battleship with a bowtie I know who I am playing against.
It's about time you got a sponsor. Congratulations Mr history guy, I hope you get many more in the future.
Man WoWS is really pushing the Carrier update XD
I worked with a retired Coastie for many years. Always enjoyed his stories about the history of his service branch, along with the tales of his journeys to the Arctic and Antarctic.
You're not an old fart! You're the History Guy!😁
An FYI for anyone interested in world naval history. The CZcams channel Drachinifel, a naval historigrapher, offers rather detailed discussions of most of the important ships in various world navies from roughly the early 19th century through WWII, as well as discussions of various battles, naval events, fleet histories, naval architectural innivations, and tactics. The developer is a Royal Navy officer and very knowledgeable. His videos are excellent.
A sponsor! I play world of warships daily, and the phone version is a lot of fun as well. Glad to see you getting paid History guy!
Another great snippet of history. Congratulations on your sponsorship.
Another excellent episode! Thank you for what you do. Congratulations on obtaining a sponsor as well. This is the greatest channel on youtube in my opinion, so it is well deserved!

I am SO glad that a sponsor has picked you up!! Congrats. You did a great job representing the game for us who were born in the Atari Era. I'll have to give it a try.
I get all giddy like a little school boy every time I see theres a new History Guy video. As usual, the giddiness was warranted. The video did not disappoint.
