- We got a rude awakening this week when a local troublemaker attacked our narrowboat early one morning. Luckily Vic was able to catch him on camera, watch till the end for a behind the scenes look at the stand off.
For those of you just joining us, welcome! We're Vic and Jo and we've been narrowboating around the UK for the last few years on our 54ft narrowboat Zero. Last year we decided to give up our jobs in the city and add another boat to our fleet in hope of turning it into a travelling cafe and becoming full time boating baristas.

Vic, I think you’re a natural for filling David Attenborough’s shoes in the more dangerous assignments like stalking the elusive and ferocious canal squirrel. Well done laddie. Thanks to you and Jo for sharing your wonderful journey. For a few minutes each week I’m transported to the peaceful and beautiful canals that are your domain.

I was going to say what Kathy Barns said and felt dreadful but was a little confused when the vid started with Jo smiling and yacking normally and, it wasn't until squirrel nutkins started dropping his debris onto the roof of your boat that I had to smile and breathed a sigh of relief! Vic's ending to the vid was classic! Well done both. Good luck to you!

Our hearts sank when we read your title. So glad it was only nuts falling. Your 15 minute or so clip is our start to the weekend after a stressful week and missed you last Friday. Would love a coffee from Holly but no canals in the Scottish Borders.
Squirrels are my favourites! Cutest animal of the forrest. Interesting too to see Armitage from the street-side, several of the boats I follow have passed it and talked about it so getting to see a little more was great.

I won't deny that my blood pressure surged when i saw that you had been vandalized. Wanting to return to a relaxed and joyful exterior, there was a significant delay in thoroughly evaluating this weeks contribution to my personal enjoyment. The guilt was daunting but eventually I was able to overcome the hesitation and get it over with. Whew! Very glad it's over....
In spite of the hair raising and very intentional sabotage to your boat, one MUST admit that this WAS a very enjoyable aspect to this vlog. The attempts to document the culprit actively vandalizing the boat was both admirable and humorous. I am truly disappointed to say that as well as you documented the culprit in the act, his(her?) attire was clearly well thought out. While nothing stood out in a crowd, he/she/it managed to camouflage even the slightest identifying feature. No tattoos or other identifiable marks apparent. I am afraid that it will be difficult to prosecute, but fairly simple to duplicate. Such behavior MUST be STOPPED!
Thank you for editing and uploading such a wonderful vlog in spite of such tragic and PERSONAL trauma. You are both absolute professionals, from beginning to end. I am proud to have witnessed, second hand, your brilliant performance.

Victor the great 'naturist' on a mission to capture squirrels in their natural habitat. Now I'm jealous, I am going to have to order myself a tote bag.
We had squirrels in a tree in our garden ... they do actually throw nut shells at you ... and they really are quite good shots! At first we thought it was next door throwing things at us for a joke until we realised who the real culprits were !
Great vlogs ... and don’t be worrying about the way you look Jo ... you look absolutely radiant! ... Although I must admit that if I had posted footage of my wife’s bum walking along a towpath on t’internet I probably wouldn’t be able to type for a couple of weeks or so!

Hi Guys. That was a traumatic vid. When I saw the title I thought, 'send me the photo and I'll send the lads round.' Then I saw you had 9 views. What is happening? Then I saw it was a few minutes after your upload. Loved the ending. If you are that keen on squirrel videos, come to our garden to see them running all over the trees. And re-planting our bulbs.

At first I thought 'oh no!!' then realized that the Yob's were squirrels! lol....they can be sooo territorial! And it looked like a Mum squirrel which would explain her pelting things at the boat! I used to have a garden in a very populated squirrel neighborhood, and they would wait for me to drive up and park, and while I was gardening at the allotment, they would chuck things at my car...acorns, twiggy leaves...!

Keep doing your normal stuff when pregnant. That’s what we did, cycling, walking everything. We only had to stop for the last couple of months.
I also was concerned that Jo was given the "don't do this/that/the other"...propaganda during pregnancy. Unless there is some condition that puts the pregnancy at risk, maintaining a normal routine is crucial.
