Isn't psychology and self-help also a hobby that INFJs are hardwired?
I have several other Hobbies that is the realm of my "Se" and I deep dive into learning all I can about it from technical mechanics to abstract artistic expressions.
I always thought true INFJs are deep wells of information pertaining to their (our) hardwired functions, and not shallow (walls)?
Walls is a dysfunctional personal boundary function that starves a person of human connection, of life sustaining emotional energy.

I generally loose interest in something when narcissistic people come along and interfere. Example I converted my Passat to electric after several diesel engine swaps, tested it, drove it around on the farm, started preparing on finishing it and a member of the family made a comment about the cost of batteries and I just lost interest in the project on the spot, that was 10 years ago. Last year I bought a Unimog and because of a comment by the same person, I parked it up and haven't touched it in 15 months... genuine INFJ mind set.

Against my inner will, I set it outside, and let it rust, badly
I'm not gloating I feel shameful about it. This type of thing is an issue I can't control. Self sabotaged, again. All I can do is shake my head and wonder why.

I’ve been very gifted my whole life. I master things immediately, retain the knowledge, then move on to some other challenge. There are a few hobbies I’ve kept over the years that I have an on/off switch for. And I don’t think it’s bc I have hit a wall with them. I just find an obsessive interest in something else that I haven’t been doing for 20 yrs. And then 18-22 months later, I’ll go back to the other 20 yr old hobbies. And then something else piques my interest and the cycle continues.

Bo, you have outlined several effective tools for the INFJ wall.
(tools I have employed and continue to employ)
I personally wish that there was an underlying *solution* (not what feels like ongoing and exhausting bouts of symptom management). I'd really like some explosives for the INFJ Wall.
Employing the many tools it takes to "manage" my life at any given time does not allow me to feel like I am living my life. Things get accomplished, but I am hella tired, soul-crushingly bored, and feel no real satisfaction.
If I feel like I am "living", the outcomes are giant wakes of chaos. Although I feel much less bored and more satisfied (though I am not "accomplishing anything"), I am a huge liability. (sounds rather "grippy", tbh)
Would like to find the one dang thing (Ikigai) to do/work on that ticks all the dang boxes enough to where soul-crushing boredom is not exhaustingly pervasive.
*I spy the MBTI certs binder.

He wanted to talk to me, we went to his room, I heard about him being a POW, seeing friends die, and so much more. It hit my heart like nothing else! It's because of that brave veteran I went to school to be an OT where I could give something back to our soldiers through rehabilitation and one on one conversation, etc. I meet veterans who don't know the background and tell me it's like I was born to do this job. It's a tremendous honor to care for them. It's an interesting however heartbreaking historical interest, but I get it 100%!

So, I don't know how "well read" you are on these grand scaled things, but please be before considering that. Most people are ABSOLUTELY NOT having any sort of disorder, we are just unique.

Can of course in some cases be clear cases of differentiation from the "normal", but as an INFJ-ego you should really, really deep dive with yourself truthfully and widely for perspectives of the identity you had threw your whole life. Try to get it objective to.

Thank you for your latest video. Very interesting!
I have a question for you though: I heard somewhere that INFJs have a special relationship to beauty, i.e. INFJs are particularly moved by things of beauty, e.g. art, nature etc. Given that INFJs inferior function is extroverted sensing, this does not seem to make sense. You would think that they would not be moved by things of an aesthetic nature as their sensing nature is the least developed. Can you please comment on this? Thank you!

    • @ispeakpeople

The comment about the special relationship between INFJs and beauty came from a video by Psychology Geek and it was something that was almost mentioned just in passing but I found it intriguing. I tried to have him explain further but did not get a response. I will certainly consider what you have said. You know of course that INFJs tend to be the most poetic of the types and have a facility with metaphors. Maybe beauty just ends up being a doorway into the INFJ subconscious and inspires the vast store of meaning and possibility they can tap into to burst out! Anyway, thank you again!

In a way I find that I'm disappointed in people I get close to. Invest a lot of time and effort in someone and then end up feeling somewhat despondent.
It is tough being in a relationship, particularly if someone attaches themselves to you when you are just starting interest in a new topic and investigating them. Then you reach that point and move onto something else for a while. At this time the other person is left wondering why you aren't so interested anymore in this topic which brought you so close together and perhaps they feel pushed out by that.
