UPDATE : IT HAS BEEN THREE WEEKS NOW !! CHECK OUT THE VIDEO WHERE I TASTE IT !!!!!..............My father taught me this recipe forty years ago. He started making this in the 1940's and learned from his dad who was an old moonshiner. My dad made a batch that was ready in three days. He sat it in the back of an old car in the summer and rolled up all the windows. Dad took it to my grandmother's house one Christmas. She thought it was just juice and drank a big water glass full. Only time I EVER saw her dance. - Jak na to + styl
Don’t listen to anyone’s homemade wine recipe if they don’t look like this
👍🏽
Exactly why I clicked this video lol
@@danielzapien24 😂
How can I store it. Can I put it in the fridge
Tank you sir I maed like you said it tastes better than you can buy.😊❤
Wine experts * everything needs to be sterilized and clean. Doing it cheap* harbor freight funnel and garden hose. Keep up the great work!
My funnel and water hose were clean !!! LOL !!! I love watching the wine experts' heads explode !!
Yea and tested with hydrometer then add some kind of tablet. Then add some kind of acid..wth. they been making wine for thousands and thousands of years. Pretty sure they didnt have all that
Papa I would like to no for each can of grape juice pour 3 cups of sugar
I am laughing while watching this because kids these day don't know what it's like to get an ice cold drink from the garden hose on a hot summer day! Thank you for the video. I will be trying to make this!
Paw paw , homemade wine sure taste better than store bought, must be all the preservatives and other junk cause I get headaches from store wine. Thanks for showing me how to make my own with no headaches.
Check out my winemaking Playlist and thank you for subscribing.

I died when you brought out the hose. Brings me home!
Yes!
For anyone who is wandering. I made this wine I am drinking it right now. Omg thank you so much paw paw. I've drank wine before never liked it but this I love. I let it go from August 25th of 2019 until September 16th of 2019. People if you want to have a good sipping wine or dinner wine. Follow pawpaw's instructions to a T and you will end up with great wine to drink and or share with loved ones.
Wow I always hope for these kind of updates. I'm brewing all sorts of stuff, so I will be looking forward to using this recipe
Thank you for the update! It'll give me the confidence to start a batch or many with this method. I bought a house this year and they left all their wine making supplies, grape juice from the grape vines and 20+ of those glass gallon jugs!
love the video, so many wine makers on youtube think they need to be in a sterile room provided by the CDC to make wine, and also the chemicals like "yeast nutrient".. the Egyptians Im sure didnt have all that crap in their wine..
I tried the recipe three weeks ago and I was not disappointed!! I used a white cran-peach and racked it tonight. Had to sample and me and the wife really like it
Water hose water is SO GOOD!!!! Growing up as a kid, my friends and I would drink from the water hose when we were outside playing and would get thirty. Seeing that water hose brings back a lot of fond memories. I know your wine is going to be delicious!
I can't sing enough praises to this man's wine! follow his instructions just like he says, and the results will blow you away! plus pawpaw is fun to watch, I love to listen to him talk.
I love the southern accent, country songs, line dance, and your video.
Cheers from Syria, in the other half of the world.
I'll drink for that.
I made pineapple wine from a fresh pineapple that turned out sweet and pleasant to drink ! I remembered your instructions as to putting it away and leaving it alone.....in that time period it cleared to a beautiful color....so clear you could see right thru it...thanks for your advise!
Uncle Jessie! you and them duke boys kept me entertained in the 80's
I’ve seen homemade wine videos where they say disinfect this and that. Scare you out of making it. This is the kind of wine my Grandma use to make. Been wanting to try it for years. Thank you!
this is the only guy i'd trust to teach me how to make any homemade booze...
We need a moonshine video! Get yer stills out!
Sir you are the definition of CHILL, from now on you are my spiritual friend :) god bless you
"He used to send me pictures of the Broadway nights, and I'd send him some homemade wine.."
I was gonna ask if he knew Jeremiah? Yaknow he was a bullfrog? I never understood a single word he said...
😂 i LOVE IT.. He got the garden hose!! YAAAAAASSSSSS 😂
First time I made wine when I was young, I sealed it back in wine bottles with a cork 2 days later at about 3am I heard a 12 gun salute in my broom closet. It was a mess and my small place smelled like a brewery. What can I say,you live you learn.
I finally see it, Santa making me wine for Christmas
Your description box story about your grandmother and her "juice" put a smile on my face... Love it!!
10:50 got me dead...theee funniest, original, most sincere thing I've heard..
I actually homebrew beer and went to my local brewing supplier and he gave me a glass of a wine he had made..it was VERY high alcohol content LOL...I was shocked when I asked his ingredients...he laughed and told me how he made it. It was very close to this, the only difference is he did his in a larger batch, 5 gallons. He used liquid Concord grape juice and with the sugar, he slowly added his sugar to boiling water, dissolving the sugar into the water until it was very thick, then added it to the juice after it cooled. As to the yeast he used a champagne yeast. I am not a wine drinker and was really shocked at how good it was
This is very good. lots of good tips, thanks for sharing your method.
This man is my hero, if I would of met him in high school I never would of wasted my money in college.
LOL !! Tell other folks Adam and help my channel grow !!
My husband and I appreciate you taking the time to share your wonderfully cheap wine making techniques and we also LOVE YOUR DOWN HOME COUNTRY WAY"S AND WIT. Your a CHARMING FELLA !!! God Bless you now and always.
make sure you watch my other wine videos where I simplify the technique and give accurate measurements.
Garden hose, soup can, HF funnels, bread yeast, no airlock...sure beats some of these science class winemaking sessions on YT.
Also watch my Beginner Tutorial. Just do a search for it on my homepage.
Also a stick. Good old fashioned ingenuity right there.
"If you have a constipation problems .... (don't know how to write this sound ;d);
Dad took it to my grandmother's house one Christmas. She thought it was just juice and drank a big water glass full. Only time I EVER saw her dance."
My MAN you are HILARIOUS, NOW I have a great humor to the rest of this day and probably tomorrow too.
My grandma did wine in a similar way (with closing a bottle) but she was squeezing the juice out of the fruits and we are from Poland in Europe, well her body is dead now but her legacy (genes) is running through my veins now, don't know why but just wanted that to share with you :D.
Subscribed and liked
Have a WONDERFUL year.
Cheers
Simply enough Pawpaw I've been making great wine since watching this video 2-3 years ago. If you don't understand wine making after this you never will. Fantastic video brother
Right on Mr. PawPaw! My father was the greatest chef I've ever known and he never measured anything. It was always a pinch of this a little of that about yay much of the other. The results were fantastic. He would make pineapple wine to die for and his soups and casseroles were legendary. Great video and thank you. I'm a fan for sure.
Gracias mi compadre !
Got two batches going. My first one will be done tomorrow. Didn't follow this recipe exactly, but it gave me the knowledge I wanted. Great job! Wine is amazing.
Wonderful! I didn't know I could use regular yeast! I love being able to do things with what I ALREADY have instead of having to buy specialty expensive stuff! Thanks so much for the education!!
I made my first batch with a look through the cabinets
You have a great speaking voice, and a natural teacher. Merry Christmas!
I did it, followed the recipe 100% and turned out amazing, thank you very much Sir.
i love your style paw paw!!! dont worry about minutia and just get the job done!!
im going to live my life by your philosophy. i saw your videos so many times!
thank you for all the videos you made, and sharing your wisdom. its something hard to find nowdays! you are a great teacher to me!
I've been watching wine videos for days and this is literally the best wine video I've seen yet.
We got a load of peaches off our tree this year and I got a gallon bag of sliced frozen apples from last year....this is going to happen.
Thanks so much for the video!!!
Go to my channel... after you subscribe....click PLAYLISTS. Scroll down a page or two and watch the PLAYLIST VINTAGE RECIPES. I have a handful of videos on the making the wine and every question you could possibly have will be answered ! Welcome and thanks for watching !
Just as an added precaution, I also put a ziplock or sandwich bag with a rubber band over the cracked open lid, where the rubber band is below the lid, so that it doesn't interfere with the lid itself. It just probably helps trap some more co2, not necessary and no idea if it actually helps, but it's fun.
You are Awesome, I could watch you all day. Your real, not fake like most. You should have your own tv show.
I remember making some in my younger days. I don't know what I did, but it tasted like bread and got me the drunkest I've ever been in my life!
Seriously tho this guy reminds me of my great uncle. Great guy. More of a father to me than my real dad👍
He looks like he came off of an oldddd Christmas movie with his beard and the way he looks talking. best video ever. if I find the name of the movie I'll post it
LOL !!! Thanks for watching and I do play Santa at Christmas for the kids.
I love this guy.... straight country living!!! Im gonna try this with the gallon milk jugs... thanks so much
PawPaw, we are indebted to ya! Thank you so much for taking the fear out of winemaking. Back in November, we followed your instructions (just using white grape juice rather than the concentrate) and last night sampled our first-ever batch of homemade wine: totally delicious - and better still, no hangovers to speak of! You're the best - thank you! xx
im making wine for my mom as a mothers day gift and this truly helped me THANK YOU SIR!!!
Love this guy. Simple is so pleasant.
I’ve been looking at wine making videos for a few hours now, but this video was the most informative / entertaining. Thanks!

Thank you so much 😀 ! I hope you subscribe also !!
The wifey and I have been getting a lil serious about wine making, (15+ gallons at a time, bottling machine, labels etc) and it's incredible how difficult people make it sound on the internet.
Just remember that fermentation goes back about as far as written history, if it was such a difficult process that involved surgical levels of sterlization... wine making wouldnt have existed till a hundred years ago.
Just have common sense about it and you will never lose a batch.
Out of 5 runs and with just the heads on our shoulders and no obscure chemicals we've havent seen a failure.
If you like this video you will get a good laugh at my moron wine. Check out the playlist about wine on my homepage. And thanks for subscribing !
I like your down to earth teaching.
Thanks paw paw, its this video that got me over the hump to actually start wine/ mead making. It was the simplicity, low cost, and ‘poke at it with a stick’ stuff that sold me on it. Thankyou!
Make sure you go to my homepage and using the magnifying glass, search for Beginner Tutorial. Watch it before you do anything. Thanks for watching !
I remember as a kid my parents always had three or four gallons jugs of wine fermenting on the counter in the kitchen. It was fun to watch the balloons expand and deflate. You are right. That's some good wine! I really enjoy your channel. Happy new year!
I'm so happy I found your videos!!! I used to make homemade wine at my grandpa's house years ago in Florida. I'm starting making wine again and I was I got annoyed at all the uppity videos of people insisting I use expensive equipment and custom ingredients we never used. You know the practical, down home methods that I want to use.
People think you'll die if you don't use expensive, specialized equipment and ingredients. It's good to see you teaching people that wine making can be simple and versatile. Thank you!
Watch my other wine videos. I simplify the process a LOT more. Make wine in 40 Seconds
Best video ever. Learned and laughed at the same time. Thank you sir.
Gonna try this and thanks for showing us a down to earth version on how to make wine the easy way
You are making my day, now I have to go shopping, have a hankering for some cheap wine made by me, right at home. What could be better then enjoying my own efforts in such a satisfying way!
The greatest wine maker here on CZcams. I have to try this sometime 😊
The wine must be real good but what I liked more is your great personality. God Bless thank you.
Thank you Sir. I love the simplicity of your instructions. I am in the process of making some muscadine wine here in Alabama and I will definitely use your knowledge in the future.
This has got to be the best diy wine making video. You got me to finally try it. Thank you for the video and thank you for your service.
This old dude is cool asf!!!
Best water ever. Remember when we was kids out playing all day in the sun? We’d get thirsty and drink out of the garden hose. Best water ever. Always tasted special. 😂 lol. Who knew it was used to make the best wine you ever had?
Hey Paw paw, I made my wine and it is GREAT!! Thanks for teaching me! If I could have a paw paw he would be just like you!
Greatest How to Video i´ve ever seen! So simple, no BS. and hilarious! Keep up the good work my friend!
Thanks for this video. My type of thing. Down to earth and cheap
you rock. I just love how you used the hose.
This is now my favorite channel
I have been looking at wine making videos for days and this is the best and simplest one I have come across. Thank you so much! No matter what you are using for tools, these instructions work! Thank you! I am using fresh wine grapes off of my grape vine and I am using a latex glove, but that is the only difference. Just mash the grapes into must and then follow this video. I just started it today. Fingers crossed.
I wish you the best. Basically my recipe is one cup of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of yeast per quart of juice.
not only was this straight forward and informative, it was also entertaining to watch! thanks for the video
Make sure you watch the wine in 40 seconds video !!
This man reminds me of my papa. Good men!
Followed your directions and Just made my first ever 1.75 liter batch of white wine
Now the three week wait

You are an awesome guy. Man I hit subcribe about 10 seconds into this video because I knew it was going to be a goody for sure. God bless you Sir. Have a great day and a better tomorrow too.
Thank you for supporting my channel !!
Oh so that’s what Santa 🎅🏻 does during summer
You cannot explain this method any simpler than most I listened too.
And you wouldn't believe the questions I still get !! LOL !! BTW the tried and true recipe works out to one cup of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of yeast for every quart or liter of liquid.
love it!! you make your cheap wine EXACTLY the way I do. Even down to just cracking the lid slightly for the gasses to escape.
Thank you. I am new at making wine . Your video has inspired me .
great video! You've got 1 more subscriber. i enjoy the bit of humor you use also. years ago my grandma resorted to selling wine out of her house because she couldn't make it on her ssi check. she made all sorts of wines such as dandelion, tomato, elderberry, etc. that tomato wine would knock your socks off. her rule was buy it here drink it at home. much like you she didn't use any of the fancy equipment or techniques you see in videos today. she always placed a piece of toast with yeast on top of the liquid. the next day that piece of toast would cover the entire top of the bucket. she said it lets it breath and keeps the critters out. i was very young then and couldn't say if it did or not, but one thing was for sure though. she did 1 heck of a business out of her tiny little house.
Reporting back after making 5 gallons of the grape wine. Altered recipe slightly since I make beer also. Sterilized everything as you would when making beer. Also changed to 4 cups of sugar to raise ABV and yeast to 1 1/2 tsp. Boiled 16 ounces of raisins in 2 gallons of water, strained and then used the raisin juice to liquefy the sugar over low heat four cups at a time and used the juice equally in the 5 jugs since the raisin juice activates the yeast and it adds a little extra flavor. Put balloons with pin hole over top of used clean 1 gallon wine jugs just because I wanted to see the fermentation inflate the balloons. Wine completed making in 16 days total in a cool dark place away from any light and about 75 degrees in the house. ABV turned out to be 12%. Turned out sweet and just right alcohol wise. Live with my wife and mother in law who is not always easy to please and she poured out her gallon of store bought wine because she preferred yours. Have 7 gallons of mixed fruit wine in the making now using same recipe other than the juice change and the balloons were already inflated 30 minutes after mixing in the jugs. Thanks Doing It Cheap for an uncomplicated wine recipe.
Going to make your Baileys Irish Cream clone soon!
Your Awesome!

thank you very much !!! I hope you find some videos on my channel you will enjoy !!
Your video was one of the ones I viewed and recommended to another winemaker newbie! That was over a month ago and I've actually made about five bottles since then! Thank you sir!
Cool !! I am having a little grape right now!
You did say that your wine is ready in three weeks and in another video I saw you pour the ready wine into a smaller bottle. So at that time, did you just close the bottle tightly? I assume you don't need to do the quarter turn on the cap to let the air out.
When you saw me "rack" the wine. That means siphon it off into smaller containers. I was transferring the wine to other containers trying to leave the sediment in the original. You DO NOT want to seal the bottle tight if it is a screw on lid. Unless you freeze the wine for a few days to kill the yeast, it is possible for it to continue fermenting and that builds pressure in a sealed container. I just put it in the refrigerator and try to coordinate the timing for a new batch to come off about the time I am done with what is in the refrigerator. Those mason jars were tightened and then the lid backed off about a half turn.
As soon as he mentioned Christmas, I knew immediately he was Santa Claus
You can search my channel for Santa.
I make this for my family for the holidays they all agree it’s amazing. Thank you sir
Most welcome 😊
This channel is underrated and needs more likes and subscription. 🍷❤️☮️
Its nice to see all the love pawpaw gets. I've learned more on This channel then any other channel in just a few weeks.
You are so kind
Hell yeah, Pops! Doing this when I get home!
You had me at cheap, and then again at homemade wine! Just gave you a sub...
Awe Paw Paw just getting started on learning how to make your wine. I'm laughing about the constipation joke now. Now back to watching all your vedios concerning how to make wine today. Thank you for I'm grateful.
You remind me so much of my dad. He and my grand daddy were both boot-leggers back in the day and they made all kinds of hooch. This was basically the same way they made peach and muscadine wine. Loved the video!
