    Really clean design and some clever ideas to think about here. I appreciate you pointing out the things that didn't work out as well also. Thank you!

    Great vid! It's refreshing to see something like this. I feel like overlanding (youtube channels) have become so overmarketed and over focused on gear. Keep it up guys!
    PS: because of your channel I was able to convince the lady and now we are looking for a 100 series, so thanks you haha

    REally slick setup, I'm just now starting to think about a rawer system for my 80s series and this is super helpful especially the cardboard template idea.

    That's a nice design. Most of the time it's only a bit expensive ( but way less expensive that buying) to make your own because you are designing, building, redesigning and rebuilding. More satisfying to build your own. I think it's pretty inexpensive if one were to build something like this with plans in hand already. I designed and built my rear storage solution for my 80 and it took a few times before it was how I wanted. With that said I probably will be modifying it again. I have a sleeping platform, fridge slide and no drawers. Just space for bins to keep weight down and modularity/portability up. Interested to see what your modifications will be.

      Agreed, it is more satisfying building your own. Really looking forward to working on the next version!

    What kind of second row seat covers are those? Really digging the set up!

    Appreciate the insight from your drawer experience. I'm interested to see what changes you make or what you replace it with.
    Question: What tail lights are those? Are you happy with the fit/function? 1999 LC here. Thanks!

      Thanks for watching! I plan to do a video covering the new drawers along with a few other projects I'm working on. The tail lights are from from Spyder (link below), they look cool. However, they merged the backup and turning signals together making it hard for others to know your turning during the day (since the turning signal is white); I'm considering about going back to OEM or going with the ANZO Led Taillights (2nd link) down the road.

    Hi thanks for sharing your build. How did you mount the system to the frame?

      Thanks for watching, I removed the anchor points and used the existing holes with longer bolts

    Thanks for the video. Question - how does the whole set up hold onto the car? Or is the weight just enough.

    • @OverlandTrax
      @OverlandTrax  Před 10 měsíci

      I removed the original anchor points and used longer bolts to keep everything in place; thanks for watching!

    Are they long enough for a few long gun cases?

    • @OverlandTrax
      @OverlandTrax  Před 4 lety +1

      Not in the drawers. They do lay flat in the back but that causes issues if you want to bring a cooler or other storage boxes; it's one on of the design considerations for the next version..
