    Purchased one as a gift for my wife this week, I end up keeping it to myself! It is an outstanding guitar. Of course I’m getting her another one!

    I own this exact guitar but in flame top Red. It is simply the best most beautiful guitar I’ve ever played. The neck fits me like a glove and OMG the pickups are divine. They have this point where they release a certain dirtiness that is so pleasing when you’re playing. I absolutely love this guitar. Fantastic & very thorough review. Personally I just didn’t gel with the Gibson 335. This feels better in my hands and to my ear. That’s not what I was expecting at all.

    Fantastic explanation. I really enjoyed the explanation of Pao Ferro! I had no idea what it really was.

    Great review! I own an Atlantic Deluxe Ltd solid body, seems very similar in quality. That too feels just amazing in your hands. The neck is really well made and has satin finish in the back, your hands just move so effortlessly on it.

    Great review thanks. Particularly like colour co ordination of shirt with black sunburst over flame top!
    Enjoyed the woodyness of the tone coming through

    I'm betting the tone pots ARE linear. humbucker tone pots are typically 500K audio and work pretty nicely. 300K linear can be good for volume, depending on the individual.

    Say….how does it compare to an Epiphone Sheraton, which you really liked in your review?

    • @MooreMusicGuitars
      @MooreMusicGuitars  Před 2 lety +2

      Very different tonally. I'd love to own them both, but the DC had a beautiful 335-ish tone, while the Sheraton had a midrange vocal bite that would be a sweet sound for 50s/60s rock 'n roll or a unique indy-rock tone.

    DAngelicos are very beautiful and decent guitars for a price. But MRI scanning a guitar would definitely be a no-no for any radiology tech, take it from a radiologist :) It's a fairy tale. X ray yes, CT maybe (artefacts from pickup magnets are very strong), but it would definitely destroy MR image in an MRI scanner, or even destruct the magnetic field itself, or an MRI gantry. Cheers :)

      I actually have one in the video room right now. The acoustic properties are slightly diminished, but not by much. It's still a great sounding guitar.
