My 7 × great uncles crossed to Kentucky through the Cumberland Gap with Daniel Boone.
My 5th great, Isaac Thomas helped guide them through the Cumberland Gap following the native trails

The Boone family showed up in my DNA. I had always heard we were related to Daniel Boone but i figured it was more of a family folk lore until the DNA test 😂 I reckon it was true

A good friend of mine is a descendant of Daniel Boone but is not all that proud of it. We drove through Kentucky on a road trip once and passed several signs such as Boonesborough, Boone national park, and Boone Tavern. I asked if he wanted to stop and check one of them out, but he said, "Ah my ancestor was just some jerk who liked to walk into places and name it after himself ". maybe he was right.
