4:50 Don LaFontaine voice was such a huge part of life growing up in the 90s during commercials breaks. Because he really sold you on whatever movie was being advertised. But nowadays you dont hear anything like it. His voice so rich, booming and cinematic. Definitely miss. Made you excited for what was to come
Totally agree. They don't even seem to do voice overs on trailers anymore.
To quote Barney from the Simpsons "Just hook it to my veins!". Nothing like that good nostalgia. Thanks for always supplying us Dave. Especially in these trying times. Hope you're doing better.
Could you possibly use an egg perhaps?
Thanks for including some 2000’s videos in the mix, I’m sure I’m gonna enjoy this one.
This is 2005. It's here to make you feel on your knees.
Oh yeah, another set of great commercials from the man himself. Love it!
Thanks for the Sunday night cap Dave! Hope you’re feeling better! ✌️📼🧈
Nice to see mid 200s commercials as well, plz do 2000 - 2004 🎉
A young Elisabeth Moss in the secret ad.
The year 2005 is one of the most nostalgic years for me as a kid 💯 this is really dope thanks💪🏻👍👍
That is actually surreal that these were on a DVR from that long ago, still holding up to this day!
lol that TiVo sound 😂
Crazy how i was in high school in 2005,me an my high school gf spended alot of time in my room,so i remember a lot of these commercials…Things were great at this point in my life…wish i could really go back too this time an atleast re-live it again…🤝🍻✌️
I absolutely loved that Visa commercial with the Marvel characters on it! I don't remember it being 2005. This was after the first couple of X-Men and Spider-Man films?
X-Men and X-2 came out in 2000, and 2003. Still cool though especially since it uses the comics costumes rather than the black leather. Also got Thor and Cap who had no modern live action movies.
Back in the good old days when superhero movies weren’t a constant flood like they have been for a couple of decades. I burnt out on them long ago but they don’t seem to be going anywhere to this day.
@@tanner6585 MCU started in 2008, ive NEVER liked any of those GARBAGE ass movies. 2008-2019 we didnt need that many.
@@nickm5419 Completely agree
2005 my senior year of high school. Commercials making me nostalgic.
It was my Junior year in high school…Crazy how time flies…
2005 was a good year. I was 20 that year :)
I wuz 12
Man do I feel old lol I graduated high school in 2005 😅 , appreciate the upload Dave. Brings me back to good times.
I graduated high school in 2005. Goddamn, I feel old.
I remember those Land Rover ads, and I always thought they were dumb.
Every school year we'd get that list of school supplies we're totally going to need, then we never use half the damn list.
26:06 - 26:25 Manning Bowls. I miss those.
These ads must be 2006, since the Steelers won the Super Bowl in 2005 season, but one of the commercials for the upcoming season showed footage from that Super Bowl.
Totally forgot Hillary Duff was a thing. Do not miss that at all.
5:16 - A before-they-were-stars appearance by Elisabeth Moss.
I was in high school in 2005 so I remember a ton of these! The Yoplait ad is especially funny because a lot of yogurt cups have as much sugar in them as a donut, so while the study they reference may be well-supported, I doubt eating Yoplait for your dairy serving is gonna help anyone lose weight.
Aww man that Tim Hortons Cinnamon roll commercial tickles me because I can relate to it.
You're the man dave, interesting contrast between late 90s and mid 2000s ads! More please!
I actually remember a lot of these commercials. I was 12! Lol
I was 16..
Woo boy, that Apprentice commercial 👀 times were simpler
I remember 2005. It was the last full year I had regular access to cable TV because I finally moved out of my parents' place in the spring of 2006 and never got it after that. On top of that, this whole Tivo/DVR business is one of the few things where they actually weren't early adopters. It's interesting to see some of what I missed between that and not watching much TV around that time anyway.
2005! My teenage years!
Yeah mine too. Very late teenage years, they were tough.
Watching these make me want to create a 8 hour video with commercials AND tv shows, so it feels like I'm actually watching tv program from another year.
When are they going to introduce Underdog into the MCU dammit?!
Great upload Dave! Thank you for this episode.
Plus ! 19:19 that’s George Clooney for Budweiser😎
Stay retro Dave!
🎥📼👍

"It's more than just a credit card, it's literally magic!"
Keep the videos coming!!! I love em!!!
Thank you for providing more commercial sets from the 2000's, though it kinda feels weird with it being recorded on a DVR instead of the "pureness" of a VCR. Just don't ever include stuff from the 2010's, it's no longer retro if it's after 2010!
Actually, my personal "line in the sand" is around 2008/2009, with Kids WB and Toonami ending in 2008, with Sci-Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica" and "Stargate Atlantis" ending in late 2008/early 2009, and that's when the Recession broke out and the economy collapsed. 2008 also kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which I believe is comparable to "Star Wars" in 1977 (the start of a new era in film making). All that, and people stopped using VCR's!
It seems like those effects were added in for TIVO nostalgia… a recorded file from a TIVO would not show fast forwarding and pausing, unless someone recorded a TIVO DVR playback externally, but why on earth would someone do that?!
I must have a good memory because I remember some of these. Trippy
That guy from the movies Dave always talks about at 4:53 .
Damn, Geico really was ahead of the curb with its style of humor lmao
It's really valuable to watch this content. It's gross to see how disgustingly manipulative commercials are though.
It’s called marketing you communist sympathizer
Duh. Thats what the point of them is lol to get you to consume what theyre selling. Not some secret
Holy shit these take me back I remember most of these
I find it so weird how commercials from the 2000s still have the same format almost 20 years later.
man! back when commercials were SO MUCH BETTER!! Thanks Dave for the memories!!
For a second i thought that was Steve Buscemi in that Mcdonalds chicken sandwich ad 😆
I don't know if someone already said it but the girl in the Secret commercial I. The beginning is the girl that is in The Handmaid's Tale and the new Invisible Man movie. Thanks for posting Dave!!!
Yeah, that’s Elisabeth Moss. I still think of her as Peggy from Mad Men. She was great in Invisible Man too.
Damn I remember alot of these.. I was in 10th-11th grade in 2005
That 5 for 5 arbys deal though.
5:46 Nobody back then knew this guy
Double commenting but I also remember the Eli vs Peyton Sunday night game very well. Giants got screwed on a penalty late in the game of course lol.
At this point I have to double take to tell if an upload like this is from this channel or Jaboody Show's like wait, when did I miss them streaming this?

RETRO COMMERCIALS 490TH VOLUME 10 TO GO FROM MY 500TH VOLUME
Great stuff. Love watching ads from the past. Anyone know Dave's theme song at the very beginning?? Sounds like Lou Gramm of Foreigner.
Ah back when everyone carried flip phones
Why THE FUCK am I sitting here watching commercials
WDIV Detroit! Local 4
1:27 Anyone know who voices Spiderman? Kind of sounds like Ben Diskin
Sounds like David Kaufman
7:51ozzy right
5:57 they're both convicted felons lmao whodathunk
