Never seen copper plating on any Asian classical tiled roofs! Not Japan, China, Thailand -- anywhere in Asia! You Koreans are in the forefront of traditional house design. Amazing!!!

This is fascinating. I really like the wooden structure. My only real critique of it is that there does not seem to be any tiedowns between the roof and the joists. They are really important to prevent the roof from being lifted up by the wind.

In traditional Korean houses, the walls are covered with red clay and the outermost area is covered with lime, which is a natural material that is good for firmly fixing the walls.

It is not black sand, but ash made by burning finely chopped rice husk or wood. The roof can retain moisture because it is exposed to rain and wind, and since it is a house made of heavy wood, it is weak against moisture, so ash is used to remove moisture. This is because adding sand to the roof adds weight, so ash will be the best choice.
