So save your shaming for those anti science scientists who viscerally react when inconvenient evidence against their paradigm surfaces that they have no answer for. You fault creationists for embracing evidence when it supports their view. Yet evolutionists constantly do the same. You live in a fantasy world and you are very selective when choosing to display evidence and sometimes you lie, to make it fit your religious cult. Schweitzer was quite public about how disappointed religious extremists misrepresented her work in science., but somehow you forgot to mention that.
There is no doubt that mistakes are made and in some case frauds, like with the Piltdown Man, but these are exposed. This is not done by religious extremists like you, or creationist money hungry organisations like ICR, Hovind or AiG, but by people like me. As for australopithecus afarensis, we now have +300 fossils and we know that they did not have "ape feet", but I guess that you find it ok to lie to promote your religious extremism.
Reality is that there are hundreds of Christian universities in the US alone, with an estimated 3.5 million students and billions in research funds and not one has managed to refute the scientific theory of evolution. There are dedicated research funds for projects dedicated to challenge the evolutionary theory and still nothing has been presented. In the past 25 years, large creationist organisations have had +100 million US$ at their disposal and employed their own scientists and not one relevant paper has been published, refuting evolution. So in essence, despite billions at their disposal, millions of academics and 50 years of research, nothing of scientific value has been presented. This is the reality that you don't want to see...

@@kenhiett5266 Is that because you believe in the modern mythology that fish evolve into philosophers, that we're all related to bananas, and that meaningless evolved protoplasm somehow evolved to gain meaning and value?
The problem is that you are ignoring the evidence around you. When you see a building, you know there must have been a builder. In the same way, when we look at all of creation, we know there must have been a Creator. Logically, you only have two options:
      1) the laws of nature created themselves, the entire universe created itself in contrast to the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics which contradict each other at the beginning of the universe (which is why you inconsistently believe in supernatural phenomena like infinite alternate universes), the earth created itself randomly meeting 122 precise anthropic constants (1 in 10^138 chance), life randomly created itself in a global frozen dead environment (faint sun paradox) *with no observable evidence* , at some point all the right proteins and all the right cell components formed themselves inside of a cell enclosure, the mass quantities of information in DNA somehow created itself from non-information without an intelligent source (all information in existence has an intelligent source), and that meaningless evolved protoplasm like yourself somehow evolved to have meaning and value including the capacity for symbolic communication, to be able to evaluate things as beautiful, meaningful, or valuable... among many other difficulties. Nature created itself which is logically (Naturally) impossible because it requires Nature to be preexistent. You also believe these things *without observable evidence* in contrast to the laws of nature and in contrast to the scientific method, but then you erroneously call it "science" anyway.
      2) God created the laws of nature (Jeremiah 33:25), God created the universe which is why we see such design and balance throughout (Genesis 1), God created the earth meeting 122 precise anthropic constants which is evidence of deliberate design (Isaiah 45:18), God created life out of non-life including the instructions in your DNA which scientifically/consistently came from an Intelligent Source (Psalm 139:13, Jeremiah 1:5, Genesis 1:27), the reason we have no evidence for an alleged early greenhouse gas atmosphere, life allegedly originating on a geothermal vent, or the early frozen atmosphere which should be there according to the faint sun paradox is because the earth isn't actually billions of years old (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). The reason human beings and life itself are valuable, and the reason we can attribute meaning to anything, the reason we have the unique capacity for symbolic representation, including a felt need to champion an ideology, etc.... is because we are not meaningless evolved protoplasm, but meaningful and valuable human beings who were made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27).
The biblical worldview can make sense out of all those things that just don't make sense in your own internally inconsistent, existentially unviable worldview that keeps rewriting itself as we find more and more problems with it.
You will only be able to "sleep like a baby" until Judgment Day. On that day your fine is due for every single immoral act you've ever committed. Every lie you've told, every time you've stolen, every time you've fornicated, every time you've dishonored your parents, every time you've worshipped yourself instead of God, hated others, been gready/jealous, or used the name of the Holy God who created you as a curse word, you have been building up a fine for yourself. You cannot pay this fine because everything you have has been given to you, including your body, your eyes, your brain, your voice, food, water, shelter, and your very soul. You will get the justice that you deserve. If you sin just 10 times a day, then after 80 years you will have broken God's Ten Commandments over 290,000 times. scientific "evidence" has to be tested to prove true. -- This part is mostly right. Science relies on testable evidence to validate a theory. Even then the scientific community tries to find flaws in the claim, process and results. If they do, the claim is put aside or reconsidered and adjusted. If they can't disprove it then the claim begins to enter the pool of accepted knowledge, tentatively at first but over time, as more validation arrives, it becomes the current theory. Now, compare this to AiG's idea of a science paper, the kind they have in their own archive. To submit a paper the 'scientist' must start from the position of 'Young Earth Creation is correct' and then the paper must support that position. This is the exact opposite of science. The submission criteria are below....
      -----------------------------------------
The following criteria will be used in judging papers:
      1. Is the paper’s topic important to the development of the Creation and Flood model?
      2. Does the paper’s topic provide an original contribution to the Creation and Flood model?
      3. Is this paper formulated within a young-earth, young-universe framework?
      4. If the paper discusses claimed evidence for an old earth and/or universe, does this paper
offer a very constructively positive criticism and provide a possible young-earth, young-universe alternative?
      5. If the paper is polemical in nature, does it deal with a topic rarely discussed within the
      origins debate?
      6. Does this paper provide evidence of faithfulness to the grammatical-historical/normative
interpretation of Scripture? If necessary, refer to the following: R. E. Walsh, 1986. “Biblical
Hermeneutics and Creation.” In Proceedings First International Conference on Creationism,
vol. 1, 121-127. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Creation Science Fellowship.
      Remark:
The editor-in-chief will not be afraid to reject a paper if it does not properly satisfy the above
criteria or if it conflicts with the best interests of AiG as judged by its biblical stand and goals
outlined in its statement of faith.
      -----------------------------------------
Does that look at all like honest scientific pursuit?
Evolution is untestable. -- Not true. We watch evolution in progress all the time, it's a bit slow, but it's observed in nature and in the lab. The long term stuff we can demonstrate through DNA and fossils found for many animals including humans. Shorter lived things can be observed over the course of a few years to change if their conditions change enough. So while it's not easily testable on demand we can certainly test the theory and say 'if man came from apes I should be able to find examples in the fossil record of the stages of development'... and we have. And this same idea should apply to other creatures, such as dinosaurs and chickens. And it does. We might not know what a creature turned into initially, but we can either start with the current version, or any of the past versions, and work our way up and down the development line. This is all thoroughly studied and reliable.
We all use science. -- This is true. Either we use the products science made for us or we use science in our daily lives, like cooking.
There are many sciences, -- There is one scientific process, but many scientific disciplines, like physics, chemistry, biology, etc.
but wisdom comes from God. -- prove it. Step 1, prove gods exist. Step 2, prove the one you refer to as "God" actually exists. That's what all this comes down to, that demand for evidence before believing a claim. It's only right for us to want evidence for a life altering claim like that. But, no one ever provides evidence. And no, the bible is not evidence of this. The bible is a collection of writings, some of which are just reboots of even older stories, cobbled together to give religious leaders something to validate their authority against. That's all it is. And it was done so poorly it makes no sense. On the one hand, god is a jealous god. On the other hand jealousy is a sin. So... god... is a sinner. Pretty sure that wasn't thought through very well.
Point is, if you want untestable, god is an example of untestable. It's even written into the rules that we aren't allowed to test him. When you are starting a cult it's good to establish rules like this. From page 1 that book is utter nonsense. I have read it. I was raised with it. I went to the schools, I did the sunday school thing. I went to church. It never made sense. Apologists exist to find ways to forcibly reword reality to kinda fit scripture. That is their core competency. I am pretty sure 'gods word' would not need interpreters to be understood, if such a being existed and wanted us to know about him.
      Peace.

They soft microscopic tissue was preserved in a process were after the animal died hemoglobin in the body released iron Krystal’s which crosslinked with the proteins in the femur, and thus preserved the tissue through fossilization. Hypothetically if you take a piece of wood and somehow replace certain parts of the organic molecules of the cellulose with something other than hard silica that can preserve you will have fossil wood that retains it's woodiness but is still fossilized. What all this informs us is that collagen has a unique ability to have some elements of it's molecular structure swapped out in a way (maybe iron or some yet unknown process) that fixes it as is and arrests further degradation. That's the key here. People will argue definitions of "fossilized" all day and Creationists will claim it's proof the Earth is young because fresh collagen is known to have a short life EXCEPT this is altered collagen. Apples and oranges if it's about molecular interactions. Maybe we will have to change definitions. Certainly previous assumptions has been turned over. I would assume these are from bones deposited quickly in mud or some other specific mode if not quick burial. The chemists will eventually figure this one out because everything comes down to basic chemistry even biology.

This is an interesting take that needs consideration. The Triceratops is represented as having lived about 65 million years ago. Allow that to sink in...65 MILLION. That's where we have to start the analysis. What the scientist in this video shows is that there is elastic tissue on the surface of the bone; tissue that is being manipulated to "stretch" and which returns back to its form when released (or thereabouts.) Now, collagen (a most abundant protein) degrades rather quickly. We see its degradation in living organisms (humans) over several decades. Disease, lack of nutrition, trauma, aging can all cause degradation in the living organism. With this bone, or horn, we see tissue on its un-living surface. This horn, I think we can safely assume, was immediately exposed to things that we know degenerates will tissue very quickly, such as lack of oxygen, sunlight, air, dirt, bacteria, critters of all sorts. Unless the horn was buried very quickly (a rapid flood?), it would be a very real stretch to conclude that the portions of the external tissue were replaced, by, or protected by, iron or traces of zinc or some other metal, thereby allowing it to maintain its basic composition over 65 million years. Again MILLION has to be emphasized here. Even if rapidly buried, I'd have to see the research about what happens to collagen over time when encased in a hard substance, such as rock.

"Soft tissue" is a very misleading term in this context, which can lead to misunderstandings among laypeople.
The "tissue" found by Mary Schweitzer was fossilized, enclosed in a large undamaged bone that was also fossilized and which was itself baked into stone. It is hard to imagine a better long-term preservation. In addition, in the early phase after death, the iron from the decayed haemoglobin protected for decomposition.
The material was freed from the mineral by a complex chemical treatment and was then reminiscent of soft tissue, as should also be found at this location. Of course, it is not functional, it is dead.

The trouble with biblical literalists (ironically both atheists and fundamentalists) is that they are blinded with their own arrogant certainty and miss an entire universe of possibilities that are far more likely than space aliens. True scientists have more humility and thus can *_discover_* answers, whether they are studying fossils or miracles. @Common Sense Realist Ad populum arguments are fallacious. Just because everyone else is doing it doesn't make it right or true my friend. *Did you know that the Theory of Evolution shares characteristics of a religion?*
In 1981-82 in a federal court in Arkansas it was ruled that Creationism can't be taught in schools because "it is not falsifiable." With its history of rewriting itself every time we discover a new problem with it, what would it take to "falsify" evolution today? Hundreds of Living fossils? Allegedly millions of year extinct creatures still alive today? Discovering that numerous allegedly "vestigial" organs actually have a purpose? Finding fully developed vertebrates in the Cambrian explosion? Finding an alleged 70 million year old evolutionary predecessor to land-dwelling mammals still alive today with no signs of evolution? Young soft tissues in a growing number of dinosaur fossils that appear similar to 4000 year old mummies and the Tyrolean ice man? *Did you know that secular scientists recently debunked evolutionist claims of "junk DNA"?*
....or do we just reinterpret all of this evidence against evolution to sustain the evolutionary belief system? Should we hold evolution to the same *religious* standard?
Charles Darwin said "if an *organ* were discovered which could not possibly be explained by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down... but I know not one." Darwin didn't have access to the fields of genetics and embryology when he made up his theory of naturalistic evolution. *How did male and female evolve?* Specifically, how did the two separate, yet interdependent sets of male-female reproductive *organs* with numerous precision-tuned single points of failure, evolve by "numerous, successive, slight modifications" and still enable functional reproduction? Which gender evolved first, and how did it reproduce while the other one was still evolving? Going backwards in the evolutionary story, which of these critical organs do you reduce first "by numerous, successive, slight modifications"?

He was doing good until he claimed extraordinary preservation therefore 100% excludes great antiquity because reasons (bias). The proteins are altered/replaced at an atomic level at just enough a level that they are preserved just like how salt preserves meat and how formaldehyde, mercury and oils/resins preserves soft tissues. We now know soft tissue can in fact be preserved essentially forever under ideal conditions. Let's apply logic here... If the samples were only 4000 years old you would see not one but hundreds of associated biological molecules also preserved just as well and you don't. They would run hand in hand. Collagen is a special case it appears. When we get to the level we can identify the remnants of DNA base pairs and therefore get the letters we will be able to essentially run AncestryDNA type comparisons between extant and extinct organisms. We already know from Phylogeny and some old DNA how much is inherited from past forms and it's a lot (actually almost all of it). The relevance of preserved collagen to Young Earth Creationism is approximately zero.
