      Captain Brandon Horror Lover and it's funny too because shape of water is his most adult film but it still has that mind of a kid feel that's in something like hellboy or pans labyrinth or pacific rim

    • @rokaanalzeer
      @rokaanalzeer Před 6 lety

      Captain Brandon Horror Lover yeah! I think the only film I've seen from him that doesn't have that feel was blade 2. And that's understandable. He was making something that could fit with what was established in the first one so maybe his innocence Wonder feel wouldn't have worked in blade 2.

    • @RobVespa
      @RobVespa Před 6 lety +1

      Agreed, outside of "most adult" - Unless you mean because of the nudity, which would be a distinctly American perspective... see Pan's Labyrinth and The Devil's Backbone, among others. That typed, I'm not saying you're wrong - Only that I disagree.

    • @RobVespa
      @RobVespa Před 6 lety

      Blade 2 has a completely different aesthetic and feel than the first. I wouldn't be surprised is del Toro also changed the script (although I don't know that and there are scenes I don't think del Toro would've ever filmed if he had total control, but I don't know - Just a hunch).

      SPOILER WARNING! I found it to be too short. It was almost like woman meets monster and want to have his fish schnabel inside her asap. Very very creepy. If only the movie could explain the reasoning behind this a little better. Got to remember that the monster was in chains, the monster would likely do anything to be set free, and it can also be suffering from "Stockholm syndrome" or something similar. Being captive, and then the woman free him and have sex with him... creeeeeepy!

Awards to some are meaningless but there are few who work hard and struggle to belive in themselves and an award, ceremony and an extra minute of speech(to praise others involved) helps them understand that It happend. Not every winner has winners mentality i guess.

    I've been a film graduate, directing and acting in a few shorts through and after college, in the past 12-18 months a flame went out on my love for cinema and I've been working a mundane job to get by, after watching the Shape of Water that flame has been well & truly lit again & I feel like the spark and love I have for cinema has returned. Funnily enough Pans Labyrinth was the film that lit the original flame so I find it fitting that a Del Toro film has reeled me back to what I love. Thank you Guillermo Del Toro you amazing genius, you deserve every award under the Sun.

      2.- Si forma parte de una élite es porque probablemente como él mismo lo dijo le tomó 35 años estar donde está.
      3.- Si "prefirío" desarrollar su carrera en EEUU es porque si se quedaba en México jamás iba a poder tener el estatus que tiene a nivel internacional ya que nuestro gobierno no apoya por lo general al arte y al cine menos por lo tanto, como muchos otros actores y directores decidió hacer una carrera en Hollywood, ya que en mi opinión nadie quisiera ser un director de cine sin trabajo.
      4.- Déjate de mamadas y deja de chingar pinche chairo.

    • @88franko
      @88franko Před 6 lety

      No digas pinches mamadas. Tu siendo "peruano" tienes una idea muy ignorante a lo que es ser Mexicano si piensas que solo es "poblacion marginada." Guillermo del Toro representa un patrimonio cultural muy Mexicano que es el cine y las artes. Y no te identificas con el porque el es chingon y el quien es chingon lo es donde sea asta en Hollywood.
