As a Kenyan, I stand with Tanzania on this issue. Malawi needs to learn the importance of sharing the lake with its neighbors. It's very strange that Malawi wants to propose boundary claims on shores within Tanzania's sovereignty. This is unacceptable because they renamed Lake Nyasa to Lake Malawi, as if they're claiming that the entire lake belongs to Malawians. In reality, the lake serves Tanzania and Mozambique as well. Lake Tanganyika for instance, is shared between DR Congo, Burundi, Zambia, and Tanzania. The treaty that divided the boarder between Malawi and Tanzania clearly states that no part of the Lake belongs to Tanzania, and Mbeya was given to Tanzania even though that region belonged to Malawi. It's called 'the 1890 Heligoland'. The first president on Tanzania Julius Nyerere, also replicated the same in his speech on the matter.
