In Kamuzu's chichewa speeches his dialect was typical kasungu tounque and that one can't easily copy paste every time at his age. That's first sign that he was purely Malawian
Kamuzu was Malawian, but he didn't want to speak his home language as most African nowadays they teach their children foreign languages only more than they language.
He spoke nice Chewa ,the accent says it all it was just his persona. He was a chewa he spoke typical chewa .The words he used to correct the interpreter were typical words which are rarely used in recent times. An impostor cannot use such deep terminologies. He ready the bible correctly except that he rarely ready the chewa bible.I some time do no read the way iam supposed to read it,if idont read the chewa bible accurately it does not mean am not a chewa,no. The accent and the words he used tells it all!that to me is more than perfect . The man was so enlightened that he spent more than 40 yrs abroad ,he knew the language but he rarely spoke it.
Yes, back then people would completely forget their language out of inferiority complex. We used to know people in 80s and 90s who upon getting to the UK, just for a week upon return, had changed accents and forgotten native language. Shame!
It can happen he is by nationarity born and growingup other countries like my kids are growing here in southafrica so far my kids can't speak chichewa when they go back people will say they are not malawians no l'm there father nothing will change
Yes as they are little and born there … but they can be bilingual if Chichewa is spoken in the home … a lot of Asians who live on other continents such as USA, Australia, UK their children are bilingual… however forgetting your language as an adult is a bit of a stretch
But is it difficult to have your kids learn your language when you are at home, they will only be malawians in name. Letting your kids their identity is not a good thing, play your part in teaching them the language of their roots
Remember kasungu by then was part of northern region where people speak tumbuka when kamuzu came kasungu was removed from the North and be part of central region on political grounds looking on the background you will see that. Kamuzu was not a chews but rather a ngoni from mzimba since in chews tribe you will never find a name Banda or chendawaka Banda names are found in mzimba and nkhaftabay his sister never spoke chewa but tumbuka Kamuzu spoke very good tumbuka than chewa
This guy was true malawian from kasungu the accent it's pure chichewa particularly kasungu not as we use as curriculum at school

Simple. Hw was a TUMBUKA SPEAKER.
He grew up in a typical rural Kasungu among the Chewa. His father was a Tonga. Where is the Tumbuka coming from?
Kamuzu band was a malawian, what are you talking about?
Impostor he was
He wasn’t a Malawian and this is why he killed lots of people who opposed him
If you over 12 years. I do not think you can loose and forget your language. Even if you born in a different country
