Botswana wasn't complaining when the company does the work. They should mine their own diamonds.

    *context
    Its election campaign time!!!
So the Debswana deal, The 2011 agreement, De Beers sold 90% of diamonds, while Botswana auctioned 10% through its Okavango Diamond Company. In 2020, Botswana’s share was raised to 25%. After 2 years of negotiations.
The deal, due to run out was extended due to that thing…that shut the world down.
Now they continue to renegotiate through to June 2023.
I doubt both parties want to part ways.
    Only a few months ago,
“We are just fine tuning, but we will strike a deal,” Masisi said in an interview in Marrakech, Morocco.
