Then why watch the video??

The first place shown is Craco, Italy but what they don't tell you here is that the main reason it was empty was the fault of the local authorities. A few years before everyone was forced to leave the town had new sewers installed and this upheaval of the ground is what caused the landslides, coupled with the fact that many newer building were not built into the rock and didn't have good foundations.
So you’re saying it was a “total sht show?” 🤣
This was a very well produced vid. I really appreciated that it didn't have the blaring background music and computer generated narration.

I've been to Oradour. One of the most poingant things I've ever seen in my life. There is a memorial in the church, to the soldiers of the WW1, it is riddled with bullet holes and damage from WW2. That place has really stuck with me
Can confirm, Bodie California (#2) was honestly really cool. It was so surreal seeing everything untouched in person.
Another city is next to Tzarevo, Bulgaria. It’s not finished but the build was stopped since the person who wanted to create this city arrested. And now we call it the dead city
Pripyat, Ukraine is probably the most interesting place to go visit. Despite the tragedy that happened at Chernobyl and all the lost lives. May they rest in peace

Hahaha!
Lmao ordos is not a small town
Excellent video! I thought I knew about most of the major abandoned cities in the world but about half of these I never heard of. I'm only disappointed that Centralia, PA wasn't on the list, home of an underground mine fire that began in 1962. The town (population 1000 in 1980, so I guess it wasn't large enough to be included in the video) was eventually bought out by the government in 1992. Not everyone wanted to leave, though, and in 2013 the government reached an agreement allowing the remaining residents to stay. Only about 5 residents remain - and the fire is still burning, 58 years later. The smoke comes out of vents in the ground. The remains of the city can easily be seen from Google Earth.
Goid call
✔️So true, I wondered this, also.
For those interested, here is a video about it:

It's from a channel I like, Fascinating horrors.
Can’t be due to size, since they included that island that was just a hospital
I know about the city. Not enough people know about it. And I think it’s less than that now. I’m pretty sure 2 have passed away since then.
Didn't even mention Burj Al Babas, the Turkish ghost town known as the 'Disney Village'? That place is crazy. It contains thousands of identical abandoned houses that all look like the Disney castle! It's surreal.
I think you mixed two different Montserrat places, there’s a lot of the footage of up the hill Montserrat that is placed an hour train trip outside Barcelona
seems that some ppl still cannot google 😜 But in the first moment I was wondering where they hid the volcano when I was visiting Black Madonna.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I visited Pripyat only.
In the cities included here I'd like to visit Craco, Bodie, Hashima, Kolmanskop and Plymouth.
And abandoned cities not included in this list I'd to visit there are Pyramiden, a former soviet mining town in Norwegian island of Svalbard, Epecuen in Argentina, the Fukushima exclusion area, and Centralia, PA, which inspired the city in Silent Hill.
There is an error when you talk about Montserrat. You have posted images of the mountain of Montserrat in Catalonia. :)
I was looking for this comment
Yep at 11:32 and 11:53 🤦🏻♀️
11:32 that is not the British Montserrat. That is footage of the mountain of Montserrat in Catalonia, Spain. Both places have the same name.
Yeah, so extrange to see our homeland in the footage
I too noticed that. They mixed it in as if no one would notice lol
I knew it! Thank you for confirming because I saw that and was like... wait... this seems familiar 😂
Thanks for the trip into history!!
When talking about Island of Montserrat, you have pictures of the Monastery in Montserrat, near Barcelona, Catalonia.
I noticed too. So many people confuse the both of them...
Ooooo I want to visit some of these places, especially Pripyat!
When they talk about Montserrat, a few images from a monestry and a little church appear. Those locations are in Catalonia, not in that island. Probably the confusion cames because the mountain is also called Montserrat.
The former capital of Montserrat was plymouth to my knowledge, and the whole capital was wiped out during the eruption.
Well done. Fascinating stories. I would visit some of these places given the chance.
This channel give me lots of knowledge
I’d like to visit the American abandoned city and the British one Monserat
Have you ever visited there?
Tsetsi.....id like to visit your big sphincter.
Its not apart of England and that volcano is still active. I'd avoid it at all costs. Your life is more important to risk it.
Here in America we have an abandoned state and it's called California.
They've recently refurbished the mine in Kennecott. It's not a town it's a mine. The world's largest copper mine. You can come out miles down the mountain range it's so huge
My sister recently visited Colombia's most infamous ghost town, Armero. Once a prosperous rural town at the foot of Nevado del Ruiz, one of Colombia's tallest volcanoes, housing around 30000 people, it was destroyed in 1985, after the volcano erupted, melting down the glaciers at the top of the mountain, and causing massive landslides and lahars, which buried the entire city in mud and ash. 23000 people were killed by the disaster (a large part of the death toll being blamed on poor management of early alerts) and the town was completely abandoned and moved several kilometers away, under the name of Guayabal.
There are actually a few locals who have drifted back quietly, and given the scale of the disaster there were surprisingly few health issues

I have to be honest, the mispronunciation of 'Thames' is crazy.
I always thought the Thames was almost synonymous with London. I mean all the famous bridges, the Tower of London, Big Ben, Westminster Palace, the London Eye, the MI5 building, the boat race, etc, etc.

This is a place with a sad history of Korea. This is because Koreans who were brought to Japan for forced labor were forced to work. They worked hard with no guarantees of wages or rest. Shanghai used to be British, like Hong Kong, and was more powerful than Hong Kong but after the war it was ceeded to China.
Interesting, as far as it goes, but I would say that Mystras, near Sparta, in southern Greece is larger than a lot of these. Once one of the most important cities in Medieval and early modern Greece, it began to be abandoned after Greek independence from Ottoman Turkey when the nearby modern city of Sparta started to be built. The city had no modern amenities and water had to be carried up steep streets. Nevertheless the last inhabitant only left in the 1950s. An Orthodox Greek convent has re-opened and the old palace restored but apart from that the city is in ruins.

Whatever science creates, the governments would want to put it in miliatary so said country will be more powerful than the others!
Bodie, CA is one of my favorite places in the world. If you get a chance to go there, you won't be disappointed.
Why so ?
Montserrat is notable for its natives being roughly of half Irish and half African descent. Both groups were sent there as slaves by the English. Many speak English with a strong Irish accent and have traditional Irish clan names. There is also an Irish musical tradition. The food is almost entirely African in origin and the native inhabitants are usually considered black. The relationship between Montserrat and Ireland has long been recognized. There ised to be, and I hope still are, annual exchanges of cultural groups between the two islands, often students. Montserrat natives are recognized by Ireland as members of the Irish diaspora.
The Irish were mostly indentured servants, some were merchants. The Irish merchants also imported slaves. Slavery was a regular institution across the world and perfectly legal at that time. The Africans had been enslaving each other and selling the excess to Arabs for thousands of years. They struck lucky when Europeans turned and said they would like to buy some too.
Don't sugarcoat it. Irish women were brought to be "crossbred" with African slaves, the breeders believing that the resulting offspring would be strong and resilient from the African blood, but more intelligent because of the Irish blood.
Very cool! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Loving this one thanks for sharing very information blessed love to all knowledge is power hopefully everyone pays attention keep up the good work 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲

Surely some of those abandoned towns and cities can be restored back to some form of functionality, and overcrowding in some adjoining areas if any, can be reduced and excess populations moved there and even refugees perhaps, even as holiday areas for tourists and theme parks. Even abandoned medical facilities could be used for themed and period medical tourism, even normal medical tourism. City planners and authorities need to think out of the box on this one. Global and national and local housing shortages, can somewhat be sorted out also.
