Not the making of an anime but the making of an masterpiece
Can I double heart this comment??
@@CrunchyrollInsideAnime awww thanks
Dr stone is not a masterpiece at all. The animation is not good, the fights kind of lame and the singing bits just cringe. The concept is cool, but not masterpiece worthy.
Anime is an ART.
@@pelpo1238 be gon
That glass scene was epic. So the failed glass containers in anime were really the failed glass containers in their studio xD .How many shows they test things irl before putting it in ? Not that many folks.
yeah that realy cool, thats why i realy feel like the scene in anime look so realistic event the fail glass look so real XD
It's pretty standard to do those things. And animators act things out for reference. Of cause they don't need to act out a standard walk cycle.
Please Crunchyroll if you can we'd love more of this behind the scenes content it's amazing
I second that! I love seeing how animation is done especially with Anime. It's really amazing!
Behind the scene of kimetsu no yaiba!
@@jiankllen9044 what?
yes crunchyroll we'd also love if you stopped underpaying your animators
@@pinkish4959 Crunchyroll doesn't make the anime
I respect these animators!
This is a good comment
@@CrunchyrollInsideAnime same to you
This was 10 billion% worth the watch. Kudos to the entire team

This was fantastic. I'd love to see one that focuses more on the voice acting side, and one that focuses on the music/ sound design side of anime if you ever make another one of these in the future.
There's a few videos for Carole & Tuesday. Shows the staff, and seiyuus, along with the English singers for some of the characters.
If they do one on sound design and music, they should go to David Pro.

10:53 I am glad he explained his thought process for this scene, because in my eyes, this was one of the most beautiful and impactful scenes of the whole anime, showing how much even basic science improves the lifes of millions, making life 10000% better for many individuals.
10,000,000% you mean?
more like ten billion percent ^^
I love that scene

I was really enjoying this entire "Behind the Scenes" but I couldn't help but be so happy at the fact they actually, really, truly went out of their way to try some of the things in the series just to improve their work.
They have done really well for a bunch of “noobs”.
Passion can bring a person far
I agree, ten billion percent!
They have done really outstanding work
Agreed
They consider the Boruto, Arifureta anime "pro"
Well pro would be like kimetsu no yaiba
Last clip really shows how the staff is handling this anime, with trial and errors and experiments.... finally a good cruncyroll video
Great video. I don't think people realize how much work goes into anime. Don't pirate!
You should watch shirobako
ur right let tme make a crunchyroll account
cuando me compre la uala, me hago la cuenta de crunchyroll qliao
@monika is best girl just get a guestpass please
Sory but I'm broke.. No can do
This here netflix is how you do an documentary on anime it shows passion and love to the medium and dr stone as a whole.
Watch Episode 11 to avoid some spoilers shown in this video. Anyways the amount of effort put into making this series is real quality, thanks Crunchyroll for this!
I saw some spoilers even from ep 12 ;D

@@makimasupremacy9945 around that time there are some manga pages and it's not spoiler for anime only with too little clues. Only manga readers seeing this knows whats coming but it's not type of spoiler like oh I regret I saw that xD
Man. This requires so much effort and talented hands. I hope the animators know that we love their work.
*What they do becomes a happy part of lives from people all over the world*
As an animation student myself anime is the main reason that inspired me!!!!! I really love anime and Dr.Stone is the best anime so far with education and well characters development. I understand creating an animation is hard and takes a lots of works, energy and time. I really respect and salute for you guys! You guys did great!! Sugoii!! Thankyouu for these awesome documentary and anime. And you guys really generous in sharing knowledge. I truly respect you all. Arigato Gazaimasu for everything.💞 Even the op and ed itself is so gooooddd!!!! 💞💞💞😍 Lots of love from me, friends and family from Malaysia.
Can u pls tell what software were they using for animation

Assistant director for Made in Abyss? He did one hell of a job on that show. It was fantastic.
Emotional 😍😭
WOW CRUNCHYROLL... YA DID IT. YA DONE DID IT AGAIN.
The japanese are so talented, the level of detail in every shot also how seemless the animation is incredible
2019's best anime so far! Congratulations to the Dr. Stone team and for the studio which recorded this awesome material. And for Crunchyroll to bring all of this incredible creation to us of course! :D
DS was the best anime in 2019
After watching this documentary, felt hyped up and I think I can actually pursue my dream being an animator. Wish me luck😤
good luck
Good luck ✨
hope you’re doing well!
Wow That was an amazing video. It was very satisfying to see how these people work so hard to make a great adaptation. Please, could you make more of this kind of content? I love it!
By the way, Does anyone know what program is used in 16:05? It was nice to recognize all the software and hardware used in the video: Photoshop, Clip Studio, a tablet from wacom or common things like Windows 10 and VLC (not like older videos about this topic, where we can see people using prehistoric stuff xD ). Thanks!
Thanks so much! We're glad you enjoyed it as much as we did making it!
I just checked through some of our b-roll and I believe the program is called "RETAS STUDIO" hope that helps!
@@CrunchyrollInsideAnime Thank you again^^ And congratulations for the result of the video too. Happy weekend and enjoy the anime! :)
Also FYI Celsys, the same company that makes RETAS also makes Clip Studio. And RETAS is used by virtually all anime studios. It's the Japanese equivalant of ToonBoom in the West
@@pequalsnp thank you for the info :) In the video, I could recognise some icons of the program, so now I think it is because Celsys is using the same assets is both programs^^
Seeing how much work they put in makes me really appreciate the Anime more, this whole behind the scenes actually brought me to tears.
They are overworked and underpaid that they can't even take care of themselves!
While they made the glass in the episode, I kept thinking "I want to try this." & turns out the anime creators got a chance to. That's literally so cool.
I only have the deepest respect for all the work that goes into making even a single episode of an anime, and I’m actually surprised they even go outta their way to try these sciency things out for themselves as reference. Great work on this doc to Crunchyroll and great work so far on the anime to TMS. 10 billion points to both of you!!!
and now Dr. Stone is my fav Show!! i love senku so muchhh..
For me, this is basically a recall from what my Sensei taught me.. We'll be animating our own short story starting next week, I'm really excited on how we will do this!!
I have so much respect for Shinya-kun's job. Like, you have the manga pannels as reference, and it's your job to decide how the camera moves, and how much time to spend on which shots to deliver the scene in the best way possible, and how the music should be and stuff like that. It's an incredibly important task, and he did such a great job l at it.
Of course I also have much respect for the rest of the team.
Imagine how animators feel when their work is not appreciated....or disrespected.
Exactly 💔 they work so hard and don't even get paid much 😢 I feel so bad for studio Mappa for the bullying and harassment they went through last year , ungrateful mfs don't know how hard it is to make an anime
Even their payments are way too low!! They can't even earn their own expenses and forget about having a family of three. They are overworked and underpaid!!
The content on Crunchy's youtube channel has been 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! We try our best :)
あー、やっぱり、ガラス工房行ったんだ。良い仕事してるなあ。アニメを通じてそれを感じることができましたよ。
Best anime of 2019
I always wanted to see an anime behind the scenes documentary, so I'm really grateful for this. Dr Stone is great!!
I think animators feel even better when they animate characters which really can boost their motivation :D Senku is talking about slow and steady effort and going step by step until we succeed :D Animators going frame by frame feel similar and it's rewarding animating such relatable series for them :D
I love that they are trying to make it as close as the manga, it became more epic!
Thank you crunchy roll, you are the only people to reveal your complete process fir adapting an anime behind the scenes. This video is going in my favorites cause I’ll need to regard it in the future as an animator
Estos documentales son los que le dan la vida a mi canal. Thanks for making it Crunchyroll!
Acabo de entrar a tu canal y tienes varios videos interesantes, los veré después
No robes
I love watching behind-the-scenes videos that deal with the process of producing an anime, and having the insight of those involved in a project is surely a plus. For this one in particular, we can see how they colorize images from the manga in order to distinguish characters, and how they even have real world references to use later for the animation. Keep the good work!
If you haven't, you should watch Shirobako which delves you right into the world of anime industries and how a studio produces an anime
if only seven deadly sins showed us their animating process.
that would be catastrophic
I always appreciate animators for what they do, but actually seeing the BTS of their work adds so much more. I would love to see Crunchyroll make more videos like this again for other Animes in the future.
Check out the one we recently did on Food Wars!
I need more videos like these for anime
This is one of the best things i've ever watched!! i often thought about the whole process but never knew the details, those people really work hard! i respect them so much and i'm thankful they work so hard while i just sit on my chair and binge watch anime.
It's amazing how even as the tools have evolved to simplify or expedite certain elements of the process.........it's STILL just drawing cels and layering them. Incredible.
Thanks a lot for the documentary! I expect to see it more often.
24:45 they more then succeeded. They knock it out of the park. Absolutely 10,000,000,000% stellar job lads.
DANG I LOVE IT. Great job y'all.
That scene when suika puts on her glasses was powerful thank you so much for that and your hard work 🙏🏼
this is absolutely fantastic ! this was such an interesting behind the scenes to watch! i loved Dr stone from the first episode already, but seeing this amazing behind the scenes and all the hard work and crazy amount of effort put into each scene makes the anime even better. this is beautiful ! they're so talented, and such passionate people as well. thank you for this behind the scenes ! i thoroughly enjoyed it.
this is such a good documentary!! very insightful
I love seeing this. Well thought out and well chosen series to film this on. Really hope you guys are able to make more of these for future series.
Totally love how you guys portray Senku's failures with his experiments. Showing that he is not proficient in every thing and how much he does need the other characters' unique skills to help him achieve his goals. Especially, the satisfaction shown from everyone involved. Looking forward to the next season.
please keep making intriguing behind the scenes mini docs!!
dr stone is my second favorite anime of this year, demon slayer is first
The making process of anime is always an spectacle to watch as much as the finished product
Their dedication and attention to detail is crazy commendable!
The part where they go out their way just to see how things are done for reference is adorable. I love the dedication
When I was younger, I made an OC with hair that looks like Senku. Just that the tips weren’t green but were red.
I also visualise his hair as red and imagine my surprise when its actually green
i really love it , it so educational and joyfull to watch , please if u have a time make other documentary like this i will support it !!!
The animators and all the staff did a truly amazing job. Thanks for highlighting the heroes and heroines of anime!
Good job this “behind the scenes” is more better than any cause it show like how they worked hard to make the anime
Salute to your research on each production. As the anime is based with scientific process, you truly digged on reality.
Having watched the latest episode I now understand why they were looking at spaceships
Dr.stone is one of my favourite anime .Thanks for making it.
I Love the directors take on this video, you can feel their genuine compassion on their work.
This is a great behind the scenes look.
these guys are good at making the anime.
keep up the good work!
ten billion percent thanks for the hardwork
Huge respect to their hardwork, the pressure for this job is insane
Must say, I'm surprised at the genuine level of quality in this documentary. Definitely do more like this, your company needs this.
Love from india a masterpiece of 2019 . God help u guys in gaining popularity
I love how they work with happy face!
It's so heart warming..
I hope, I can do the same at my work place too
the tranquility with these guys talk and explains everything it's just amazing
Ótimo trabalho, parabéns com Dr.Stone. O anime está incrível e honra toda essência do mangá.
Obrigado TMS ♥
This is my favorite anime in 2019 because this is anime is educational❤
It's insane how much effort goes into just having Senku brush his hair and look at the camera. This really did a good job breaking everything down, gives me a new appreciation for the team behind this.
I literally cannot wait for the next seasons of Dr. Stone!! I'm updated in the manga and wooaahhhh haha, it was amazing. Hopefully it gets animated soon 🙏🙏🙏
7:05 ayyyy shoutout to his MCU calendar
I wish i could be one of them
Someday when im older
I swear it feels like this video was uploaded a couple of months ago when I said: 'I'll watch it tomorrow". It's 2021 already and 'tomorrow' arrived 3700 years later.
This is so amazing I can't even describe it in words. It all just makes me appreciate Dr. Stone and all my favorite animes even more. Here's to season 2 🔥
even finding out how hard being animator is
it is still my dream to make animations and have fun
not because im a weeb.
it's just wonderful.
i want to feel that wonderful feeling everyday.
Such an excellent documentary, great work Crunchyroll!! 😄
thanks :3
I came to this video because of Dr. Stone, stayed for the animators amazing explanations and funny experiments. They also seem like very nice people.
You did a fine job on making these. Exhilarating!
The staff is so creative just like the anime itself
And I love the real life scene
When they show the title of next episode
"I wanted to try and work wtih younger talents who didn't have as many titles to their name"
> *IT'S ONE OF THE BEST SERIE WE HAD THIS YEAR*
Also.. WOW they really tried all those things ahaha like "oh so this actually works huh?! :O "
This made me GET EXCITED!! Props to the makers
This is so much interesting, thanks you alot for this documentary !
Never seen this before but I’m interested
Ten billion percent better than netflix. You have my respect Crunchyroll!
tbh, i think that these kind of anime's should be broadcasted on tv. it's a great source of education. if kids in other countries watch these kind of cartoon ( anime is one kind of cartoon in japan ) they'll learn many things. just imagine a kid watching Dr.stone on tv. i'm pretty sure it'll make him like science. it'll be a part of their education.
Imagine all those crazy storyboard equals to a Wonderful art and animation
Now I need them to show me how they did the tanjiro vs rui fight from demon slayer
Crunchyroll may I know why Dr.stone anime was still not available in malaysia?
So happy to see these behind the scenes videos and a glimpse into the awesome people that make these series happen. Fascinating manga, fascinating anime. Well done everyone involved. Keep going!
Dr.Stone, Is one of my fav animes, never came to know that this required a lot of hardwork. A great job these animators do TO
