Somercotes,Derbyshire. 22/03/24

Despite years of public protests the building developments in the fields surrounding Somercotes have gone ahead. This short video shows the devastation to the local area as the fields we played in as kids are buried under concrete and bricks.Also a massive loss the the wildlife in our area,it's an absolute disgrace to let these building sites go ahead. This area is also possibly contaminated by toxins leaking from a quarry that was filled in after illegal dumping there in the 60/70's,and it was said that the ground should not be disturbed.I wonder if the people buying these house will be made aware of it's toxic past ?
