Perpetuum Jazzile. Vocal ecstasy. - Hudba
I first watched this video when I was 12 im 22 now and it still doesn't disappoint.
Time is at the same time funny and scary. It's too fast.
Me too! Watched when I was 20, now im 33 and still love it
omg i'm about to be 24 it still hits
Chokes me up every time.
Is it wrong of me to think it’s new?
Damn. It's 2023 and listening to this still brings chills
I have seen them in Slovenia. That was one of the best concerts I have ever seen in my whole life. The audience stood up singing with them. All of the singers are pro, one by one, the choir leader is genius, they are pure music, the top of the music I guess. I know a lot of songs the way they sing, except from beat boxing of course. My dream as a singer is to be able to sing once with them on the stage in the last row, having the smallest part.
I have forgotten this amazing rendition, re-discovered it again today. Fell in love with it again.
I NEVER get tired of this version - brings me to tears every single time! Brilliant!!
Who is still watching this in 2015 and still so blown away at how awesome it is??
Allen Puckett I do, and I still like it.
Allen Puckett me! Still like it. Just awesome.
Yep! Heard Toto's version on the way home from work, and as soon as I went home: straight to CZcams.
I AM!!!!!!!
I definitely am! Can't put it into words, though I've already watched it 1037190 times!
Seeing that no one has commented this for a while, I just wanted to say that this is an awesome cover of an awesome song! Kippis from Finland!
Kippis from slovenia
i discovered this version in high school. we did the same performance for our final concert senior year.
Only just seen it it’s incredible what other covers do they do?
Having listened to many other excellent covers of this fabulous song over the last decade, I still think this is the best. The bass percussion vocalist is outstanding!
that was an extremely well simulated thunderstorm
I actually ran outside to roll my car windows up, only to see that it was sunny...this video totally fooled me.
LOL
+Chris Gd Hahahaha 😂😂😂 WIN

I suggested this version to my son's chorus class. The teacher incorporated it into their list and won the regional award at the annual Disneyworld High school Chorus Honor! #SMHS

The sound of a rainstorm in the beginning Breathtaking
A Slovenian group singing an American song about Africa.
THIS... is how it could be.
chas ames Well said!!! Like Baba Yetu (Our Father) - written by a Chinese American, the Lord's Prayer translated into Swahili and set to a tribal African rhythm, sung by a Gospel choir.
Once in a while we get a glimpse of how awesome it all could be, then others have to go and f**k things up again.
Toto are British, not American
The founders met at the school in California, USA. The band is from the United States, although Simon Phillips was with them for many years instead of Jeff Porcaro. Simon is British, the band is not.
bananton64 no
Right??!? Beauty.
It's really cool how they made the sound of a rainstorm in the beginning!
Adam Borseti yea, with just thier bodies!!
That was insane bro :D
Thank you rain sounds very cool
We did that in my college choir when we performed this song at our spring concert, and even got the audience involved, it was awesome!
we did this in chorus once and we did the same
me and my grampie used to watch this together in 2009 before he died, it's still my favourite cover. every time any version plays it's a solid reminder grampie is right here with me
I’m in 2020 rn and I still love this SO MUCH 🥺
So do I.
Here in Brazil.
Music is the better human's art.
Love so much.

Yo i'm from 2020 too, and Slovenia
Vemont USA checking in.
Yes, they are just so great to listen to!
Over a decade ago I watched/heard this my first time, and well over a dozen times since. I've never heard anyone come close to the talent of this Slovenian group of stars. Just amazing. I never get tired of it! Who knew that Spiderman could sing like that?
I never get tired of watching this, truly amazing. Slovenians are good and kind, and know how to have a lot of fun. And to think all this talent, and all these wonderful people, were trapped away in the former Yugoslavia.
Who are you to talk about Yugoslavia ...
what was wrong with Yugoslavia ? it was the best country in the world !
Kosta Kostov Nothing wrong with Yugoslavia, but it was a powder keg waiting to explode...and it did in the 1990s. Yugoslavia didn't have the same harsh policies as Russia and the Warsaw Pact countries. It's one fatal problem was so many different ethnic backgrounds forced into one federal system. Slovenia has little in common with Serbia, Bosnia, Herzegovina etc. They're more influenced by the Austrians and Italians. Not that there's anything wrong with Serbia or the other republics. It's just that Serbia had the most influence, naturally because it was the biggest Yugoslav republic. We actually have the same problem here in the United States. What California likes may not necessarily be in the best interest of Virginia.
Redstar Yu Probably the most lenient of the former European Socialist countries, where personal liberties were concerned. But Yugoslavia had the problem of so many different ethnic backgrounds, some who didn't get along with their neighbors. That's not to judge Yugoslavia, if that's where you live. It's just that some of the republics really didn't fit in so well. Slovenia didn't have that much in common with the other republics. That's why you see them aligning themselves more with the EU, and adopting the currency.
Lex5576 you know why Yugoslavia fall apart ?!.. after Tito died Milošević (and Mladić) ruined everything what Tito stand for ! the life we lived back then when Tito was alive was truly amazing ! i wish that we can restore that .. but i think that right now this is impossible, to much hate between ex Yugoslavian countries (because of that stupid war) !
Seven years later and it STILL gives me chills!!!!! Perpetuum Jazzile has absolutely raised the bar for performing this song!!!!!
Edit: 2023 and 23+ million views. 23 by ‘23. :-)
Absolutely phenomenal. Proving once again that the human voice is the greatest instrument.
10 years later ...still in awe
This was the first video music my grandson ever saw, at the age of about 18 months. He was so fascinated, he watched the whole song without moving. He's three now, and it's still his favorite!
You gave him the gift of music. Good, Mummy. 🙄
I still remember first seeing this YEARS ago.....still incredible
absolutely amazing beat boxer. he's perfectly keeping the rhythm while not getting distracted by the group.
I have seen a lot of other groups trying to mimic these guys, but they can't even come close.
Beta totally agree! This is literally the best!
Angle City Chorale out of Los Angeles is the best I have heard. Look em up on youtube.. Plus it is a large choir, not a small group like this group.
@@paynelake They can't even come close either...
@@deusexmusica803 Well you have your favorites and I have mine. Just think how boring this world would be if everyone agreed with you.
@@paynelake Yeah true! And I'm glad that you enjoyed this wonderful performance as much as I did. Have a great day!
The intro "thunderstorm" is simply mindblowing.
Do some people seem forget that all we are hearing is just people's voices to re-create this great song? It's pretty damn awesome. Great job
Well, and their hands.
I watched it in 2009... keep coming back. My children loving now. It's a legacy ❤ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
The best Choir of the Universum!!!
Beautyfull. Thank U
a different version of their Africa

Peter Parker over here singing when he's supposed to be GETTING ME PICTURES OF SPIDER-MAN!
+Kevin Wright Glad I'm not the only one thinking this!
I thought he rather looked like Frodo while waiting for the train to mordor, but Peter Parker isn't bad either :'D
+Kevin Wright OK good so I'm not the only one who thought he looked like Toby XD
Where is he?
yes , the love music :-)
This blows me away everytime
Thanks , great music it is....
Me too. EVERYTIME
July 2020. LOVE THIS !!!!!!!
*_Still amazed by this wonderful, amazing group in 2021 since the first time I've seen this very same video years back._* #PerpetuumJazzile
Think together, work together, feel together, it is a true humanity
CopyKid Pardon????
Are u serious ? My nick is protected by trademark. Stop it and delete ur post please.
CopyKid CopyKid. Why would you trademark the name CopyKid... CopyKid.. I mean seriously, and you spelled, "serious" wrong...
idk, I'm not from england or america :)
One of the best renditions of Toto's "Africa" I've ever seen. Check out the way they do the thunder! Amazing.
Imagine what David Paich thinks when he watches this. It's got to be a hell of a feeling seeing these people do such a beautiful job of his song.
...still watching this is 2017, and still loving it! This is still the best version of the song out there. There is another popular video of a different large ensemble, but that version cannot touch THIS performance.
Damn. It's 2017 and listening to this still brings chills.
Walastika Agree! I love it! ❤️

June 2019... first time I've heard it... chills and tears... beautiful!
I just clicked on again for a listen. 09/11/2019
The most beautiful thing I've ever heard.. I mean... This almost makes me cry. BEAUTIFUL. MY FAVORITE SONG IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
A big thank you to you @Pertuum Jazzile because you gave me the inspiration with this song to transmit emotion to a group of autistic children during a musical awakening workshop.
A fabulous moment ... !
Thank's so much.
As you can see below. SEVEN (7) years have passed and I still had to come back to a FAVORITE. I am now 76, and the talent you show hasn't been forgotten. Thanks again.
That guy that is the whole percussion section is such a boss.
Man, how come I've never seen and heard about this group and it's just today? Man, this is pure talent at his best.
They’re from Slovenia, that’s why.
Yes Marcus these are SLOVENIANS the best choir in the world. Greetnings from Ljubljana!!!
I can't remember who suggested this to me 12-14 years ago... whoever you are, see, I remembered.. thank you. This is beyond awesome!
ASTOUNDING rendition of a rain and thunderstorm! Just listen without watching...this is just people's hands, feet, and voices! The thunder is incredible!! Love you, Slovenia! Great job!!
(Stands up and applauds!) Toto would be proud! That was absolutely amazing!
You must see their common Performance then.
They are.
I always cry watching this masterpiece
Every time I see some people singing this I come back here.
NOBODY like Perpetuum Jazzile.
# ONE. No contest...
Still loving it after 11 years ago!
Such a stirring, masterful effort! I've watched this, like a 100 times, and it's like watching it for the first time, every time.
I was about 15 whenever this song came out originally and absolutely loved it then and it never gets old and it still stands hair on my neck and that's 40 years ago now! It stands the test of time for sure. The whole point of this song is not to be able to distinguish one voice from another. It's 100% blend. The beatboxing is phenomenal!!!
They look like they're having so much fun. The little thunderstorm at the beginning was awesome.
hvala iz SLavonskoga Broda....vi ste događaj godine........predivno!!!!!!!
Anyone else notice the guy who does the beat boxing really get into it like hes actually drumming lol
What, are you blind? He IS drumming!
^^
you got to get into it. try to do something else than a whole group at the same time. if you are not getting into it, you can't do it, you get distracted and carried away.
keeps him in time i guess but yeah funny
Absolutely. He keeps tempo to incredible perfection.
@@SssagaBenches4U 😃 absolutely
So glad I found this! Angel City Chorale did your take on this classic 80's song Africa by Toto. But no one did it better than you!!! Tears poured down my face. The heavenly vocals, all percussion being vocal based! I followed you everywhere on social media!!! Best cover ever!!!!
Still watching. Wish a group like this would come here to my area.
I first watched this video in the early days of youtube, I was probably 15 or 16. That was the first time I heard this song.
I'm nearly 30 now, and when I hear the original song nowadays, I always do the "tootoo too too tootootoo paaaaah" thing and the beatboxer's drumming passage just before the chorus.
This video is absolutely monumental and it brings memories of a simpler world. :')
Long live Perpetuum Jazzile
Awsome. Two thumbs up.
Bravo Slovenija.
I LOVE this group! Found them ACCIDENTALLY!!!! Now I look everything up on them. Girl w colored red hair is GORGEOUS!!!!
I could watch this a million times!!!
I have watched it, well many times...
Tell all your friends! It would be great to see 20 million views! They deserve it.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I just visited your beautiful country, Slovenia and now I find your amazing performance of a timeless song. Thank you for your amazingness!
What creation the human mind has to make such beautiful music. Thank you for inspiring my children and myself and those around me. Please continue. Please.
This is one of the most AMAZING videos I have ever seen. I have two favorites on youtube and this is "One" of them. I have shown your video all over and I will never stop being blessed by ALL of your talents!! Thank you for blessing me with my favorite song by TOTO and making it better!!
I rarely experience goosebumps.
This song managed to do so.
Amazing.
I cannot tell enough of my friends about this fantastic video.
Siete bravissimi!!!...complimenti....senza nessuno strumento musicale ma solamente con la voce e con le mani siete riusciti a creare una strumentazione completa!!!...grande arte musicale.😊👌 Italy
Your performance of this song still makes me smile and feel happy.
Respect for the guy who set up and mixed all of those microphones!
ils sont formidables, avec tus ces bruitages. on croirait vraiment de l'eau et de l'orage. BRAVO au groupe
Never seen nor heard anything like this before! Amazing!
This never gets old. Amazing! Special respect for the guys doing Jeff Porcaro's drums and David Paich's keyboards. :)))
I enjoy this more each time I watch it!! Very talented group of people!
CZcams held this one back from me, just showed me today, very nice African version!
Slovenian version 😉🇸🇮
My Tuesday has turned into Wednesday. I’m Bored enough to play “ipad”….and I found this wonderful “Africa”
rendition. Lucky me. Thanks Y’all. Really really nice. Great addition to my music groups. CKN
I've watched this countless times, since it posted, and it's enthralling every single time!
They are from Slovenia 🇸🇮
Me tooooooooooooooooo
Brothers of croatia
Still the most organic version of Africa I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing.
So I discovered this song in 2024! Thanks to utube. I imagine the person who saw them in Slovenia they were on the outdoor stage in the big square in Ljubljana. I visited this city for two weeks and heard wonderful concerts in the music hall and in the square.
Amazing Perpetuum Jazzile.... Hope you can come to the US once humanity has controlled Covid 19. I love your songs and style. Excellent!
Los amo!!!. No me canso de escucharlos desde el 2009. Bendiciones!. Gracias!.
2021 just begin and i still love to watch this :)
Many have done it but none better, actually none even close. This still blows me away. A shout out though should always go out to the African College that performed this kind of performance first. And of course a nod to TOTO for this song.
Ako je ,a jeste iz totto benda iko čuo....može samo da bude ponosan! Remek delo.....svaka čast!
This starts out like some weird group asmr video.
Lmao so true
Lmao
I don't get chills from standard asmr videos, but I got it from this.
Group ASMR actually sounds like a great idea.
Lol
Still amazing. I return here every so often to get a lift. Epic control, conducting, arrangement, talent, performance and joy!
My dear friend Bruce Fitzpatrick, American author, showed me this clip when it first appeared in 2011. This is such an emotional high. If you can't be touched by this incredible performance, please go yo your doctor immediately. Or try one nice smoke. Wow!!!!!
Now that's how you do sound effects!
This is my absolute favorite song they do!
Aroha Love from Aotearoa New Zealand.🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂
I like the laughs, smiles and self applause at the end. They KNOW they nailed it.
That thunderstorm was really cool!
Croatian's second grade (2.d) from Rijeka, elementary school 'Srdoči', adores you. ;)
This is the first song I heard from Perpetuum Jazzile several years ago and I've been a fan since.
Shoot me, but i cant escape the impression that some of those ladies are simply beautiful, i cant take my eyes off them :D. I wont even comment singing - it is godlike. Pozdrav iz Srbije!
All of them are beautiful when they sing.
Awesome! can't just stop watching this. repeat button up for repairs. Amazing creativity and delivery.
if you right click on the play bar you can tick "Loop" and it will loop forever :P
thanks
it never gets old! even our kindergarten and first graders did it for their concert this year!
Nog nooit zo'n prachtig onweer zien weergeven.
The rain sounds really real! ;)
