    Adam & Daniela: almost every country has different "right of way" at roundabouts, many times conflicting..... On another topic it's crucial to improve someone's Spanish. You don't expect not speaking German or English in Germany or Australia. YOU BOTH CAN CONTRIBUTE SO MUCH & HELP BETTER PARAGUAY. Make Paraguay friends, integrate, be part of society, etc. etc.

    • @ADirtCheapLifeParaguay
      @ADirtCheapLifeParaguay  Před měsícem

      Regarding the right of way, yes,, of course, countries have differing laws. The issue we were discussing was not the law but the fact that many people here have a misunderstanding of the law as it applies her.. In regard to the language, we aren't disputing that. Daniela has lived in Paraguay since being a child, speaks fluent Spanish...but to this day is still working on her Guarani. I know others who have lived here for decades and are still working on their Guarani. It's a work in motion.

    Great video- very informative, thank you!
    About epidurals: I delivered two children. First without, then with an epidural.
    Night and day experiences. My recommendation: Definitely do the epidural. Not being in excruciating pain was so much better; and because I was less stressed it was better for the baby also. I have a much more positive memory of the experience than the first time around.

    About the gringo price, we do that here in canada too. It could be selling goods, or cutting their lawn or building a deck. The price is generally going to be higher for working on someone's place who is a clear millionaire then working on someone's place who has a little bungalow.

    • @ADirtCheapLifeParaguay
      @ADirtCheapLifeParaguay  Před měsícem

      I think it happens in most places in different ways. There's many ways that prices can be fixed depending on who's asking the question. I think it's better that we all be honest about the reality as some people try to believe that it doesn't happen. Just something to look out for I guess.

    No brainier to have private health cover in most foreign countries, but I love dogs as you know but certainly not in a hospital lol. Great interview.

    • @ADirtCheapLifeParaguay
      @ADirtCheapLifeParaguay  Před měsícem

      The public wards make the Kaitaia Hospital sound almost ok! They love their pets here. We will get around to doing a vid as the dogs and cats are very different in terms of breed and behaviour. You never see a dog on a chain. They wander around and develop pretty decent road sense. Apart from the highways the traffic rolls at a pretty chilled pace so the dogs do ok.

      The good news is that you don't need vaccinations unless you're travelling through those countries that are part of the yellow fever requirement.

      @@ADirtCheapLifeParaguayand thank you for this fantastic video. I will come back in August to finish my residency and I consider relocating with my wife and 2 young kids. Caacupe and Pirebeby seem to be good places. My main question remains private preschool and schools in Caacupé…

      @@Frugalisme Awesome, thanks for the feedback. Schools are a good idea. I will do some research and see if we can come up with something useful. I can say that most of the people that we know who have moved here tend to homeschool...but not all.

      @@ADirtCheapLifeParaguay As "jobs" in Paraguay have limited potential for newcomers, this could be an entrepreneurial opportunity for someone to consider, opening a private school in the Caacupe or Pirebebuy area? An excellent way to attract more settlers with children and at the same time to create your own job?

    We need to expect bad public hospitals when we pay 10% of tax and public system costs millions in any place of world.. For simple things I agree public hospitals for sure.

    • @ADirtCheapLifeParaguay

      I could tell you some horror stories of experiences we've had in NZ hospitals. And people there are taxed to death. High tax and quality health care don't necessarily go hand in hand.
