Will probably be my 2nd Rolex after coming from a 36 mm explorer. Will definitely be great addition to my collection.
I was lucky to obtain one. Pictures do no justice to this watch. This is a must see in person. This is truly the best Rolex GMT.
It truly is, I personally like it.
IMO the rootbeer is the best watch Rolex is making today.
Seen one in the real metal and it’s truly stunning! I personally think this might be more of a future classic than the Pepsi.
Agree completely on holding monetary value. When I started buying watches I started with 1 tag and 3 breitlings. I still have them and never wear them… but it pains me to sell them for 30% of what I paid for them. So they just stay in my box collecting dust.
❤️
Love your channel Ridah. You are quickly becoming one of my "must watch" watch guys. I happen to be lucky enough to have this piece and it is beautiful in every way. Great video.
Thank you Scott, truly appreciated :)
I have a couple of Tag Heuer's and a pretty nice Breitling Chronomat. I was all set to buy another Breitling that costs $20k. I started watching a lot of video's on Rolex watches and learned how not only do they obtain their value but even go up in value. That totally changed my mind about buying the Breitling, and I bought my first Rolex. A two tone black and gold Submariner. Love it. Love the investment. And I'm looking to buy one more Rolex. Thanks for your video.
I was put on the waiting list for this beauty when it came out. But almost immediately my AD called and told me he had the Steel GMT Master II Black. I went in and took that and skipped the wait list and saved the Five grand. But have always regretted the decision a little. Not terribly but a little. Fast forward the same AD just got me a new 41mm Submariner date Black. Now I have two Black bezel watches that look like fraternal twins. Now I want to circle and trade in my GMT Master II Black and get this one. I know rich people problem. Nice video.
Love Rolex two tone, have the recently updated Sub in LB and bought the Rootbeer for my better half yesterday. It’s a stunner....
Thanks for a great, informative video! I have never bought a watch with resale value as a consideration. Until now. I have been flipping watches for decades, and of course losing money on each one. But had a great time along the way, no regrets. So, this year I turned 71, and being retired, my disposable income for luxury watches has all but disappeared. For months now, I have been looking for the one watch I will keep and will be the center of my collection. I was actually surprised that it has turned out to be a Rolex. I saw a pre owned Root Beer last week at a local AD which, of course was going for far above retail. When I tried it on, I absolutely loved it and knew it is going to be the one. However, I did not get that one. Instead, I contacted my Rolex AD, with whom I have a good history, and am now on the waiting list. I am going to be patient, and guessing maybe a 2 year wait or more. But I am glad that I am also getting a watch that really will retain it's value. Very important to me at this stage of the hobby! Your video quality is excellent, although no pictures I have seen do justice to this watch. It is gorgeous! Cheers, Carl
Your videos are short, sharp and packed with excellent information. I hit the notification bell a while ago for your channel.
Thank you for being part of Watch Society 😊
The lighting is superb.
A very articulate presentation of a beautiful watch
I've watch your video and I've paid for a root beer. I'm picking this watch up in a few week. Thanks again
well done video, thanks. I just got my Root Beer, very happy with it!
One most genuine GMT Master ll Root Beer review I've seen to date. Thanks for posting this bro and keep up the amazing work!
Thank you brother, it comes down to the truth, always and will keep it this way. About time for a catch-up :)
Watch Society Absolutely my friend. I’m available to chat anytime today or this week. When’s a good time for you?
Let’s pin something for this Friday, your morning if that works :)
Watch Society Sounds great. Keep me posted on what’s a good time for you. Thinking maybe 7am my time? We’ll be closing on my current house later that morning or early afternoon 👍!
It took me a year just to find one, and it's still 6-12 months out from delivery, and then a flight to Europe to pick it up!!
I have just added one to my small Rolex collection and I LOVE it
I just picked it up...just wow. I thought i wanted a pepsi but come on this is the best combo.
Congratulations 🎊🎈🍾 happy for you, wear it in good health, this GMT is an absolute beauty
Pepsi is king
Tanja Nina king of emptiness.
@@tanjanina6478 blnr oyster is king of GMT’s
Great summer watch, nice size with its multi function’s makes it a keeper.
Great points and great video. Just got the call from the AD for mine, very excited.
Let me add that discontinued yellow gold two tone 💛 is amazing
I love mine, it’s looks amazing. I prefer the two tone version over the all gold. I also love my Pepsi equally which of course is an entirely different look.
The pink gold on the root beer pared with the black brown Basel really nice i must say
I guess I’ve never really put much thought to purchasing a timepiece that will hold its value and I’ve had Omega, Breitling, Bell & Ross Nomos and Tudor just to name a few.
If you had to choose between the TT Bluesy or TT Rootbeer, which would you choose and why? Both are beautiful!
Seriously cool watch. Totally unique in the Rolex line up. With the oyster bracelet and super case this guy is at home in any setting. Jump before it goes full dressy in jubilee and chocolate dial. I can't wait to wear mine out an about when out and about is a thing again........
Well said Jeremy. I end up buying it czcams.com/video/xITGI4cohsc/video.html
@@WatchSociety awesome! It's just soo good. Enjoy it in good health!
Always look forward to your videos....the root beer is a gorgeous watch...a little too noticeable for my personal wear but beautiful all the same.
It really is Mike, wouldn’t be my first pick, however, if the budget allows it could be the occasional one to wear from time to time
I had a two tone gmt gold and steel, paid 8000 prior to discontinue, only sold for 8500 2 years later, lucky enough to put towards a root beer , beautiful watch the best in terms of looker.....2 tones dead apparently.......
found your channel when researching the root beer. My AD said I am next in line so wanted to know if I should pull the trigger.
Definitely
I believe that perhaps value retention is more of a consideration after a certain price point, which of course may be different for each budget. Purchasing a V.C. will likely come with different considerations than those that come with buying a Citizen. At the end of the day i still subscribe to the idea of buying what you like. If i like something, what i place value in is in the object itself ie craftsmanship, aesthetics etc. To be fair that is more of a “romantic” approach, and perhaps less of a practical one, which of course does not work for all.
Such a beautiful watch!!!!
So amazing!!
Thank you
Even though I don’t sell, the fact I can liquidate is important. There is a big difference between market value and hype value. Buy smart and you can always buy what you love. Second hand watches on the pre owned market have already took the depreciation and most good watches will match economy
Well said
I think the rose two tone yacht master is just is nice
Would you sell up the explorer 1 mk2 for GMT Pepsi or New Kermit ? Or hold on to it long term?
If i a really had for a BLRO, yes. I would however try my best to keep the 214270
Love the Rootbeer 😜👍
Its really something :)
Great video made me fell
In love more on a good investment watch … more than happy to own a hulk and just now a present from my wife this Rootbeer. 🤓
A great looking watch! My favorite is the Everose
Two tone pink gold on a GMT, can’t get any better. Although I have discovered a new love with this Ultra thin :) 👉🏽czcams.com/video/WiL_8ej1-w8/video.html check it out
also I would love to see your video about watches that hold value with some top picks from you.
Coming up next :)
Sharp analysis!!
❤️
Nice vid.
Thank you
After my hulk I want a SS white Daytona. The rootbeer is my safety watch.
116500LN is nice :)
Couldn’t agree anymore just would edited it a bit and say that if it’s 5 or more watches make sure it’s retained value in it. I love nice timepieces but couldn’t justify the money I spent on it if I knew it would lose value in time or not retain what I spent for it at the very least.
I was offered the opportunity to purchase one but I decided against it. My AD mentioned that I am up for a white Daytona this year and I feared that if I purchased the root beer my opportunity to purchase the former would be compromised.
I am at peace with my decision and after securing the Daytona this year I will request the root beer. Its all about patience...
True, the 116500LN without a doubt.
The Root Beer TT looks much better than the solid RG.
I like the full rose more tbh
TT is stronger than gold and better than full gold for daily use.
How about other topics than Rolex? Second episode of the Zenith collector? Too many you tubers only focus on Rolex.
Very nice looking watch, but wayyyy out of my price range.
Bold of you to assume I have that type of money
Rootbeer and daytona are the best rolex in the market,if the new submariner worth 23 k the rootbeer should cost 30 k a daytona panda 35 k
Well said Mauricio
If a green SS Hulk is over 20k this needs to be 30k...it's too undervalued at MSRP
@@watchingandseeing wait till it gets a few more years under its belt since 2018 release. It’ll be rumoured to discontinue and the price will rocket. Already well over retail grey market
Look at the market price now. It's only going up.
Hey bro love your videos, I order the all gold root beer my A.D text me today that I’m 2 to 3 weeks out from taking delivery can do me a favor and do a review on this watch🍺🍺🍺
now I want a rolex root beer 😂
Me too :)
Must have but impossible to get...;(
Not really- I got one in 2 weeks from the AD here in London, no prior purchase history
@@rajmehta6210 well done man !
@@rajmehta6210 congrats. You can never get it without purchase history in Asia.
@@therealkiasu interesting, in London steel models are in demand TT is much more readily available.
@@rajmehta6210 Pretty much nothing is available in Asia. And there's no such thing as waiting list here. It's only ''preferred client'' list. You won't get anything if you aren't a ''preferred client''.
It's the best Rolex has to offer. What I'm against is the arrogance Rolex, displays to all it's customers. Waiting lists, buy a few cheaper watches first, build up a relationship with the AD, etc, etc.
The facts are, firstly their watches are actually worth less than half of the retail price. It's just a watch, and not worth getting humiliated for by the AD, who forces you to buy other Rolexs, before he can take you seriously for getting the watch you actually want. Hey, it's your money which they want, so they should be bending over backwards to get it.
This whole charade is taking advantage of the human psyche and manipulating people.
Remember, that coronavirus has changed the world drastically, and forever. The need for such superfluous stuff, has gone out the window. Very soon Rolex will be begging people to buy their watches, but there'll be no takers.
This is not a case of sour grapes, because I have one of these since the last 2 yrs.
I think anyone who was buying before hype started in 2017 is finding it easy to get the sought after models now. Anyone new , they see you as speculator or following hype. They changed their model to prevent this type of buyer , hence buying lesser models to get at sports models helps them deter speculators . If the sports were easy access, they wouldn’t be desired. They were losing their appeal prior to 2017, many SS varieties available . Hence their shift in policy
