I can't imagine having to eat a big meal before bed just to stay asleep... I have enough to worry about with acid reflux (because I used to have a habit of eating before bed, before I found out it wasn't healthy for you)

Dave this actually motivated me to get a spotter today and push for the 6 reps. I usually train alone and never ask for a spot. Trying to break plateaus thanks for the good advice!

I used to believe I needed to eat before bed to sleep well. Now I sleep like a baby without food for 4-5 hours before bed. Dave seems to be burping up his food while he speaks at times.

You can grow from any number of reps up to around 30. With 4-8 reps you'll recruit the high threshold motor units without failing whereas to recruit them with higher reps you'll need to fail, which is more fatiguing.
Dave's clueless, muscles don't grow by being torn down.....

I think we all know rep ranges...
5 and under is pure strength, not muscle.
8-12 is hypertrophy (aka muscle growth).
15+ is endurance.
(yes, some numbers are not included)
that is according to old sources anyways, but the recent science says you can still grow at 6-35 as long as you are hitting failure. but it's harder to judge at higher reps.
7-9rep💪🏋♂️🤔🙄

3-6 strength plus muscle
6-15 is muscle or hypertrophy
15-30 is for endurance

I have never seen a modem bodybuilder do 4 to 6 reps to build muscle.
That’s because doing 4 reps in a hypertrophy program is actual clown behaviour.

@@RNE1993 Yeah….no. You didn’t read what I wrote. Everybody responds differently to how they train based on genetics, intensity, volume and weight. You can’t say XYZ won’t put muscle on with 3 to 4 reps. Mechanical tension is not mutually exclusive the same for everyone, including what type of movement. Again, I question your knowledge on the mechanics of weight-lifting in general.
