Omniman in the most recent mid season finale Nolan is going through a fascinating redemption arc and I really like the conflicted feelings Nolan is experiencing and how he now has empathy and compassion for the Thraxans and is defending them despite how much he clearly hates himself for going against his people. Nolan has the potential to go down an iconic character arc akin to Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender. J.K Simmons deserves all the praise for how amazing he plays this character and Steven Yeun equally deserves praise how realistic and powerful he plays Marks inner confusion, hatred and disbelief in trusting his father
Believe me when I say Nolan may be scary but you haven't seen nothing yet when they introduce Conquest and especially Grand Regional Thragg, the leader and most dangerous and evil villain in the Invincible comic

He's not even close to a redemption arc in the show.
He's doing the "right" things, but they're entirely for selfish reasons. He's doing it because it makes him feel good.

He does a amazing job at playing angry characters
The scary part about omni-man is that the guy is practical, doesn't waste time, no mercy, straight to the killing. Quick and easy. And as you mention, he's smart and uses the surprise at his advantage. So fast, suddenly and letal. Not a lot of chances to survive facing him.

Personally homelander is scarier the likley hood of him going rampage is much higher yes omiman stomps homelander but he’s far more stable and has objectives that can be obtained with minimal loss of life homeland is just insane

Very similar to Zuko from Avatar and The Last Airbender. Nolan might be my favourite character for how fascinating his conflicted feelings of empathy and compassion go against his people's heritage and devotion to their cause.

Just like Homelander, he’s the most powerful “hero” but unlike Homelander he’s calmer, more powerful and smarter.
What makes Omniman scary isn't his raw power, though that is part of it, its how human and relatable his motivations are. So many comic villains are just evil to be evil or for some inane reason that no one can understand. With Nolan, we have a man who was raised to hold extreme patriotic and imperialistic ideals and who has gone through a lifetime of indoctrination. Its something we've seen happening in the real world all too frequently with terrifying results and it can lead people to commit unspeakable acts. The conflict Nolan has between what he feels and what he was taught to feel is something all to relatable and intriguing.

People who obsess over Homelander vs Omni-Man strength levels fail to realize Homelander may as well be Omni-Man in that universe and have missed the point. Nothing can stop him if he decied to go psycho, and he's always on the verge of going psycho.

I think this works better if you had called him an antagonist rather than a villain. As far as Invincible goes, he is an antagonist for the early part of the story, but then shifts away from that into a supporting protagonist.
That's not saying that your analysis is wrong, but it most likely should have been focused differently

Honestly, the likes of Homelander, Sukuna, and Mahito are absolutely terrifying villains that make the joker and the likes seem like terrible written villains.
While the story of Jujutsu Kaisen might be rushed it is good.

You have entirely missed the point with his caring for Earth. He doesn't. He only left because he cared for Mark, not Earth. He makes this super clear in season 2, when he actually *does* feel for a people for once, and starts asking "Why didn't I feel this on Earth? Why didn't I care?"
Dude had zero remorse for any of the deaths he used as 'training tools' for Mark, and only went into exile because of that relationship. He really did view his wife as a pet.
Homelander may not be as strong as omni-man but he is much scarier imo.

The trope has been around for way too long. It is hitting harder now thanks to the Marvel Movies, but it was already used, and much more effectively in pretty much every other media, including animation. Remember Dragon Ball Z? Viltrumites same story as Saiyans, and even there they have more nuances, having being conquered themselves by a stronger force. For the comics, Mark Waid and Warren Ellis, made a whole career of exploiting these kinds of characters: there are power couple, a Doctor Doom look-alike (Empire), and yes, a Superman pastiche (The Plutonian). In the comics medium, and also in animated movies, this trope was put to rest in the seminal Superman story: What's So Funny About Truth, Justice & the American Way? over 20 years ago. Look into Planetary, Kingdom Come, Squadron Supreme, among others.
