I've met your buddy at a meet before - very cool guy. Scott the hood looks great man. You knocked it out of the park with your 2.0.
Thanks bro. Gotta get together soon. Meets on 9/22 (Mohegan Sun) and 9/29 (Stormville,NY - a CT/NY Border wars meet by #845mopars). Think you'll make either of these?
The Viper hood looks awesome . Nice seeing all the mods you have done to your Charger .
Thanks man. Probably the last big mods I'll do for a few months. Back to making car meet and POV driving videos!
Hood looks amazing Scotty, I love it. Really sets off the whole look of the front and gives it a more aggressive appearance.
Yeah man, totally agree about the aggressive look. Still getting used to it from behind the wheel too! Thanks for the watch bro.
Amazing man. Looks great. I love the look of it and. Love that it is functional. I never even knew such a good existed. Love it bro
I saw an R/T with this hood at one of the NY meets last winter and pretty much decided at that point that I was gonna get one. Really happy with it. Thanks Burnsey!
I really am enjoying your mod videos lately bud, you really have transformed your Charger big time which I find very inspiring as I'm in the process of obtaining ideas for my own car!
🙏🙏 You were thinking of a louver right? Go for it! They look especially cool on challengers!
I'm certainly getting rear window louvers, probably more of an old-school look next year & Mopar Stage 1 lowering springs for starters. I just had all new ceramic 4-wheel brakes & rotors installed along with a new alternator (factory recall) & a 4-wheel alignment which really made a big difference, slowly getting there.
Great video! Congrats on the newest mods too!
Thanks bro. Still doin a double take when I look at it.
Awesome video. The hood looks amazing. Better air flow too.
Thanks J. Definitely enjoying the increased attention it gets on the road.
Your car was already unique before the V2.0 but now its stands out from the rest for sure
Thanks E. You been with me from the start bro.
Looks great with the stripes. Great upgrade.
Thanks man. Went to my first car show this past weekend after all the 2.0 mods and got more attention than I did previously, which was nice.
Yea man love it she coming along man
Cool walk through on that process. BADA$$ hood brother🔥🔥🔥
Thanks J. Just had a co-worker come up to me and say "your car looks like it wants to take a bite out a my leg when I walk by it". 😈 Mission complete!
CTCharger Haha. That thing looks mean as hell for sure.
Awesome job, definitely makes your car stand out !
Appreciate it brother. Thanks for watching👍
I dig the new intro! The hood looks killer. Definitely going to have to do something about the water. Like #25
Thanks JP, and you gave the only comment on the intro. Took me 3 hours to make that stupid 10 second clip! Appreciate it. 👍
It’s tight!
Very good video Scotty. I never saw the install process on mine. Yeah, after it rains, I always drain the water before I start driving. Your hood looks better lined up than mines haha. My people said they had a little trouble lining it up with my bumper but yours look pretty flushed. Good job
My installer was really impressed with the fitment on this hood. He was expecting a lot of trouble like you mention, but he said it pretty much dropped right in. 👍
@@CTHellcat Wow nice. So glad everything worked out. Looking nice man
@@JayMac95 did you go with duraflex or trufiber?
@@LILILILILI0 Truefiber! Didnt know the were others
That hood looks so mean! I do have to say I like it best with the strips it really adds to it nicely! They did a great looking gob on the hood for ya! I will be curious to see what you do for the water because I am sure that probably gets annoying.
Thanks Bee. Took me by surprise the first time I opened the hood after some rain. I literally jumped back and said WTF???
The hood look amazing Scott!
Your charger is more aggressive!
I also like the red & black stripe on the charger!
Great Video!
Thanks man, and thanks for the sub! Just sub'd back.
I was always sub to you. The problem was the notification Bell was acting up so I unsubscribe And subscribe back so the notification Bell could work.
@@SteelBlueBody Gotcha! You getting close to that 1k sub mark!!!
Yeah thanks! I'm still working on it!
I will get there
Very nice mod brother 😎
Thanks bro. Looking forward to our next meet. Gotta make one happen soon!
Looks awsome bro
Thanks man. I'm definitely digging it. The view from behind the wheel is pretty cool.
That is a sweet mod
Thank you sir!
My friend with the T/A hood still has to rig up his windshield squirters, Joel did a nice job on your hood! I get bugs in the the back of my engine compartment from my scoop. I really like how this hood looks on your car!!
Yeah, didn't even think about the bugs, but your right. Fortunately we only have to deal with bugs for 6 months of the year!!!
Yo yo I'll be in southington ct today. Btw love that hood!!!! Sorry didnt see you reply to my other comment. I'll be there a bit after 2.
How long will you be there? I could get there around 5. Send me the address.
@@CTHellcat I'll be there all night

Lol ! I like it more without striping because u can see the center scoop better looks more aggressive
Very true! The center scoop kind of gets lost in the black stripe. I need to get one of those red lights that goes back and forth inside the vent to better highlight it!
Looks great, just curious to know how the engine compartment is holding up due to rain, and if you drilled the holes for water evac?
Yes, a drilled a single drain hole right behind the hood latch at the front of the hood. The side vent reservoirs actually channel water down to the front vent reservoir, so a single hole there will suffice for the entire hood. Very nicely designed by true fiber, although I don't know why they didn't put a drain hole in themselves.
Also, I recently bought a used hellcat and the hellcat hood vents have no reservoir under the vent, so water literally drops right into the engine bay. I find the true fiber design to be far superior than the stock hellcat hood, so I will likely be installing the true fiber hood on the hellcat.
Thanks really appreciate it! Think I'm definitely going to go Trufiber and wrap the hood rather than a hellcat hood.
Awesome job man, makes your charger look wicked mean! I'm looking into something similar, do the reservoirs prevent water from dripping when you're driving? I like that this hood's got that going for it, but the one I'm looking to buy doesn't have any sort of water channeling, especially for the upward facing vents. I know our cars are rated for water, but have you had any other problems with water?
Thanks man! Yeah I love how this hood channels the water. Main thing to be concerned about is keeping the air intake filter dry. If you have a closed box intake, you'll be fine. But if it's open on top, then you'll need to be careful about your hood choice.
@@CTHellcat Thanks for the input! I've been on the fence for a bit, and this and/or suspension will be the next mods for mine. Yeah I'm thinking about running my stock air box with the default engine cover (might paint it) so that most of the important bits should be covered.
Scott wow it looks amazing !! Really like it ! Honestly I liked it even more without the racing stripes ! Looked different !
Thanks Frank. You never know - I might get tired of that vinyl peeling and bubbling up and rip it all off!
Nice video, have you heard anything about the hood replacement voiding any factory warranty's with the water? I have been thinking about it but still have full warranty on mine.
I think it's highly unlikely that a different hood would violate the warranty. ScatPacks and Hellcats have the same problems with water getting into the engine bay. If you have a vent in any hood that opens into the engine bay, then water is going to get in there at some point.
@@CTHellcat Cool, thanks, definitively helps relieve my concerns, appreciate the info!
HI Everyone - I resolved the water issue shown at the end of this video by drilling a hole right behind the hood latch on the underside/front of the hood. I used an 1/4 inch drill bit, which made a hole big enough to allow water to drain out of the forward reservior while the hood is closed. The hole is also positioned right above latch opening in front of the radiator, so the water drains right down through that gap.
Any videos or pics of where you drilled the hole? Having a water issue with my viper hood
@@rileycamp2063 are you on Instagram? I could send you a pic.
@@CTHellcat Yes I am. It’s @rileycamp3 thank you!
So does the hood latch work properly I thought with fiberglass hoods you needed hood pins
No problem with the latch and I haven't had to use pins. I've since put this hood on a 2016 hellcat and had no problems there either. You do have to take all the hardware off your factory hood though, like the latch U bolt, but as long as that's mounted correctly you shouldn't have an issue.
I bought this dodge charger viper hood but I must fabricate it so water doesn't get in it..how do I do this?
Water should only enter the engine bay through the front facing vent in the middle and only when you're underway. As far as the six side vents, I drilled a hole in the front near the hood latch to let water drain out.
What hood is this and what website?
It's called the Viper hood and you can get it at www.trufiber.com
Will you're engine be affected by the rain
No, this hood had really good drainage, unlike some others that open directly into the engine bay.
Looks like a stingray from top view. If manufactured would of gotten a contract with GM!? I found definitely see this on a Corvette Stingray! #$$$$$$
Yep, it does look like it would work on stingray!!!
coool
Thanks Matt!
How much was this hood ?
The Hood was $699, but you gotta leave some money for paint/prep and fitment. Figure about $900 depending on what you want to do with Paint and/or Wrap.
@@CTHellcat ok great Thanks
My hood wrap and urs look almost alike basically twins check mines out on my channel 👌🏽
yah no thanks i would buy from a company that had the holes for washer nozzles
This video is 5 years old and at the time there were only a couple hood options. Many more options now and many of them include nozzle holes.
