- We had to purchase this unit after another dehumidifier (The Midea Brand) broke down. It looks quite small but the packaging says it can cover 3000 square feet, check out the unboxing and overview for insights on what this unit can do, what is included in the box and how we intend to use it. I don't think it's ideal for a space of 3000 square feet unless you use the drainage hose. With only .52 gallons within the unit, you would be constantly draining it.

After using this for about a month, I would have to change my opinion on how well this unit dehumidifies (5:05). This unit pulls more moisture out of the air than our larger unit with a bigger bin. It's a small bin (less than a gallon) but I can pull up to 3 gallons of moisture out of the air per day! We have started using a 3 gallon jug and a short hose to drain into instead of relying on the small bin.

Does it turn back on if the power goes out?
Good question, I went and checked after a recent power outage and YES, it did turn back on and it was on the same setting it was before. I've just left it on and ran a 'flat hose' under the garage door so I don't even worry about emptying the bin anymore. I should go check it though, other than verifying if it's on still, I haven't taken a close look at how it's operating. Every now and then I check the hose outside and sure enough it's continually dripping water out.
