I think people feel powerless to change the Chinese government because we aren't Chinese citizens, and even if we were the Chinese government doesn't handle activism well. Plus, I know the US isn't worse, but we have our own crap going on with the pandemic, the election shenanigans, and the civil unrest/police kidnappings and brutality that has left us too emotionally drained to talk about other things. Now there's supposedly parents who are training their kids to be soldiers in a race war there. :/

I agree, we're not Chinese citizens, and there's no way we can "force" change on the Chinese government anyway whatsoever (especially after the trade war and the Corona virus crisis)... We really can't do anything other than reminding the Chinese government of what's humane and morale... The rest is certainly up to them
      It's really sad

@Wandering Philosopher I guess we could stop bringing the topic in a manner that makes Chinese decision makers all protective and defensive... Because when they are that way, we can be most certain that all change is not real and that all action is done just to silence the criticism (and they might as well ignore it, or forcefully silence the opposition)... I really don't know how we can do that, but I just know that there should be a better way to solve this situation
I hope people in the Tibet and Uyghur region, all people in all China and outside of it can enjoy a good happy care free life, with no oppression and no hardship imposed on them...

But it would seem that most people aren't bilingual, and if they are they only know English or other languages that are close to theirs (Koreans often have an easier time learning Japanese). I don't know why it was a question specific to Americans and not people in general...
