Very interesting and thorough review. Think I might try colored pencils with my Lamy Safari. I still like using watercolour with my water-soluble pen ... exciting and risky. Love the way you start the sketchbook at the back, sneaking up on it from behind, so to speak 😂

Thank you, Donna! I prefer myself watercolor with ink over the colored pencils, but lately I ended up with colored pencils in my sketching kit on the go as more convenient in terms of portability.

Different papers work good with different mediums... I would not like it coming through the paper either!

I find that a paper that bleeds through is less versatile for my uses, as I like to use mixed media in my sketchbooks, at least to stand a wash of watercolor. This Canson sketchbook is designed for pencil drawing, for which is perfect, but I like to experiment with other media on specific designed sketchbooks. I have had a few good surprises with notebooks designed for notes taking, that took very well a few washes of watercolor.
