Maurice once said about their voices, one of us is OK, two of us is pretty good, three of us together is magic.
I totally agree.
He was so modest. They all were great solo singers but, yes, they were magical and incomparable together. And that was just singing. They were phenomenal composers and song writers
The beetles was good but The Bee Gees were the best the amazing voices and harmony was the greatest
Well said 👍❣️
Chad these guys are better than The Beatles!
Beatles cannot do this
Totally agree
Fully agree! Bee Gees head above all other overrated groups like Beatles and etc.
I think so too 👍🏻 their back catalogue of songs is so extensive 👍🏻 great band ♥️
lmao not in this lifetime
Oh, trust me! Robins voice is appreciated. Many many people love him the Most!!!
Barry's soft ballad voice gets me everytime....I get lost in Barry's voice!
So good to watch too
I love this song. Barry's soft ballad tone, Robin with his vibrato, and Maurice just finds the perfect harmony.
Best harmony group ever.. I just love hearing them.
Each brother had a great voice by themselves but together they were the BEE GEES
Robin, Barry, and Maurice knew that they were GREAT, TOGETHER!
Robin brought total emotion into the harmonies. When Mo comes in, the sound transports anyone who is tuned in to it. You’re right. That is why the magic only happened when they were together.
Perfectly said!!!
I grew up listening to BeeGees. Reminds me of my late uncle and Granpa's - they just love this band and always play Beegees musics every afternoon.
One of the most beautiful songs that they have ever wrote. Robin sounds angelic.
Yes, Maurice was, and still is, a major hunk. He had a certain sensual individuality about him in so many ways.
I think Mo witnessed the clashes between Barry and Robin and chose to be the peacemaker. He was the "whatever you need" brother.
Mo has joked many times about this song as the man in the middle because he was sometimes the peace maker. But if you listen his solo of Closer Than Close you can find his attempt to save his marriage because of his alcoholism.
I loved Robin’s voice best! His tone is sooo unusual but gorgeous
Mo was so good. He was the glue Barry said it many times.
I can’t imagine the pain they felt,losing him.😪💕
Morris was an absolute talent in his own right.
Dear Chad, I saw again this reaction, 03/ 2023, and I have understanded(😳) beat that you say...and I cried. You're so sensible Man, so sweet and authentic...and, it's true that you think : there are a Lot of fans de BGs who says that "Barry Is the best , the number one" and isn't true. THE THREE WERE ESSENTIALS FOR THESE "GLORIAS" THAT YOU HEARD... ROBIN'S VOICE IS A MEDICINE.... THEIR HUMOR AND RESPECT TO THE AUDIENCE, THEIR EDUCATION, ARE REMARQUABLE..MO HELPS EVER ROBIN AND BARRY IN THEIR ETAPE SOLOS...EVER HE WAS "THE BEST MAN IN THE MIDDLE"!!!! The best fraternel, affectif, and ver y beatiful and sexy Man..we knowed the bee gees but we wont that they Made you HAPPY...SINCERELY... ☺️...THE COVID WAS TERRIBLE, IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT MUSIC....AND WE'RE HAPPY WHEN WE WATCH YOUR PLEASURE, YOUR SURPRISE, HEARDING THEM. THE BEE GEES ARE HELPED ME SO MUCH... ALL THE GOOD MUSIC, BUT SPECIALLY THEM...NEVER IS TOO LATE FOR KNOW THEM!!!! THEY ARE TENDER WITH OUR HEARTS!!! BE BLESSED , MY ENGLISH IS SO BAD!!! I WAN'T TO USE THE TRANSLATE... THE BGs ARE UNITED YOU WITH US...the old fans...WELCOME TO THIS BEAUTIFUL UNIVERSE "BEE GEES"... THEY MADE OF THE WORLD a best place... this crazy world... WE LOVE YOU CHAD," REALLY and SINCERELY" , as my ángel Robin sings.... ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪💪💪👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🌹🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷😘😘😘😘😘
OMG Barry is so good looking omg I am 65 was about 17 when they came out strong they have the best voices. Robin's voice is great as well as Maurice's. THey need to give that sound!!! I started a joke's voice is crazy!!! Maurice is super talented he plays the piano. Such a great sadness when Maurice and Robin left this Earth what sadness! But hey such is life.
Thanks for giving Robin and Maurice credit for their talents.
A lot of people don't know that Robin didn't play an instrument on stage except in a few videos but he could play the piano, organ, melotron , guitar and other instruments. He and his son RJ Gibb wrote the Titanic Requiem but Robin was unable to go to the premiere because he was too sick.
@@cynthiadaves1933 - His voice was the only instrument he needed.
That's true Robin's voice was all of the instrument he needed.
The Gibb brothers wouldn't be the BEEGEES without all the voices combined. All in their own rights are beautiful singers. Their unique voices and brotherly togetherness is what I believe made them what they are today. Australian Icons
I think people believe that Maurice was hard done by by not singing more solos. He sang beautiful high harmonies, he arranged most of the songs down through the years, he played bass and keyboard (self taught) and had a beautiful voice too. Barry and Robin were amazing but Maurice completed the group. Barry once said that he and Robin sang melody and Mo instinctively knew where the harmonies would fit in. He was a genius and I don't think he was unhappy with his place in the band. Lovely reaction, thanks.
I agree!! Each brother had his own special gifts. The three of them together was so much greater than the sum of the individual parts.
Miriam Kirk - @ 1:40 is a perfect example of what you said. Two amazing lead singers, Barry softer and bluesy, Robin powerful and soulful and the Maurice comes in with the perfect harmony and piano to make the magic complete. At times their voices could be indistinguishable when they sang together as only sibling genetics can do and all three could switch from tenor to baritone to falsetto. A Robin girl here but I know the magic was when the three brothers blended.
@@susieq9801 yes you describe Barry's and Robin's voices to a tee. Robin's wife describes his voice as ethereal and angelic especially when she would wake in the middle of the night and hear him putting ideas for a new song on paper that had just come to him. It's all in the blend, as you say. I love what each of them bring to the group but if a gun was held to my head and I had to choose my favourite it would definately be Maurice!! :)
@@miriamkirk7293 - Everyone is allowed their favorite. :)
I liked Robin for his eccentricity and wit. Could you imagine waking up to that voice in the night, especially in an 800 year old monastery!!!!
@@susieq9801 That would absolutely be 'Too much Heaven'! :)
Their harmonies in this song during the chorus just gives me goosebumps!!!!!!
Why can’t they release these songs today. Young people would love this music. They could have a whole new following.
❤❤❤❤ BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL GOOSEBUMPS!!!❤❤❤❤
Robin's voice is so beautiful emotional and most of my favourite Bee Gees songs are the ones where Robin has a prominent role. I think Barry has a more versatile voice and Robin's voice doesn't suit all songs, but I love it and always find myself listening for Robin's harmony part and watching him in live performances. They wouldn't have been the Bee Gees without all 3 of them, including Maurice's harmonies and musical contribution.
MO liked being in the background , he didn't like the upfront thing.
Barry and Robin used to get into disagreements and Mo always tried his best to keep the peace between them.
Robin's voice WAS appreciated. And so was Maurice's.
Maurice was the unsung hero of the group.
Those glorious harmonies. Brings tears to my eyes. Otherworldly. ❤
I had the priviledge of meeting Maurice once here in Miami, and he was such an awesome guy and took time to speak to a fan....RIP awesome DUDE
Masters of harmony...precise, smooth, clear, and you can understand every word. How could anyone ever tire of those beautiful voices!?!
I just LOVE this song, their voices, their gorgeous young faces and the lyrics. This song just touches my heart. Great reaction Chad!❤❤❤
It took all three to make them what they were. (Great)
When this was first on the radio, I would just stop dead to hear it every time. Still gives me chills.
You're absolutely right about Maurice. Very unsung, and had the most thankless job in the band. Barry and Robin were the bricks, Maurice was the mortar. He weaved his harmonies in between what Barry and Robin were doing, whatever was needed, whether the high, middle or low part. He was the kind of the musical director of the band, and on a personal level, he was the peacekeeper. He even often referred to himself as "the man in the middle." Maurice and Robin being twins, they had a natural "shorthand" with each other. Barry's and Robin's relationship was much more competative, complex and volatile. They didn't always get along, and Barry said when I saw him on tour about 5, 6 years ago, that it was like "oh, something's wrong or something going on with Robin, I need to go ask Maurice what's going on." Even though the all loved each other, it wasn't always easy. And there's a reason why Barry and Robin never recorded together again after Maurice died. And yes, Maurice was a hunk, much more understated than Barry, but he was my mom's favorite.
His voice is what made me know who the beegees were. I started a joke got me. It literally stopped me in my tracks. I was enthralled. It was on the Tom Jones Show. I'm almost 65.
Mo is Magic!
One of my absolute favorite Bee Gee’s songs. ♥️
❣️❣️❣️My ALL Time favorite group ❣️
it did take all three of them... why are you even questioning that? Obviously they struggled with who was the most important over the years... but after watching so many interviews, they seemed to realize that they needed each other.
I’m totally in love and obsessed with Robin’s heavenly voice 🎶♥️ RIP Robin, Mo, Andy🥰🎶 You three amazing men are missed around the world!!😢❤️🎶🎶🎶
Maurice was the one that kept the family together also. You are truly right Chad he never got enough recognition, he could do it all Maurice
I think Robin's voice was/is very much appreciated. He is a legend and truly one of a kind!!!!
Do you know what Chad, I love Barry and I love his voice but there’s just something about Robins voice that is so unique and different. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody’s voice come even close to his. And I don’t want to pick a favorite singer but I have to say Robins voice is my favorite. I think when you see him singing, he puts so much emotion and feeling into his words that you can almost feel it in your soul.
Maurice was the peacemaker between Barry and Robin when they had creative differences with the music.....so he was a very essential part of the group.
Always.❤️🇬🇧
I agree, Robin has the most beautiful voice..he was underrated because he got lost in the harmonies, you only truly recognize that spectacular voice when he sings alone. I agree with everything you said, quite rightly.
By the way Chad, the children of the Bee Gees have created what they call "Gibb Collective." The children sing their fathers' songs. Good stuff!
There’s also the Cousins Gibb 😊
Robin's voice is mesmerizing. He had that natural vibrato and could also sing falsetto like his brothers. Robin could sing in vibrato and falsetto simultaneously, and that is rare.
Robin had a distinct voice. He could match barrys falsetto. He could do anything with his voice
I do not think any of them would have done their best without each other !
Robin has a few solo albums some of which made the top 40. I think he had one bomb that didn't go anyway but songs like Juliet are very much the sound that Robin gave to the Bee Gees.
Sibling rivalry at its best!
Happy 77th Birthday to Mr. Barry Gibb! Love the Bee Gees so much 💕 ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ 💜 💙 🧡❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
I think Robin is actually appreciated more now than in their early days. Thanks to CZcams and videos people are realising the part Robin played in the success of the Bee Gees.
All three brothers TOGETHER created the Pure Magic that was The Bee Gees - however, Maurice added (instinctively...) that incredible harmony that's so Special...
Just like Robin (with his vibrato...) and Barry (doing his falsetto thing...) are absolutely incredible - without Maurice, they would've been incomplete...
And, we were Blessed, being able to enjoy them for close to 50 years...
💖💖💖
This has always been one of my favorite songs. I actually used to sing this as I rocked my babies to sleep. (Low)
It took all three of them, not only to sing, to play instruments, but to write. Robin also played the piano.
These three voices are just so sublime....these greatest ever
Robin's voice sounds like a million bucks. I agree Chad. Robin had it.
Maurice was a genius, he could write music, sing, and play almost anything. My favorite Bee Gee
(69 yr old guy)
Robin was appreciated so very much, he has a beautiful voice simply beautiful. Each brother has their place and do such a great job. They worked as a unit and that's how they all wanted it. They loved each other.
Incredible song writing and how it's not been covered is insane.
The brothers had a magic that was the perfect formula
I loved how Robin sang the first line of the chorus and Barry joined the second line and Maurice joined them in the third line. Great build on that.
Totally agree... Robin.. what an amazing voice.
The magic was there only when all 3 voices came together. Each one of them was a remarkable talent, but on their own it didn’t work the same. Barry is left on his own & I’m happy he is finding a way to preserve the music & do what he loves, but no one sings those songs like The Bee Gees.
Luv all 3...Mo is so gifted too 💖 ❤ 💗 💓
Yes, Robin was unique, but he was 1/3 of the whole sound. Each one brought their own gifts/talents.
You stated it so well, “Maurice, he’s always there.”
He is incredibly underrated, yet so very much present. WOW!
I don’t think you are wrong, but I would say, that the Bees Gees wouldn’t be the same without all 3. Barry was always centre stage, the camera was always on him, so Robin didn’t get his true recognition. I think that’s a lot of the conflict they experienced in the early days.
I imagine Robin is up there now, with a big smile on his.
I remember when this song was in the charts in the U.K. I was 7 in 1972. It was a good time to grow up, the music was great 🌈
MO is truly the man in the middle. Such a humble man. No complaints at all ot grumpy. He fitted himself in without any word. I love him more
They all looked so good here, robin should of had more solos, mo too
Well said on Maurice and Robin. However, the Bee Gees will always be three.
So very true Chad, none of the brothers provided more than the other two, all three were the band, and yes, also in appearance and such a very cute and humble demeanor, all three were The Bee Gees, none of them more than the other two, none of them less than the other two, just different each brother.
BEE Gees were my favorites..how can you not missed them ...may they all rest in peace I pray 🙏🙏🙏
Blessings Barry and family ❤️
You are SO RIGHT!!! Brothers Gibb - BGs = ALL THREE!!!
All 3 brothers had power house voices that they held the microphones about 6 inched from their mouths. That's how good they are.
I have always been a big fan of the Bee Gees, Robin voice was wonderful, Mo said Robin had a voice that touch the heart. Mo was the peace keeper and a amazing talent himself. After his death in 2003 the "Bee gees" pretty much retired. They did special performances and tried but they said after Mo died it was not the same, they loved him dearly. They continued with solo projects till Robin's death. It took Barry a long time to accept his brothers were gone. I loved Barry too and he has said that he would give up all the fame to have his brothers back. He is back on the stage and I'm thankful we still have him. I've listened to them everyday through this pandemic and enjoy every song they wrote and sang. They were a amazing group and can never be forgotten
Thank you, Chad, for recognizing the wonderful contributions of both Robin and Maurice and, yes, you're correct when you said that both of the twins were truly not given the respect that they deserved. I also agree that it took all three wonderful men to make the Bee Gees the best group ever. I'm still asking for you to react to "I Can't See Nobody" from the 1974 Melbourne concert. You won't be disappointed with Robin's performance. I guarantee it!
I think that Robin didn't get the attention to his voice that he should have. In the final days before MO passed away it was he and Robin that got back together and started working together. Barry came back to them and they started to work together again. Some of their most beautiful music came then. In an interview with Barry after the death of Robin he said he felt bad because he had hurtful words with each of his brothers including Andy before they passed. If you look of the body of work that Robin had right up until his death it was amazing. Robin's voice lended the soul to the music. He said he always sang from his heart. He was amazing in his own right.
I love Robin. His voice is strong and haunting.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Robin had that natural vibrato, and falcetto. He had a pretty nice solo career when the brothers weren't speaking for awhile His son R.J. sounds a lot like his dad.
When it came to the Bee Gees the three are one.
If you watch their concerts videos you'll notice how the audience reacts and go crazy when Robin steps out on a song.
Early Bee Gees Robin was more the lead and later Barry took over and never let it go although they all shared parts. Really the three were needed to make the Bee Gees, when Mo died the Bee Gees were hobbled, they still had the two power house voices but as you said they were incomplete without all three. RIP: Andy Mo and Robin
"I Can't See Nobody" is a MUST listen to further appreciate the contribution of Robin Gibb's unique vocal talent. The 1974 Melbourne, Australia concert version is the BEST. Robin sings lead, some of the notes are "sharps and flats" and he does this effortlessly and beautifully. I've never heard another artist's cover version of "I Can't See Nobody" done as well as the original recording with Robin Gibb.
I agree l must have heard that song a thousand times with the crescendo at the end it still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
I smile when I hear that song just beautiful 😍
Oh yeah ! he sings the pain
Hey chad. Check out Alone. The one that has the three of them in a recording studio. It is fun. It takes you on a journey of their life.
Gorgeous vocals... luv our BGSXXXXXXX
When Robin comes in on vocals I get chills. I can't tell anyone which song is my favorite because they all are. Robin's voice came from deep inside and hits you right in the heart. Maurice had as much talent as they did and he brought humor.
Robins voice is the most UNIQUE of all of them. His voice has a haunting quiver to it that makes it sound almost heartbroken??? Of course Barry obviously has incredible range and is beyond beautiful......but Robin had wayyy more vocal talent that many may not have picked up on.
To be honest when I was younger I used to think Robin's voice was annoying like he had cotton balls in his mouth. Now as an adult I couldn't agree more with you, I completely appreciate how beautiful and special his voice was.
Their harmonies are the best ever. No one even comes close
Aren't they great? I have always wished that Robin and Maurice had gotten more solo's.
They agreed as a group who would do what for each song. When Maurice was going through his alcoholism, he was not good for much of anything.
Essentialy you said none of them can be replaced and that's absolutely true. There is not one that is insignificant.
Another song to appriciate with Robin on lead is Country Lanes from 1975 (My favorite), Lamplight from 1969 or I Can't See Nobody from 1967.
Agree to all three . Brilliant songs
Gorgeous song
YES
Robin was known for his great vibrato...
Heard in one of their interviews that this song was created by combining two songs - Robin and Barry each had an idea and this was the result
When this Song first came out, my big brother had bought the Single, and I was hooked to it, sung to it all day. I was only 10 yrs old then. BRILLIANT!
Robin always sings from his soul. Dam!
The fact that they're just insanely talented songwriters with 1 hundred songs that they wrote for themselves as well as other artists being in the top 10 and their diversity is why their music has lasted over 7 decades. Their brother Andy Gibb was an amazing singer songwriter as well. He died too soon in 1988 at the age of 30. Mo died in 2003 and Robin in 2012. They are by far the most talented musical family in the history of music. RIP Andy, Mo and Robin.
I think I have read somewhere that they even wrote 1.000 songs. Correct me if I am wrong.
@@bonitavanderwal2712 Yes they have! I read not too long ago that Barry sold their music catalog for $150 million.
@@dortheyc5276 Thanks, didn't know Barry sold their catalog.
I definitely agree with you about Robin, his voice just brought a magic to their songs.
The Beegees for me the best slingers.. love them..❤❤❤
A real thrill, watching new generations appreciate these brothers. Their music still brings me joy, and I've been listening to them for over forty years.
Me too, since I was about 14 yrs old in 1966,which makes it over 50 yrs.Love them.
Haunting is the word
Listen to wildflower and man in the middle. Good songs sung by Maurice.
Maurice chose the songs he wanted to sing. He did not want to be a lead singer. He loved what he was doing with the instrumental arrangements and creating different sounds. After he became a full fledged alcoholic Mautice could no longer fulfill his role in the group. He could no longer play the bass. He managed to beat the alcoholism by going into recovery after he threatened his family with a gun one evening. Yvonne and the kids fled their home, and Barry and Linda took them in. He went into AA residential treatment immediately and lived away from home until he completed the program. Maurice remained a member of AA the rest of his life, and assisted in the treatment of other members. He and Yvonne renewed their wedding vows after Maurice successfully completed treatment All the brothers were made of strong character. That is one of the reasons I loved them! When people say negative things about one of them, it hurts all 3 of them. They have been through so much as musical artists and in their personal lives. The Bee Gees were constantly fighting off criticism and making come backs. They were not perfect.. Yes there was resentment between them at times. The Gibb Family suffered immense personal tragedy with the loss of Andy. They managed to overcome their personal demons. They were brothers first and foremost!
@@laurieshreffler5028 ...We all know that. What’s your point? It’s not okay to recommend songs Maurice sang.
Totally agree ❣️
Robin was also able to play guitar ( I believe I also saw him with a Keytar) and he played piano on an early 'Words' rendition when Mo played guitar and Barry simply sang to microphone. He did say once that he preferred to keep the instruments for song writing and used them only in the studio. His instrument was his voice.
