#VideoReacion #postmodernjukebox #MorganJames - Zábava
In English the word you were searching for is enchanted. She has a very deep song book. Post Modern Juke Box is a ensemble group whose membership is slightly fluid (based on the song) and they work with a large number of very talented singers. Morgan has done a number of songs with them, Haley Reinhart has also done some excellent performances with them and one with Morgan and PMJ (All about that Bass) and another with just Morgan (Dear Prudence). They can fill your ears with great music for years.
Not forgetting Morgans "Maps" and Haley latest "Don't Speak" This is a new rabbit hole for you better start a channel just for PMJ reactions.
She is one of the best singers in the world. Period.
One of the finest voices on Earth..one of the finest collection of musicians on Earth...and I'm a Prog/Metalhead
eat your heart out, Steven Tyler......Morgan and PMJ now own this tune.....the cello player is FIRE! by the way, girl can make an entrance....
U heard the great Morgan James, now it’s time to witness the great Haley Reinhart w/postmodern jukebox cover of creep. Haley is pure magic and a vocal coaches wet dream.Haley will take u to school on how to use vocal expressions
Morgan James is living testimony to how bankrupt music industry is, that talent (& looks, too) aren't enough alone. Julliard trained classical voice. Check out her Aretha Franklin covers, or "Maps".
I wouldn't say that Morgan is testimony to how bankrupt the music industry is simply because she loves Musical Theatre more than being a recording artist. Haley Reinhart would be testimony because they had a chance of signing her to a big label but didn't take it. Eva Cassidy would also more than qualify as testimony.
Amen to that. She should be on the radio everywhere. Instead she's covering tunes by some legendary vocalists and knocking them all out of the park. If only those executives could see that what they've done is turn music into a 2-dimensional, commodified farce.
Yep
Although the industry is more than corrupt Morgan did started at a major label (Epic) but never felt quite comfortable with it. Eventually she started her own label and does what she wants.
@@danielolson5378 Thanks for the info. Morgan is great!
I agree that you should do “Creep” by PMJ featuring Haley Reinhart, and after that so you can live el both Morgan and Haley even more, watch “Dear Prudence” with both of them and Morgan’s husband on the acoustic guitar. 🥰
I heard Morgan James first then that got me to Haley... OMFG idk how they both ended up working with PMJ but 2 of the finest vocalists of this generation.
Morgan has one the best voices there is today trained opera singer gradutated from Juilliard School in New York. When she had grauduated she realized that her heart was more Aretha Franklin rather than Maria Callas.
I was stunned to when i stumbled across PMJ and Morgan James on CZcams.
PMJ, featuring Morgan James, Haley Reinhart and others...excellence! And your reaction...perfect!
This is the first cover of this Aerosmith song that I have ever not cringed while listening. I saw that someone else suggested Postmodern Jukebox and Haley Rinehart. My favorite with Postmodern Jukebox and Haley is their cover of Creep.
Morgan James is brilliant - a trained classical singer who moved into r&b, pop, musical theatre. A superb interpreter of songs. You can't go wrong with anything she does. One I really recommend is her version of Take me to Church, accompanied by Scott Bradley (the pianist that arranges all the Post Modern Jukebox songs). czcams.com/video/9C0xGB73Uuc/video.html
One of the very best
Postmodern Jukebox takes songs and does them through a different musical perspective. Neat group.
6 years later I also hear and see of Morgan James for the first time. Where have I been? 😂
Morgan James is a Juilliard trained and qualified singer who decided that opera was not for her.
Having done this one the natural follow up is another Postmodern Jukebox interpretation, this time covering a Radiohead classic with Haley Reinhart on vocals ...
Creep - Vintage Postmodern Jukebox Radiohead Cover ft. Haley Reinhart : czcams.com/video/m3lF2qEA2cw/video.html
I agree with all of your recommendations'. Another Haley Reinhart performance I would suggest is "Lay it down" (very minimalist and good) and the Morgan James cover of "Barbie Girl" (It's a hoot).
@@randallshuck2976 One step at a time ...
@@TheVirtualWatcher Yeah I know that her venture into new artists can easily turn into trying to drink out of a fire hose. Lots of them out there and many are excellent.
This pumps so much energy in my veins, it is like a nuclear explossion turned into emotions.
Stunning performance! Awe inspiring!
Yet another reactor rendered speechless.
Hi there.. so funny.. I just watched your reaction to Hayley Reinhardt and Post Modern Jukebox and suggested Morgan James to you lol.. Morgan James is truly amazing. PMJ is amazing too.. So powerful.. you are correct! I think you will really enjoy Dear Prudence.. and sorry I dont have Instagram.. but i do have You Tube lol.. Love you! Thanks for all you do!
Postmodern Jukebox is the band. They are known for taking pop songs and putting a jazz/blues/older styles to them. Morgan James is a classical-trained singer (Juliard, if I'm not mistaken) who does fantastic covers of pop songs also. Other fantastic mixes from Postmodern Jukebox are "All About That Bass," featuring Morgan James, Haley Reinhart, and Ariana Savalas, "Creep," (Radiohead cover) feat. Haley Reinhart, and "Take Me To Church," (Hozier cover), also feat. Morgan James.
ohh yes Take me to church is absolutely fantastic
Fantastic vocals. Very different from the original, or any other version I have heard. She made it her own. You were enchanted.
She probably has a couple hundred videos on YT - watch her "Dear Prudence", one of my favorite Beatles songs, with Haley Reinhart and Morgan's husband playing guitar. She is the best singer I know including Streisand and Celine Dion and Whitney Houston.
Postmodern Jukebox takes "modern" songs and turn them vintage. For example "Purple Rain" by Prince, is transformed into a bluesbalad by one of the famous female blues singers of NOLA.
Mrs. James is a fully trained Julliard student. She finished classical training and decided not to sing opera. Stay safe and sound. GG.
nice reaction samantha. if this is your first postmodern jukebox (aka pmj) then you have a lot of enjoyment ahead of you. pmj is a rotating collection of of musicians and vocalists created by scott bradley (the pianist) that re-image current songs vintage (1920s to the 1960s) in the music, arrangements and performance that literally take you back in time. this cover by morgan james is stunning and really shows off her julliard background. the arrangement (especially the strings) is also superb. as good as this is though it does not quite match "creep" by pmj and haley reinhart. that is a masterpiece and maybe the best cover ever done.
Morgan James. Magnifica. Great reaction, please react to Morgan Take me to Church for PMJ. Grazie dall'Italia.
Perfect reaction.
6:16 That chill you experienced is called frisson (pronounced free-sawn), a French term meaning “aesthetic chills,” and it feels like waves of pleasure running all over your skin. Some researchers have even dubbed it a “skin orgasm.”
It happens a lot when listening to Morgan.
Okay kid! It's, POST "M O D E R N" JUKEBOX. You've some catching up to do per their 1st. generation of great works. Check out Morgan's, "TAKE ME TO CHURCH"!
And the the "girls" take on ALL ABOUT THAT BASS..., have fun...!
I pressed like before the video started, because Morgan's cover makes me cry.....
Welcome to the PMJ rabbit hole... we've been waiting for you!! 😊
Morgan is a GODDESS!!!..You should hear her sing Take me to Church...wowzer
I absolutely love watching folks discover Morgan James for the first time. The looks they give when such a tiny person has such a powerful voice is priceless! It truly makes my day.
Morgan James is classically trained in opera from Juilliard. After graduating, ended up on Broadway for a bit before leaving to start a solo career. Has a couple albums out. Some awesome original and cover songs on her channel. Her Aretha Franklin covers, Human, Come Together and Dear Prudence (with Haley Reinhardt) are an excellent place to start.
PMJ takes songs and changes their genre. Does an excellent job. Singers and musicians change each video. Morgan James has done 10 total with PMJ. Take Me to Church, Maps, It's a Man's World and All About That Bass with Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhardt, Morgan James, and Ariana Savalas are excellent places to start. Also look into anything by PMJ featuring Haley Reinhardt or Ariana Savalas as well. All three ladies are top notch singers.
"The looks they give when such a tiny person has such a powerful voice is priceless!"...and that's certainly the case with Angelina Jordan's early performances -- especially "I Put a Spell on You!" Many reactors think they're being pranked! 🙂
Loved your reaction, your facial told all Morga James is just an outstanding vocalist Morgan goes back a few years with great cuts and also has done a few more Postmodern Jukebox performances got to try Haley Reinhart and Morgan James' "all about the bass" with Postmodern Jukebox great cut.
Wow is right.
Anything by Morgan is worth a listen .... I'd suggest "Angle from Montgomery" for starters ..... enjoy
Morgan James is a great singer, but Post Modern Jukebox is the Brainchild of Scott Bradley. Been going on for years. He uses different singers, onetime so same band members sometimes new ones (always great instrumentalists and great arrangements). I think Scott does the arrangements. Ton’s of songs. If you have not check out “All About That Base”. Many other songs are great too.
As you can see, your viewers have not led you astray. Morgan is (imo) the most criminally under-appreciated vocalist alive today. Her voice is a sonic weapon of mass destruction. Weight, warmth, and soul for days, but with a resonant power that cuts through the mix so well. Morgan does 20th century American styles (Jazz, Blues, Soul, Gospel, etc) as well or better than anyone I've ever seen.
Recommendations... Take Me To Church (PMJ), I Knew You Were Waiting (Her own cover of the song by Athetha Franklin), Human (Her cover as well)
Great reaction.
The original is in 4/4, this is in 6/8, sooooo ...
It's a waltz. Yes, awesome!
You missed out on Morgan James? She's fricking fantastic in whatever gig she takes on. Just mind-blowingly good. Check her cover of "Maps".
Morgan James is a beast and is one of my favorite singers. Classical trained and can sing anything, and she has done many great covers. Angelina Jordan is my favorite, and Morgan is also a world class talent. Enjoy her other songs. Enjoy
Morgan James and Hailey Reinhart are the two most underrated singers in the world. Both startds with PMJ. You have so much to look forward to with PMJ and those two.
One word Entertaining
I enjoy your comments. I don't enjoy the artist being ghosted.
Morgan is a great artist, as is her husband, guitarist Doug Wamble. She chose the path she wanted, which was musical theater. She starred in several Broadway shows such as The Addams Family, Godspell, and Motown (as the incompatible Teena Marie) and other productions. I absolutely love her renditions of songs grooms the Great American Songbook. During the lockdown I learn a lot of new tunes thanks to her and Doug's projects.
if you get the chance, see them live. They tour all over the globe and no mater who is singing (it will be several people) it's always a good time.
I consider this the magnus opus of both Scott Bradlee and Morgan James. They do so many wonderfully technical things in this cover that it's amazing.
Perfectly executed reaction vid
Me encanto tu reaccion , Morga James, una grandiosa ,pocos artistas cantantes logran impresionar de esa manera, saludos desde Costa Rica, pura vida !!!
Yes dear, she is quite well known from PMJ covers and Broadway’s performances. Unfortunately not recognised enough….
PMJ has great collaborations with several fantastic singers. Morgan is fantastic herself.
🥰 I Love PMJ
First!
She is great yeah.
PMJ is the boss! They are pro all the way. A better bunch of musicians you won't ever find...
IT is truly a shame that so many CZcams"analyst and reactors" have failed to react to this amazing artist....better late than never....
I love how you are coming into this completely Fresh... Your face was simply priceless. You were ambushed! I first encountered her singing her way through the Beatle's White Album, accompanied by a visual artist. Do look it up. It's not for Reaction but simply for a thoroughly enjoyable hour of pure talent. I agree with so many of the previous comments. History will not be kind to the Music Industry. The best artists and the best material can be found in the Indie sphere. I love artists like Morgan James, or Dimash for that matter, who follow their hearts...
THIS one + the "Creep" cover that I am about to watch are definitely my two favs...cant wait to watch that one next haha
Try Post Modern Jukebox, “ all about that Bass“ European tour version with Haley Reinhart, Morgan James, and Ariana Savalas
...and Casey Abrams. He sets the tone for this great performance.
Aurora's churchyard KEXP song will blow ya socks off.
I was born in the early 60s so I knew about Aerosmith when I was growing up. That means I had heard of them but not that I paid attention to them. My tastes in music, even back then, were strange. My reaction when I first saw this video was much like yours. It actually made me go back and begin to appreciate the great bands of my youth. That said, Morgan James is still my favorite. You might want to try some of Haley Reinhart's covers with PMJ as well. Many think she is the best female vocalist alive. She may be but I still like Morgan. Either way, you are in for a treat.
PMJ isn't "a band" in the usual sense. Scott Bradlee is the genius behind PMJ. He arranges all of the music they perform, and is always on piano. Scott selects the other musicians and vocalist(s) to fit each arrangement. As a result, you'll see a different mixture of performers in all of PMJ's videos. Scott specializes in restyling modern songs in styles popular during the mid 20th century. One of my PMJ favorites ( czcams.com/video/u9jGGiqjwf4/video.html ) is Scott's reinvention of The Spice Girls' 1996 hit "Wannabe" in the style of the WWII-era close-harmony trio, The Andrews Sisters. Their #1 performance, however, was Haley Reinhart's Jessica Rabbit-style recreation of English alt rock band Radiohead's 1992 hit "Creep." ( czcams.com/video/m3lF2qEA2cw/video.html ) PLEASE make "Creep" your next PMJ reaction.
No one can really prepare for Morgan. World class singer :)
Post Modern Jukebox is the name of this 'band'. Try Creep by them
Saludos, #1 Charmed es un termino correcto para referirte a hechizada o encantada, #2 welcome to the rabbit hole of PMJ (Postmodern Jukebox), #3 I recommend Haley Reinhart singing Radio Head's Creep with PMJ is the most famous video of all for a good reason. Success!!
Embrujada?

Welcome to the Morgan James Fan Club! Now on to "All About that Bass" with Casey Abrams, Haley Reinhart, Morgan James & Araina Savalas (Telly's daughter) czcams.com/video/aLnZ1NQm2uk/video.html , then "Maps" czcams.com/video/8gO_lxThc1M/video.html and "I Really Don't Care" czcams.com/video/EddjOiFcp9Y/video.html with Morgan & PMJ. Morgan and Haley cover "Dear Prudence" czcams.com/video/wv_Xhzwvjyg/video.html is also a must! Then down the rabbit holes of Morgan and Haley's other tunes on-line. You will not be disappointed...
great reaction! you must try Lara Fabian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she's a french artist sign in english, italian and french, you'll be shocked!!! she's the queen of vocal technique here in europe, and so good to express emotions and tell a story when she sings! try her song "je suis malade" in french, live version it's a masterpiece !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scott Bradley brings various artists and records modern songs with older styles. Morgan’s version of Take Me to Church is another good listen. Anything with Sara Niemitez are wonderful.
I believe the english word you are looking for is "hypnotized." I'm pretty sure you said "wow" a few dozen times or so. You had that look on your face like you just got hit with a sack of bricks. LOL. And I know why you were looking at your arms. You're not the first CZcamsr to find that you had *goosebumps* all over yourself listening to that.
Not to sure if you know Aerosmith or if you have never heard of them, but Steven Tyler is the original singer of that song somewhere in the 1970's, I believe. Steven has a very distinct long vocal range in which he has used in this song. It is so rare to find someone that can not only match Steven Tyer's range, like Morgan James, but twist it to make it own version.
Musically speaking, Post Modern Jukebox is a band that has a high reputation of taking modern pop songs and make them into past genre's versions like 1920's, 1930's, 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, etc. They started small but then they got so big that they do press tours now. There are no *main* singers, as all of their singers are guest singers. With each new music video, you never know who will be featured next. I guess that's PMJ's version of keeping us audience on our toes.
In this specific video (as with many of their videos), the instrument selection were excellent choices. The pitch, tempo, spacing, timing, crescendos, decrescendos, and a hundred more technical music terms I forgot during my days learning the saxophone in high school were all concise and polished. Morgan Jame's voice was powerful and had more stamina than I thought anybody had, probably as even with most if not all Broadway or Opera singers.
For PMJ to pull this off, it must have taken a ton of time, experimentation, improvisation, rehearsals, luck, and talent.
Please review PMJ's Caroline Baran's version of "Nothing Else Matters."
the word is Hechizada.
Please try KZ Tandingan's China's "I Am Singer Contest" which JJay was one with the contestants. She defeated HHay at one turn in the Contest. Finally JJay won overall and KZ was eliminated nut who win against China & JJay wgo'd been world established artists. Fir me, though, KZ is my only one World best. Try her cover of ROLLING IN THE DEEP by Adele . KZ belongs with Morgan James & Halkey Reinheart and pray she got a break with Postmodern Jukebox.
She trained at Juilliard.
Hi Samantha, with all my respect for what you're doing, the Artist is the one we want to focus on so ... the full camera on yourself ? could you please...
How often would you love to hear a song for the first time a thousand times?
She doesn't hold anything back.
You have to hear her sing the song Maps it's great.
Try them doing all about the bass
Check out Morgan with Marc Broussard
If you have not heard them, I would like to suggest The Moody Blues songs "Your Wildest Dreams" and it's sequel song "I Know You're Out There Somewhere." They are about lost first love.
Haley Reinhart “creep” cover. 106 mill views, 58 wks top of billboards jazz chart and critically acclaimed.
The following video is a sample of Morgan's vocal range.

Samantha, I am pleased that you have discovered Morgan James. She is one of the greatest talents ever to be ignored by the music industry. She has done many works, including a cover of the entire Beatles' White Album (at an hour and 20 minutes probably too long for a reaction). I'm suggesting her cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" czcams.com/video/ErNp0qYcMNM/video.html and her collaboration with Post Modern Jukebox on "All About That Bass" (Morgan is the one leaning on the piano). czcams.com/video/aLnZ1NQm2uk/video.html I love your reactions because they are so authentic.
She actually choose to move away from the industry. Had to do with how they treated her. But she sings most commercial singers out of the water...
She's amazing
Maps
Now that you’ve heard Morgan, it’s time to hear Haley Reinhart with PMJ “Creep”. Haley and Morgan do songs together “Dear Prudence” and “All About That Bass”
So, since you loved this, by all means let her take you to church.
Postmodern Jukebox is a very big subject, and well worth looking into.
If you like different styles or interpretations, try Eva Cassidy "Somewhere over the Rainbow". czcams.com/video/2rd8VktT8xY/video.html&ab_channel=EvaCassidy
Then check out her history.... the song becomes even more poignant.
FYI, "postmodern" is just pronounced the way it looks. First "post" then "modern". Like the normal words.
Post Modem ?
Just wait until you get into post modern jukebox’s Hailey Reinheart.. she’ll blow your damn socks off!!
Need to watch PMJ with Haley Reinhardt cover of CREEP!!!!!
Look for the Post Modern Jukebox with Morgan James of Hailey Rinehart with Puddles Pitty Party. That is something to experience.
You really need to react to Halley Reinhardt Post Modern Jukebox “creep”!
I could have watched on mute and I would have known how this performance affected you.
