- Nationals Senator Matt Canavan has called for Australia to get out of the “whole ridiculous façade” of emissions reduction.
Opposition leader Peter Dutton says he will not quit the Paris Accord or give up on net zero.
It is understood Mr Dutton's recent dismissal of the 2030 climate target was due to the goal being unachievable.
“I think we should get out of this whole ridiculous façade,” Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia.
“It is a façade because no other country in the world is really taking this seriously except Australia.
“It is costing Australian families a fortune because, ever since we signed up to net zero emissions and this 2030 target, prices have gone through the roof.”
I’m with Matt on this all the way.
Can we have more politicians like this please?
No, you can't because the party politics on both sides won't allow it. Nice dream though.
ONE NATION is full of them .
@@user-zh5ri2fx8tStuff the uniparty vote One Nation.
Yeah - everyone can't wait for those $30,000 annual insurance premiums coming to you soon if you live near a river, coast, valley, or away from a the coast or rivers where it's drought prone with a fire risk. Hundreds of thousands of Australian homes are expected to have premiums that high by the end of the decade (some places are already that high) .
@davidwall8954 Water management systems, will solve most problems, land management, technology not fear solves problems
Matt is right on the money with this Albo and Bowen better wake up or there gone ! people have had enough of this rubbish i don't know anyone who agrees with the 2030 net zero dream.
I hope you are right but don't underestimate the number of brainwashed or braindead voters that are out there who still believe in the net zero and anti-coal agendas. Australia happens to be the leader in the clown show when it comes to power generation.
"Albo and Bowen better wake up"! Really! You best wake up and realise that this is absolutely intended, and designed to completely impoverish us. They can then install their totalitarian communist nirvana, where "you will own nothing and be happy (being totally destitute and totally dependent on a failing state)!!
Hear Hear 👏 finally someone with some common sense 👍
Brilliant, Matt
Thanks Matt. We do need more politicians like you.
Like your flushed orange turd boyfriend 😂😂.
And Matt Canavan is a credible orator - he is similar to Josh Frydenberg. He knows his facts and eloquently talks to them without stumbling or making things up. A great politician who hopefully will be around for a long time.
Yes you’re right Matt is awesome 🇦🇺
He has an economics degree!
You are so right, he is brilliant. !!
Matt Canavan is one of a small handful in the Coalition worth voting for. Includes Jacinta Price, James Paterson, Andrew Hastie, Alex Antic, James McGrath... Maybe a few more but not many.
Lets hope they continue to increase in number.
@@edmurks236the grass roots depends on us. Otherwise we leave the door open for the socialist shills.
@@edmurks236I hope so, too.
agree they should start their own party was senator Rennick in there he's fought for us so much over the last 4 years ..
Gerard Rennick, but then the LNP booted him for being outspoken….i feel they will do the same for Alex Antic when his term ends in a couple of years, Matt Canavan will also probably be gone at the first opportunity that the party gets, and a few others that have been outspoken about things and voted against several bills that should never have been put in place
Well said Matt, thank you.
At last a politician with the balls to put Australia first and pull it out from under this nonsensical U.N. tyranny!
UN is a cartel, and we are its prey, prove me wrong.
Yo go Matt Canavan!! Say NO TO NET ZERO!! Australia before any thing
Jees, it's great to listen to the facts and the common sense from this bloke.
Speak very clearly and not to say looking to the side trying to figure out what next. A good example of a person
Agreed, logic isn't our government's strong point.
Thanks Matt for telling the truth
Well said Matt Canavan
COP THIS AUSTRALIA: ENJOY THE RIDE.
CO2 is not a constituent of climatology; it is NOT USED in climatology.
About 96.5% of atmospheric CO2 is natural; 405 ppm natural, and 15ppm non-natural.
Of the 15 ppm, human contribution is likely to be about half; let's say 8.
Of the 8 ppm, Australia's contribution is about 0.1 ppm; put another way, that's.......
ONE PART IN 10 MILLION, REPEAT, ONE PART IN 10 MILLION.
HELLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Could someone please explain why 1 part in 10 million is such a problem, that Aussie taxpayers need to shell out 10's, if not 100's billions, of $ for this mindless net-zero/CC nonsense?
Net zero = net zero benefits for the average Australian.
Labor wants to talk about net zero ,to deflect away from the incompetent Giles & ONiel , & the cost of living . Out of site out of mind , but it's still in front of Australians ,we are not idiots like Labor government think we are .
Notvto mention mr wongs Australian subsidised hamas murdering goons
Yes. Spot on as usual from Matt Canavan.
Plenty of "emissions" from braindead nasho dropkick, irrelevant, whining, mining industry connected, can in a van.
Worst standard of living since 2011 who was pm then? An easy one, labor with Gillard
Tony Abbott signed up to the Paris Agreement and the coalition are still committed to net zero 👍
And the Global Financial Crisis
@@rorywhelan516so Abbott started this, I liked that he got back our AAA rating Gillard lost and cost us millions each day & that he also stopped the boats and flooding immigration & boats that Gillard & Labor seem to love wrecking the country, culture, security, stability, economy & inflation with.
Hear hear the idiosy of this government is a seriously grave situation and it must be stopped immediately woke labour woke Greens must go
Just saying it like it is good job Matt as usual.
Why is albo so worried about what the World thinks of us? The bastards are putting us through the ringer for their self esteem?
Get out of Paris🎉🎉🎉🎉
One again, quite rational.
It is simple : we need Gov with brains, flexibility, ability to assess reality
Don't forget chalmers loves paul keating and we had 18% interest rates. Is this where chalmers, bowen, albosleezy trying to do!!!!
I would like to know if the coalition is going to scrap the ridiculous ute tax that labor has imposed.
And the earth just smiles...It thinks"whats this climate nonsense?..Ive been around a looooooong time. Im OK. This little species will be gone one day.. Its OK!!"
Google George Carlin "saving the planet" (1970s stuff)
Dead right here mate this nonsense has nothing to give if there worried about something worry about china
We can spend 380 billion over 30 years for nuclear submarines, but the powers to be struggle with spending 380 billion over 100 years for nuclear power stations.
Let’s hope Trump gets elected
Finally..... Common sense!!!!
You are a wonderful politician Matt!
Hooray for commen sense.
Hooray for common sense !!!
Why dont we ask the politicians why we give australian gas away for free
Yes, we could power Australia cleanly and cheaply (for free) with all the gas we give away & still have a bottle each for a weekend BBQ.
Tuvalu is increasing in size per satellite surveys, and 80% of Pacific islands are stable or growing. It's called accretion. Yet we pay them vast sums as compensation for our imaginary guilt. I prefer governments capable of actually thinking.
If standing up against tyranny and calling out a nonsense, U.N. manufactured, non-existent crisis makes a country an international pariah, then we should be very proud to do so.
Someone needs to be the one to tell the Emperor he's wearing no clothes!
Well said Matt. You are just stating the facts and not emotion. As if anyone else in the world would follow Albo the Weak.
Thank you Matt Canavan. Thank God you are in our Government 🇦🇺Keep speaking for us who know what’s obvious.
Need more smart people like Matt in our government
don’t forget the Africans are increasing their coal exports….
Well said...there needs to be balance of energy generating infrastructure..
That reporter is probably the dumbest I’ve seen on Sky - he gets a question answered, and keeps asking the same question - he should be on the ABC.
Thank Christ a politician with common sense, some one get a Polaroid quick !
One Nation has a few with uncommon sense.
Its not climate wars, it's common-sense.
If people want to put solar on their houses now problem but what labor is doing is wasting our money once trump gets in things will be better for the west
They are introducing a 1.2c tax on solar exports
Thanks Matt for telling the truth it’s laughable . I think we have to build our military put money in to that 🇦🇺
We need energy first, Labor has just about fucked our electrical grid & supply with all their green, woke stupidity, they are already forecasting to expect rolling blackouts throughout SA, NSW & VIC thanks to Blackout Bowens incompetence, imagine plugging in his EV utopia when we can’t even muster enough energy to power a light bulb.
What is WRONG With this Reporter?? He doesn't understand BASIC LOGIC
Measured calm sensible argument. Something you’ll never see from the left….
We need sovereignty.
We need to remove ourselves from the influence of the Anglo-American system and assert real sovereignty. Establish a public people’s bank. All essential services should be protected under public ownership.
Such unintelligent questions. It Is appalling what must qualify a person to be a journalist?
Its not about Victory its ABOUT PRICE OF LIVING.
As our energy dependent heavy industry crashes and burns our standard of living dissolves with it. Unemployment and basics shortagesvwill be our next obvious issues
There is no "World Stage" The movie's over and there's no more fairy floss.
Albanazi just brought two planes emissions my arse
Solar on every roof with 3 days battery storage will fix 90% of domestic power requriements. That will take pressure off grid scale enery provision. The issue causing inflation and high interest rates is over immigration.
💯✔️MATT 🎉✊ keep it up
Here's a man who could be PM!!
Well, you all have the same problem that the US has with this UN climate agenda. Glad you have someone to stand up to them. I agree with those who say you need more politicians like this.
Let the private sector eat the cost of research and development.
Stop forcing it on taxpayers, if you make the corporations pay for their own research and development, the customers can pick and choose which ones do it best and provide the best product.
That’s the way it’s always worked with technology, alternative energy is no different.
All the models tell you that it’s not sustainable unless everyone is forced to do it. But they’re not allowed to tell you that.
Cheap energy is a must if we want a decent standard of living. Wind and solar are cheap, but cheap quality, not cost.
I think it’s expensive & don’t believe they are cheap at all, when the real numbers are done and you take out all the BS & subsidies granted to renewables along with general maintenance & extra upgrades to 28,000 kms of grid structure , you will find nuclear will end up miles cheaper in the long run with lots of other benefits that will last for 80-100 years of reliable base load energy.
This is a "how to" destroy the middle class...to meet Klaus Schwabs 2030 target where you'll own nothing.
Good Matt!
Keep going mate!
Albowen gone for good.
I don't remember main stream Australia having a referendum on weather we wanted to join the paris agreement or not the we know better brigade making decisions for us again
ONE HUNDRED GIGAWATS!!!??
Who cares what other countries think..look after Aust first..well said Matt
1 kg of coal = 6 hours running a washing machine. Available 24/7
1 kg of oil. = 9 hours running a washing machine . Available 24/7
1 kg of wind and solar equivalent = less than 1 hour running a washing machine. Available only when the sun is shinning and the wind is blowing. Nominally 30% of the time.
1 kg of uranium = 2000 years running a washing machine. Available 24/7. WARNING - The washing machine may not last 2000 years.
I wonder which power source is more efficient.
Net Zero emissions means net zero ability to heat your home and loved ones during winter
Can someone tell me that the world will catch fire, freeze or flood when and if we dont or even meet net zero. Nobody can.
The National's Left us with a Huge Burner Economy.
This has made the Task of Switching to SOLAR, WIND, TIDAL, GEO-THERMAL ENERY SYSTEMS Harder than it Should be.
But We Must Still Switch to Solar, Wind, Especially in Central QLD.
We Must Build Australia's First Genuine Large Scale Solar Power Station, Minimum 2500 Square Kilometres on Mined Out Land in Central QLD. The Grid is Already there.
GO SOLAR CQ
this guy talks sense, more like him talking out about this, to stop this stupid rubbish about the climate
What a joke from the guy who gets makeup artists to put pretend coal dust on his face for the cameras 🤣
Climate deniers paradise with Canavan minister for his brothers coal mine in the pocket of the Fossil fuel industry. He's the buisness as usual expert regardless of the consequences for everyone's children including his own welcome to the world where money, don't talk it screams 🤑🤑
After decades of false predictions from the Climate Clergy why would anybody believe a word they say?.
Ah, Matt Canavan, a prime example of the Reverse Flynn effect.
Matt wants his family to sell more coal
A lot of Australians want sell and use more coal
@@asnail6550 the last election proved that Australians want less coal used. That's why the LNP lost.
So do I.
A lot of Australians want to USE more coal/ gas in Australia.
Only 32% voted for this ,,so we only need 33% with common sense.
Of course Matt KING Coal thinks CC is CRAP Science... 😂😂😂
WELL DONE 🤡
We need to get back to coal for energy production.
China builds them, why don’t us?
It is in 100 years nothing CC alarmismt has said has come true 😂😂😂
When you fall for a scam ffs you commit 100 percent 🤓🤣
In the last 60 years, how many of these climate doomsday predictions have come true ?
Oh yeah, NONE
Your still using electricity produced by coal
Hypocrite
Electricity prices are up right now because of the the cost of coal and gas not because of renewables
Where did you learn that rubbish.
🐃💩
@@Beachlife4567 any source that has nothing to do with the coal and gas companies themselves
Any source that doesn’t have a political agenda
The energy market operator come out and said renewables are putting downward pressure on the wholesale price, god help our energy system if they’re not a reliable source of information
An energy system that is predominantly built by the coalition since they have been in power for 20 of the last 28 years
What rubbish, prices have gone thu roof in last few yrs cause of the renewables mainly cause gov propping up this industry ,wake up
There truly is no helping some people, I feel for you.
👍You go Senator Canavan!🥳🥳🥳🥇🏆🥳🥳🥳
Everyone I know has the deepest of respect for you Matt. We need truth and the end to government sticking its nose into all freedoms.. Thank you Matt. 🎉🎉🎉
What about the 56% of Australia gas that is royalty free instead of billions in royalties we should be getting.
Carbon TAX carbon TAX carbon TAX
That is exactly what NZ IS DOING..yeehaaa..drill baby drill..dig baby dig. 😎😎
