Thank you. An outdoor concert can not get any better, then Montserrat Caballe and, pal, Marilyn Horne. A genuine warmth the two gave their audience fans from their power diva voices. A natural fun and charming humor from relaxed Caballe always captivated a surprise by the her legendary control of demanding arias. Horne began the mezzo of all time. I needed to see them. How the years have clipped away to miss such a golden time. Miss them both and Maestro Adler. Brava Montserrat and Marilyn...♥️

I was there. Thank you so much for posting this. My friends and I shared a blanket and food we’d brought; arriving hours early to get a spot near the stage. You can't hear it on the sound the broadcast picked up, but after floating several of her famous exquisite pianissimi in “Pace, pace, mio Dio," anxiety flashed through the crowd as Caballé approached the aria’s dramatic end; for overhead we could hear the sound of a small plane getting closer and closer, louder and louder and louder. But as she hit the final note SHE drowned out the plane-“Maladizione” (“A curse be upon them”)! KQED's camera crew didn't capture the rapture of their spontaneous movement with the balloons during their encore of “Barcarolle"; too close to show both of them swaying back and forth with the balloons. But the faces of the audience suggest how magical it was as the two hours of heaven that they transported us to came to an end.

All I can say is WOW, I love my arbitrary visits to San Francisco, the beautiful I encountered there, the relaxing garden sensation of Golden Gate Park and the splendor of watching an opera in that magnificent Opera House, but I have never experienced the combination of absolute beauty combined.❤🎉

This was my first Opera in the Park & it was pure magic to see and gear these two great artists.

I find it interesting that Caballe sang the Capuletti aria, as she has in the past sung the aria from Adelson e Salvini, same melody, but in a lower key, because the lead in the opera was a mezzo. This is a wonderful treat

Absolutely sublime. Two timeless greats singing some of the most demanding arias and duets in their vocal categories. **beso de chef** The sound is marvelous, thanks to your ministrations--outdoor venues are notoriously sketchy for audio quality. For a second I feared the jumbo jet was going to squash Caballe's final Maladizione in Pace. Mil gracias @nir0. Paz. Liked, playlisted.
