So many gems in this program. I remember it well, which means I’m getting old myself. Many great moments, but the one I remember best is 1:43:40, where Sills - from one great Violetta to another - is momentarily speechless after Scotto’s rendition.

I believe Ravel's "Asie" is from his Shéhérazade song cycle originally for soprano and orchestra. I think commendation is in order for Levine's fabulous playing of the piano arrangement. As for Ms. Troyanos, she was a special talent, a serious artist, who possessed an amazing voice.
