I'm someone who sacrificed my deam of becoming a musician, just to make my parents happy. I'm studying Mathematics and I'll be an engineer one day. But when I heard this song, I couldn't stop my tears. I wanted to be a musician. Music is in me. I'm extremely philharmonic. But now I don't have a choice. I lost my dream. I lost my happiness. Dear people who are living a life, please make sure to be happy. Don't sacrifice your happiness over others. Make sure to make yourself happy before everything. Give yourself what you want. I just almost finish a law school, all my life there are only few things that make me happy which is singing and dancing but i know my family won’t approve or not being fully supportive if i ever take this path seriously. I work in a job that has nothing to do with music at all now that I saved a certain amount of money which is not a lot, I just paid for a dance class and decide to practice singing everyday like I used to do. It’s never too late, hope you get to live the life you want, cheers!
I wish you didn't have to go through that. I know it might seem like a cop-out, but try to be strong. Don't EVER fully let go of that dream. Keep it with you, always. Do what you can to nurture it. And if your family takes offense, there's nothing wrong with a little distance while you're figuring yourself out. At the end of the day, you need to be happy without yourself. The people that insist on NO compromise, sadly, are not healthy people in your life. It's YOUR life. Not their's. I wish you luck, and hope to hear some of your music sometime. Blessed be♡
