Update, apparently intel drivers just got the holy grail of driver updates and are seeing significant boosts in game performance, especially in dx9 games (some games got a 70-80% boost)

Unfortunately something from my HW doesn't want to play well with that enabled. But I have no issues running a 3060. I assume it could be the BIOS, I'll wait for a new firmware.
Just a heads up to anyone looking at either of these cards nowadays, driver updates have helped the arc card quite a bit since this came out. Still not worth $450 imo but its not as bad as it used to be

If I were building a new pc right now I'd probably grab a 6600 while I wait for prices to drop back to a reasonable level for the "70" series cards. The arc card at $470 is a horrible value compared to what else is on the market
Obviously the Intel Arc is going to be slower, because the Intel drivers aren't the best in terms of performance, but the Intel Arc does pretty well considering it's a new GPU from a manufacturer that hasn't made dedicated GPUs in a long time, if ever.
Are u using resize bar on bios?.. recommended in warfare 2, Nvidia/ ultra quality.. then u will get 130 fps steady in every scenario even while firing. Im using the bifrost edition and its really amazing, playing with 130/120fps on warzone 2, 1440p maxed settings and ray tracing on
remember that the intel arc have broken drivers for no resons, they tell that over the time they Will fix it. On the nvidia side the rtx card have very good drivers and it's optimized in the games

Synthetic performance wise and encoding, the Intel arc is a beast, but they need to fix the drivers for gaming performance and hopefully we will have a third competitor in the gpu market

I love Intel I’ve always ran their CPUs with great luck but as far as this new graphics card goes they have a LOT of catching up to do before I will even begin to think about buying one.
Intel's main focus was more rendering than game performance, the best choice right now is both, letting the intel arc deal with highseting graphics while the 3060 takes care of smooth performance
@@zxSwifty if both are plugged into the mb and have enough power they contribute to the rendering together instead of having 1 do all the work, even if the primary GPU is what runs the monitor, Linus made a video explaining this aswell
Yeah for real. It looks like the base performance on furmark exceeds, but the drivers are a issue but it's a first gen and intel is a major hitter for processors. I think there's been rumored that although AMD and Nvidia are pretty much the two big dogs, there might be almost 50-60% profit for nvidia while their licensed card makers only make 5-10%. A third party who could potentially undercut or take a bite out could be very interesting. But driver issues have always been major and amd has already noticed a nvidia/ai stranglehold due to ai research being expensive and cuda almost hard locking. I don't think it'd be wise for a third party card to diversify into such a potentially expensive field, but i do know i'll likely be locked into nvidia for ai/workstation use. But Nvidia's stinginess with 8 gb vram on a modern 400$ chip when gaming and ai uses can get into 16gb/+ makes a partner willing to put more vram on always welcome.
Did you enable resizable BAR in the bios configuration? It might use the full potential of the GPU with that setting enabled if you have an Intel processor as well
I'm usually not really a team blue guy, but I find the new Intel GPUs really exciting especially considering what they try to do with pricing, because that will eventually have some effect on the market once they start doing well 😊
For now because of the broken drivers in Intel , it is a little hard for them in gaming for they are the King in Encoding and by far.... none of them were able to beat them in it so there's big hope for them
Bro It's the intel's drivers issue and I think that it will be fixed in the future. Intel is a beginner in gpus and it challenges the huge companies (AMD & NVIDIA) It's a good start with budget GPUs, but give it more time and It will be a stronge competitor in (budget gpus)
I have had that exact 3060 in my build for over a year, I play at 1080p and it is a really solid card. Iirc I got mine on sale for about 430 Canadian dollars
The intel drivers are broken for now but they will improve through time and the performance too.
Also I doubt he has Intel's super sampling on or the equivalent to dlss. Don't quote me on the name but I'm pretty sure I just seen something about it

Try turning on re-bar and changing dx, not that you will have the rtx 3060 level performance but it will get better
If the A770 is running DX12 it should easily get 3060 performance if not better

i think intel needs to keep improving on their drivers for this to be fair, for now the best option i believe would be the RX 6600

They had decades to optimize them. Arc runs decently on new engines/technologies but it is no excuse.

The a750 is basically a 3060ti, the a770 is a bit worse then a 3070 but the bit frost version is just as good as a 3079

Same , developers still don't support intel arc gpu , games are still highly optimised for AMD - NVIDIA graphics cards only .

Above 4g decoding boost performance as well I averaged 120-128 on mw2

Afaik the intel arc only supports dx12 and has to use compatibility layers to use lower versions which causes alot of performance loss

Heard ARC had problems with DirectX games in terms of compatibility. That could explain the fps drop.
the arc doesn’t support drx 11 so there’s tons of games that just won’t perform well and you won’t be getting much use of your gpu
Ensure that ReBar is enabled in your bios. Arc gpu’s are basically bricks without it.
The Intel Arc GPU is optimized for compute and content creation to my knowledge

The A770 is very good at using dx12 rendering wich is not included in older games like csgo (dx9).
